About 5 years ago I got to handle one at the local store. It was 20 ga. and I was in love. However at the time, I didn't have the money to by a nearly $2K shot gun. I am not able to even think about one now, but if my personal circumstance were better this is the o-u I would buy.
Most underrated O/U ever. If you like the engraved guns the Cynergy field is the gun for you. This gun bust’s clays and doves like it’s nobodies business. Best “investment” I’ve ever made!!!
Can we see a review of the Browning 725 Sporter? Been looking at those and curious to see what you think! Keep up the GREAT work good sir! Much respect and support from Yuma, AZ. 👍👍
I'm just getting back to the clay busting sports after a 30-year hiatus. I purchased a lightly used CF Maxus Sporting 2 weeks ago and tried it out last Saturday and failed miserably with it. My form was good, according to my squad members, but the fit of the gun wasn't. I thought a semiautomatic was the ticket but realized I really wasn't happy with this one, and what I really wanted was a quality OU that fitted me better. I started looking at different videos of OU's and saw you had reviewed this OU, and I was intrigued with it. I took the Maxus back last night and purchased this exact Cynergy . The gun feels so much better and points so much better so we will see this weekend how it does for me. Thanks for posting
When they first came out I wouldn't buy one because I thought they were ugly, especially because of the euro style recoil pad. However, in September last year I purchased the synthetic version 30" and I loved it straight out of the box. It has the euro style recoil pad and it is the softest shooting 12ga I have ever shot. I liked it so much, two months later I bought another in wood, 32". It is my new clay gun now. I have owned several OU and this is a real top notch firearm. Browning never fails to deliver.
It’s certainly a style that’s not for everyone but it points very naturally, has a recoil that’s light and straight back. It’s Brownings best but least admired shotgun
I have one over/under and it's the Browning Cynergy CX Composite. I use it mostly for trap and sporting clays. It's my favorite. My other 12 gauge is a Maxus 2. I enjoy them both and agree with your review of both guns.
I've have a wicked wing Cynergy, it's a great gun, I really like it, shoots great, they look amazing in person, I get comments on it all the time! Highly recommend one if you're considering one!
I have one as well as a silver pigeon sporter. Both low profile receivers. Both quick and point great. The SP is prettier and a few hundred buck more expensive. The Cynergy had those nice mechanical triggers. As for “one gun” the SP wins just because it’s so easy to work on and parts are readily available…. Cynergy not so much. Cynergys had some forestock problems early on. Think they are resolved. If I get another it’ll be with the synthetic stock as it’s parallel and adjustable. Makes for a better wet weather or duck gun. I shot one side-by-side with a 725 everyone wants reviewed. For me personally the Cynergy is better than the 725, And less than half the price
I just bought this shotgun today because of this review. I should be shooting it tomorrow. Great review. I've seen a few of your reviews and I subscribed.
Well done review. Best I've seen since my company gifted me a 12-ga. CX in 2020 exactly like yours. My CX had a sharp "cheese grater" point on the forearm removal piece, other than that it has been a jewel. The only suggestions I have for your videos is to define the loads you are using, for example, 1-ou. or 1 1/8 of shot, and at what velocity because that drives the recoil. Also, the barrel length is relevant as the previous responder asked. Scott Klamath Falls, OR.
I brought the plastic stock version with 30inch barrels and a adjustable comb a couple months ago, love it ! Use mine for sporting clays and duck hunting.
I'm just getting into trap with my brother and I love it, I'm mostly focusing on mount, hold points, body position, and anticipation for where I think the clays will emerge from the house. I recently shot a member's Browning White Lighting 12 gauge with 28" barrels and I thought I'd give my compare/contrast to my brother's Rizzini BR110 Sporter X I usually use. The Browning felt more dense and svelte than the Rizzini and consequently to my feel, about a pound heavier. The Rizzini felt heavier and chunkier, slightly unwieldy by comparison. I liked the way it swung and liked the stepped rib over no rib on the Rizzini. Both stocks fit me well, I'm 5'7" with long arms, medium athletic build, and a short neck so I didn't need to ajust the comb. Triggers were smooth with no take up on both. The biggest, most noticeable thing for me is my brother's Rizzini (mabye it's a problem with them generally) the action is incredibly stiff! To where I'm fighting for leverage where the Browning almost falls open.
