Although I do not race karts I do like the technical aspect of tunning chassis without suspension. A few months ago I was literally looking for videos on the tunning aspect of the kart chassis and found very few videos regarding the subject. And now on these last few months there is literally a ton of info on your channel regarding the topic. Great content. Apreciate the info.

Derek, these tips are really great. You explain the why/cause & effect rather than the just the how-to. Was simple to understand. I wish i lived in Qld so we could come race up there.

Incredible! Removed 10mm per side. (Leaving only a 10mm per side) very narrow I guess but Kart handled so well! So responsive and effortless steering! Wonder what a a larger Hub will feel like! Thanks again! Wondering if new hubs come with bearings already installed

Hey! I’m fairly new to karting and I constantly struggle with oversteer. The rear slides out early/mid corner. I have watched your videos but am still struggling. I drive on Spa Francorchamps Karting track this weekend and was hoping you could give me a tip or two on what to try. Love your stuff, thanks for all the information!

What would be your go to for a 4s kart, short or longer front hub? Some of the arrow x5 4s chassis here come with hub integrated in the wheel. what is the advantage of that?
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 2 года назад
the integral hubs are standard on the little karts and entry level senior karts. probably works fine on a 4ss kart. big hubs work mostly for the higher grip tyres, but i reckon they work good for your 4SS

Hey Power Republic great video! Just a newbie question. Are the Arrow X5 and Arrow X3 the same chassis? Is the design the same? Is it possible for the brakes, steering parts etc etc from an X3 to go on an X5? Thanks, heaps.
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 2 года назад
Hey Ham, thanks for tuning in. yeah they are the same brand, but different tube layout/design. the running gear/components are very similar if not the same and should transfer straight over. hope that helps

Hi, great video. Few questions if I may. Does the front width also affect the front grip? I was having Tony kart Krypton 32 ( shifter) for five years and this year I could net get new chassis or used one in good condition, so I switched to Maranello. It is totally different driving experience. Kart is much more difficult or heavier to handle. It requires more strength, although it is hard to explain. So until I switch back to Tony kart I need to live with that and try to find better set up. I set up my front to “neutral” but it stil feels very heavy on a steering wheel. Any suggestion what to do and not to compromise front grip to much. Thanks
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 2 года назад
Hey Klemen, thanks heaps for tuning in and sharing the videos. maybe check the Ackerman on the stirring shaft and stub axle ( if available on Maranello) also too, maybe you could get some Fast adjusters and move the seat forwards incidentally until the steering becomes light enough for you again . just some ideas, hope that helps dez

will a longer hub allow me to turn in faster than a shorter one? will that affect the rear grip of the overall chassis setup?
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic Год назад
not sure about that. long hubs better acceleration traction from apex to exit for me normally. Shorties for the opposite when it is hot and sticky.

I am running on a small twisty track in a KZ class (750 meters with lots of corners). I feel a bit oversteer and instability. Does this mean my front settings need to be more narrow? Thanks a lot for the content :).
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 2 года назад
Not really, have you got a soft axle in and big hubs on ? KZ is a different animal.
@christianlober4636

@@PowerRepublic Thanks for the reply :). I don't know how to check the hardness of the rear axel. But the front hub is 76cm and the rear is quite large, can't remember the size :).
@paulhamburg

What if the track is twisty, but fast ? Would you run narrow or wide width ?
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 2 года назад
if it is fast and twisty, as a rule I would run the front wider than normal for stability.
