In this video, we're taking a look at the latest High Trail TRX4 release from ‪@Traxxas‬ - the 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer. The High Trail addition adds some additional features, including a 1" lift and 2.2" wheels. It also includes all the TRX-4 features including portal axles, locking/unlocking front and rear diffs, two-speed transmission - making this such a fun rig to go trailing with. In this video, we cover all the features, install early upgrades including a Traxxas winch and light kit, and then take it out to some local trails with my F150 High Trail.

@@6-Iron the brushed motor is very smooth in 1st gear… if anything the esc is what’s lacking, a hw1080 makes it suuuuper smooth even with added weight

Totally agree but that is how the big T sucks $$ from their over- priced accessories and upgrades. The advantage that content YT creator's is that many of them get Free hop-up parts and goodies,or at a considerable discount. Patrons like myself that pay full retail prices and to where every dollar counts,cannot see sinking 500 bucks initially,and then sinking another few hundred in upgrades. Not happening here!! 😊

I love these high trail editions! I have like 3 Trx4 rigs : the High trail f150 , 2021 bronco and the 79 Bronco ! They’re all highly built and recently added a rear sway bar to the F150 high trail to help with the high center of gravity! Used an Element rear sway bar kit….worked great!

I see people complain and whinge about Traxxas batteries… Well, I can say that after two and a half years of owning the same three Traxxas LiPos, with them being used nearly every day and accumulating over a combined 7,000 of crawling and racing kilometres… They’re still running strong.

I have three traxxas 5000mah 3s lipos and each is good for about 7-9km of trailing on hilly landscape. Thats enough for me, can't even walk farthern than 20km LOL

Very cool, I started mounting Winches to the front little battery tray on the TRX's, love Traxxas accessories perfect fit and finish, your pintle hitches are awesome I have 4 and got a couple for some friends, all are perfect....bummer you had some set backs but that's how it goes, Blazer looks amazing and love the channel!!!!!!

I just got a trx-4 bronco second hand in a lot of 4 rc's that I bought for 300 bucks, and I'll tell you what it performs amazing.

Ya they sure look good,i got the trx 4 bronco,with warn winch upgrade n metal bumpers ,mudflaps ,full size spare on back , n light bar across the top cab looks really good with warn n ridgid, and rainbow ford body decal ,love that blazer . Im thinking might need to pick one up ,great videos thanks

I think this would be a good idea for Traxxas, they should have designed that Blazer body with the ability to detach the back canopy. I think I would be pretty cool if they did that.

I've been looking to get back into the RC hobby for quite a few years now. I used to love it when I was a kid but it got away from me over the years. I'm thinking about getting back into it and I keep teetering between crawlers like these and the monster truck racers/bashers. I feel like the crawlers are more my style which will probably be what I end up going with when I do decide to pull the trigger on buying one. The question is.. which one?! The TRX4 has a few to choose from. I'm in no hurry though so I have time to make up my mind. I will say I've always been a Ford guy so naturally that F-150 is right up my alley. Anyway, I just wanted to say I enjoyed your video and I subscribed to your channel. I will definitely be checking out more of your videos.

It's an amazing looking truck, I do like it. I just think Traxxas would sell a lot more of these types of RCs if the windows were clear. I know everyone is tired of hearing it but I simply can not buy a scale truck with black sticker windows. But the truck does pull it off, it looks sick. Traxxas, I realize manufacturing costs go up, but we need clear windows.

The reason for the sticker windows on the Blazer and some other bodies, especially those with metallic colors, is because the color is screen-printed on the Lexan before it's vacuum-formed into the shape of the body. It is possible, however, to remove it - Scale Builder's Guild did a video recently on stripping the paint from the inside of the windows using Tamiya Polycarbonate Body Cleaner.

Haven't seen videos with the blue one.. except the picture here, That should look good too. I got a couple of those hitches from Wish which also came with the trailer coupler - need to watch the inclines though (not much up/down) Sad to find out the 1/10 Atlas only has a one and only hitch and it's just for a ring, not the ball and ring.

Great detailed video. Me beef with Traxxas is the body choice. They chose a great year for the blazer and a terrible year for Ford. Should have done the 67-72 Chevy C10 best looking pickup ever built. Especially over the 78 Ford. Anyhow I had to explain my opinion... Lol

I use my spectrum 3S lipo in my F150 Hightrail. They make conversion connectors that go from the traxxas to the normal EC3 connection. I had to take the battery tray arm off and use velcro to hold my battery in. I will not byuy traxxas batteries or chargers.

100$ for a scale winch is just insane. How often will you actually use it for “recovery”. Unless its in front of a camera I dont see it happening. Despite that loved the video! Those rigs always look great

It's the motor sensing wires for the light kit so you get the reverse light function

Hi 👋 RC GIRL, I have 2 Bronco chassis in one body kit so I have all three I have a lighting kit(not Traxxas)for 1 but I'm curious on the Traxxas lighting kit. you said you can do programming do you know if you can program turning off the turn signals if you can that I'm interested in getting one don't care much for the turn signals but really like brake lights and reversing lights enjoy watching your stuff thank you girl

I killed one of those light modules and even the ESC when i washed the truck after a run with clear water. Water came into the light module and shorted something, and this shorted thing also killed the ESC. And all that because i plugged the battery in too early while everything was still wet

I think it was really a dumb move for traxxas to go with those bigger tires yes they look cool but when you get off road and they do all that rubbing it's just not something you want to hear I put the 1.9 on mine off my blazer that was not lifted

The nearly good truck, what would of been a super scale rig ruined with "Toy grade" Blacked out windows, i get the sales plot buy rig for $550 then customer spends another $150 on a clear body just to get clear windows to fit a scale interior, thats just a money grab from traxx, models half this price from other companies have clear windows, just my opinion, but hey great video

I don’t why we need a review of this, it’s the same junk in the trx-4 from 5 years ago, all they did was swap a body add some tires and a lift kit, stay away from traxxas ppl n RU-vid, they are all bought and paid!
