Tabieats is a great channel! I’ve been watching those 2 guys for years and they are so nice: the food there in Japan looks amazing as always 😍 the quality and presentation is so awesome
I loved you got to meet up with Shinichi and Satoshi. I loved they took you to their local sites instead of touristy spots...they really showed you around their neighborhood and things they really like... Satoshi must really like you to show you his locust treats.
We were very fortunate to have been able to meet up with them! We definitely tried a lot of different items and enjoyed every moment! Mahalo forjoining us Carol! 🤙
Ah, my fave RU-vidrs collaborating again! This sets me up for a great weekend. I love when you guys get together. Felix, it's actually genius that you said to think of locusts as shrimp because both are arthropods in the animal kingdom. If people think of insects as mini shrimp or mini micro mini lobsters (the cockroaches of the sea), it would go a long way to promoting insects as a great protein source. I don't think Satoshi has ever recommended insects on their channel (even though it's a delicacy in his prefecture), so they must really love and trust you guys. The foodie ohana love emanates so much from your quartet. I can't wait to see what happens in Waikiki with Shinichi and Satoshi. You all are great hosts for each other.
Thank you for the kind comment! We all really enjoy filming together and it becomes fun instead of work! We're happy that it translated on camera 👍Mahalo for tuning in and supporting us! 🙌🤙
Great video collab with @TabiEats. I just re-watched it last night and went to Bonjour Bon for breakfast today. Great recommendation! Nakano is a nice change of pace from the hustle of Tokyo.
Perfect collab...i love u both...what a treat!!! Last vlog i saw was TabiEats in Sydney which i just returned from n now as I'm preparing 2 hopefully go 2 Japan soon, I was treated 2 dis wonderful vlog. So helpful n inspiring, not 2 mention, ONO!!! I love Felix's responses 2 da "oishi" grinds...classic!
I used to work at an English conversation school in Kōenji and I have friends who live(d) in Nogata, Shinichi and Satoshiʻs neighborhood in Nakano, so I know the area very well, though it was long ago, so most of the people I know have retired or moved somewhere else and Iʻm sure a lot of the businesses I knew have closed and there are many new ones like the ones you visited. S & S were the perfect foodie guides to take you to places you probably wouldnʻt have if you just depended on YELP. Like Nakano, Kōenji has a great variety of inexpensive places to eat and shop. I used to eat dinner in Kōenji every dinner break on a work day, sometimes picked up sandwiches or other take-out food for lunch (and fruit to take home), and I often went somewhere with friends after work at 9 p.m to eat or listen to music. The family of one of our teachers ran a korokke (croquette) shop so we could have delicious hot and "sakutto" croquettes if we stopped by before work. The staff and students at our school always went drinking on Friday night (even though most of us had work on Saturday) usually at an izakaya called "Inaka" (Countryside) where I also got to taste fried crickets and beetles, among other "delicacies" I sometmes wasnʻt crazy about. I donʻt drink alcohol, and Japanese people usually just split the bill at the end of the night (so heavey drinkers win out), but they just charged me 1,000 yen for juice and tea, so of course, I ate as much of the delicious food as I could! A group of us who took taxis home afterward, often stopped at a yatai for ramen or oden, and sometimes Mr. Donut to sober up a little. I definitely like eating at places like the ones Shinichi and Satoshi took you to more than the really popular ones with long lines (though I have done a lot of that in Tōkyō as well. Thank you for bringing back memories and sharing some interesting food Iʻve never had before.
Wow! That’s amazing! You’ve been to so many places in the past, would love to see if those places were still there!🤔 hehe we got so lucky to be able to meet and get a grand tour by TabiEats🥹💕
I was looking forward to this week's collab with Tabi Eats! My 2 favorite foodie youtubers! You did not disappoint! Probably your best video to date! I love the Japan content so much! Thank you! Oh, Amanda, love the Docs. My favorite shoe!
Aloha Amanda & Felix, what a terrific video, always good to see collaborations between you both and Tabieats! Felix, I give you credit for being adventurous with eating local culture foods. So many wonderful foods and places you all had eaten. BTW watched this video with Mom (haven't done that in a while) and I'm happy to say, she still remembers you both (this is good). I just watched your collaboration on Tabieats channel that aired this evening, makes me miss Hawaii and all of the ono grindz there.
another great clip. Your work in putting together clips is really amazing. so professional. Truly 1st class productions. I just can't get enough of viewing our clips. Just addicting they are so well donne.
