I have had my Ibanez DTX120 for 15 years. Toured and played hundreds of gigs with it. Spent $350 for it around 2004 and changed the pups. Even when I play guitar s live like an RG or other super strats shes still on stand ready as a backup. She is a true warrior of a guitar that has never failed me. Id buy another is I found one.

coolest travel guitar I have seen was a lp scale and lp style headless with a single mini humbucker in the neck, that could fit in a mandolin case. It was made by a Finnish luthier Juha Lottonen. It was an absolute beast to play.

The "The rocker in you" sentence gets somehow special meaning when talking about smaller guitars. Nice birthday guitar for some junior to get on the metal train. :-)

I have the regular Gio Mikro with a pair of Dimarzio D-activators and it's a shred machine. Even sounds good at drop c with 11's on it.

TK great job on the demo, I've acquired both mikro guitars over the years as well as other brands and by far for the price you can't beat the ibanez series, there are others out there but in one persons opinion nothing comes close to the ibanez mini guitar series, for what you get it's the shit, my kids play them a well as I, I've even play a live show with the destroyer and it's a BEAST... Keep up the bad ass job TTK, ROCK ON...

TK, great short on shorties. Always love your enthusiasm. The easiest real travel guitar I have found, and I mean put in your carry on or in your lap top bag, is the Strobel Rambler. OK , so it's not a metal looker by a long shot but if you've got to move around and you've got to play, it is great. Check it out.

TK these are in fact very nice killer guitars. You sounded great playing it. I'm totally digging all of the gold hardware on the Destroyer Micro with that Candy Apple finish is total KILLER guitar for sure. Those pickups also sounded great. It's a guitar I would without a doubt cherish and play the heck out of it but I'd still take wicked good care of it like you said too. All of my low priced guitars that I now play and love I still take as good care of them as I would any of my multiple of thousands of dollar guitars that I am lucky enough to had to forsight to collect and keep from decades ago that. The same can be said about some of these same low priced models like this so 10 or 15 years from now these will be worth much more money as it will be impossible for the company to make at todays price. Which to me is another great selling point on these guitars. Great Demo as always as I can always take that to the band too. :) TNT

sounds pretty good for a 3/4 guitar. I tried a 1/2 scale les paul and strat in the 90's that sucked badly! those seem cool an great for kids!

I wrote a Hugh Riff on a Mini strat. It's the Intro "In The Beginning" on my chn you can hear the riff wrote in a mini strat the Oh The Irony lol

Great review! How about reviewing the Squier Ministrat? 99 bucks at GC and it sounds remarkably like a regular sized stratocaster.

Would it work if I put the neck of my regular Ibanez gio into the black "Mikro" guitar ? I wanna try it ..

No, they are different scales. These are slightly over 22“vs25.4“(?) on a normal one. Since the 12th fret are in the center of the scale you would have to move the bridge in that case. Also you would probably have to widen the neck pocket a little to.

Honestly ..... I prefer to have an old scartched up Kramer or a Dinky even for the price. Better pickups,better bridge, better wood, better hardware,better wiring, worst cosmetics.