I just went back to Tokyo for the first time in years in April. Wish you guys made this earlier lol. That sound on 12:19 of the train station noises is so nostalgic! Great video and collab with Tabi
私(わたし)の友達(ともだち)のお店・ブラックマウンテンカフェを紹介(しょうかい)して頂(いただ)き、有難(ありがと)うございました❗ Thank you for this video❗Especially about some cakes of Black Mountain Cafe the owner is my friend🤗. Black Mountains fresh cream is really amazing👍The whipped cream in this shop is not sticky in the mouth, it doesn't make your stomach feel heavy, and it's very light. SO, we eat many 😂😂😂 Anyway, 有難うございました〜♪ARIGATOU GOZAIMASHITA🤗🙏
Happy Friday Foodie Familia (Ohana)! I’m glad I didn’t miss this one. Mahalo (gracias) for another great episode and starting the weekend right. Love you Ohana! 🤙🏽❤️🌴
We just discovered your channel and watching your videos is helping us plan for our upcoming trip. It was also exciting to see #TabiEats with you. I have been watching their channel since 2019 and we love them ❤
Thank you so much to share this trip on this video. I’m planning to travel around Tokyo and just keep looking for something different from most people eat there. It is so interesting, also probably make my trip more fun and memorable without crowd.😊
Yay, I was waiting for this collaboration with TabiEats! There's nothing like local insider info on the best places to eat, and they certainly showed you some great ones! Felix, props to you for trying the locust! Loving your Japan adventures, thanks for taking us along! 🥰
25:25 Wow! Pretty sure that doorway would not pass Fire Marshall inspection here! LOL! Love the collab with TabiEats! It's one of my favorite channels along with Shinichi's World!
I think the doorway is like a traditional entry to a tearoom, where you are supposed to bow down to humble yourself as you enter. I can imagine some of my tall and "wide" friends having a hard time or getting stuck! The average Japanese doorway is (was?) only 5ʻ 10" so anyone 6 feet or over has to duck or bow down when entering a room or get whacked in the forehead!
Loved this video guys and glad you got to collab with TabiEats. I also watched their video seeing you guys later on Hawaii and that was also a really fun collab. Some really cool things and that tall soft serve cone looked wonderful.
You all were very good sports about the rain. Seemed to start light but then really came in! All the food looked great, but as a TabiEats fan I knew it would be. Green tea cones were pretty neat, never seen them before. Hello from sunny Oregon.
OMG!! That place Refutei that makes the Obanyaki, back in the day, when I was a kid, before you guys were born, they sold those at "Holiday Mart" aka Don Quiote. They had a cart outside the store and sold those. It was my ultimate favorite and since then I never found another place that made those. 😊❤️
Love the Japan series guys. The food always looks good in Japan and taste good too. Just came back from Japan and already want to go back and try more foods.
What a treat to see you all together in Tokyo! And the food! That hidden gem of a restaurant looked so interesting. Would love to check it out one day. Thanks for the video!
I SO NEED TO TASTE ALL OF THAT!!!!!! I have been following Tabi eats for years and now I have found you guys. Most excellent "DOUBLE TROUBLE". Cheers, Muffy from OZ (Australia)
One of the best videos! I have always wanted to visit Nakano, so happy you guys hit Nakano and Koenji, so I could see what’s happening there. And boy, Felix has been lifting weights 🏋️♀️ 💪
Amanda and Felix, your vlog were very helpful when we went to Oahu a couple of years ago, and now, as we're planning on going to Japan next year, you come out with this video and collaborating with our other favorite vloggers, TabiEats. Amazing! And yes, I am definitely going to hunt for those locusts. Love you guys! - Zeke.
Excellent Episode! Foodie Bliss to the max. Drooling...lol. So good I have to go back & watch this one again. Great Teamwork Gang! Two of the best pairs of foodies for the Ultimate food tour.
@@AmandaFelixEats I just saw the episode with you both as foodie guest on Tabi Eats. That was a nice collaboration video too. I bet there are so many places for you to take them and vice versa. A few places to take Shinichi...I'm sure you know...They love burgers so the Daley comes to mind, Bellas Bahn Mi, Waffle & Berry Waikiki, Mikes Huli-Huli Chicken to name a few. and a helpful hint....Satoshi hates Chicken breast lol!
@@AmandaFelixEats hey I work at kahala hotel if you ever wanna stop by let me know. Shoots, we will eat tons of food next month. Mahalo for all your videos!!
First time seeing your videos and so glad you did it with my favorite couple. Well shot and edited and doesnt hurt to look at Amanda’s flawless face and adorable ears. Dont worry, not a weird creep but have to point out the obvious.
Only that persuasively charming fellow could have gotten the old chap to eat locusts. Best ever sacrifice for content Felix. I know I am going to have to watch this a few times and share it each time with other foodie friends. This is the episode you should use if you come to a time to provide a sample of your channel productions. Seriously, if there is a foodie uTube competition or you need your most entertaining episode this one is it kiddos. It really brings out the best in all the participants, your guest hosts as well.
Shinichi and Satoshi mentioned this video on their weekly live stream, so I had to look. I was skeptical, but when I saw the Fleetwood Mac Rumours T-Shirt, I knew it would be alright.
WOW! WHERE does Japan get their maple syrup from?!-lol....Noticing in some slow-mo close-ups, picture is kinda herky-jerky...Or is it just me?!...At the time when viewing, Wahiawa is experiencing summertime rains!-lol...Cannot fathom eating ice cream on rainy day! Everything else looks "Oishi!"...Good seeing TabiEats again!
Your travel video had me hooked from the beginning to the end! On a related note, have you come across the new V4 of the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane? It's been receiving rave reviews and could be a practical and stylish addition to your travel gear.
Hiiiii guys! Oh my gosh! I loved this collaboration video so much! Everything that you all ate, looked so delicious. Even the locusts! Thank you for sharing the whole day with my TabiEats boys! ❤😊