Great review very detailed as usual. Would love to see your take on the Franchi o/u’s. Like Franchi ascension etc. They’re much cheaper and lighter than Cynergy.
My new Browning Cynergy CX slapped my face badly. After installing a $10 kick eez 1/2” pitch spacer to change to zero pitch, it never slaps my face anymore.
I recently bought the Browning Cynergy CX Composite. If any of you have shot the wood version and composite version did you find there is a difference between the two?
Cynergy makes a Feather version with 28 inch barrels weighing 6 pounds and 14 ounces. In a 26 inch barrel length I would be interested but it cost less than my Browning Feather 725 12 gauge with 26 inch barrels. So I will stick with what I already purchased.
Here in the UK pain actions are the in thing for sporting ,where the game guns engraved and lighter.can you get the Browning 525sl if so may be Mr Gould could give it once over.Regards from UK.👏
I got one from Santa last year, Cynergy cx 32". I'm new to clay shooting, and use it to shoot trap with my gun club(Brooklyn Schuetzen Corps). I love the gun! I was using a Stoeger 3000 before I got the Browning. The recoil is very light too. Looking forward to trying skeet in the future.
That receiver is very narrow. But weighing 7 pounds and 14 ounces I will stick with my Browning 725 Feather 12 gauge with 26 inch barrels and weighing just 6 pounds and 7 ounces. Handles beautifully and points like an extension of my arms.
I don't have a 12ga. But I do have a cynergy 20ga with 26 inch barrels weighing 6lb 6oz. For me, that is the perfect weight for a field gun. Any lighter, and it will get too wippy.
I totally spaced that!!!! Thanks for pointing it out. I just reviewed the Citori CXS and the 725 Sporting and I made sure to cover the adjustability, the trigger shoes, and the mechanical trigger on the 725.
I bought the cynergy max-5(predecessor to the wicked wing) and have used it as my one gun. It's taken just about every winged bird your allowed to hunt in Canada, as well as about 20,000 target rounds through it. Great all around gun but for those long pheasant hunts I noticed a difference. If I had to keep one gun for everything that would be it, but thank God I don't.
Thanks for the review. Just picked one up at Cabelas. If fits me great and I love shooting it. Recoil is managed well. Recoil is almost like shooting my Mossberg 940 JM Pro. Great butt pad but I wish it had the same one found on the synthetic stock model. Love the looks of it. Modern and sleek with an echo from the past. happy shooting!!!
Hello I am 69 years old and disabled due to a stroke. I am in a wheelchair and I wanted to know if I could shoot clays and I wanted a O/U shotgun. I want to know what you thought about my situation?
Great vlog! Drooling over this Browning. I love clean guns with nuttin fancy. To me all that fancy engraving, pictures, gold and fiddled wood is a waste of $ and time. Just gimme a tool to get the job done.
I bought the trap version; grey laminate stock + unsingle barrel, 2019. Love the looks, shot alot of 25’s with it but I am on my fifth lower firing pin ; 15 - 20k rounds. Selling it as I have lost confidence in if it will fire when needed. Sad. The lower firing pin strikes at an upward angle which results in all the contact in one particular spot on the firing pin.
Another great review Reeds is differently the place purchase a shotgun. I think Browning makes the best O/Us. But I can’t just have one O/U. One gun usually doesn’t work for everything. But that a solid shotgun. I’m with you it should be prettier for that kind of money. Great job 5 Stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I would like to know your opinion on something like an sxp defender (with interchangeable choke tubes) as an all around shotgun, and i would like to see you trying to shoot a trap round with that
The waterfowl version of this is my go to duck gun. Mine has been Cericoated and I added doing studs. The design allows me to shoot magnum loads, while standing, with ease. .Now, overhead shots from a layout blind or in the socks start to push my recoil limits. I have to remind myself to keep.my head down due to the very low receiver design. The utility of the gun makes it easy to maintain, even in brackish water areas. I want Browning to make a waterfowling version in 28 gauge. The newest nontoxic loads have reopened to subgauge world to waterfowling.
Thanks Steve, awesome video brother. I'm just getting more heavy into trap shooting and I love your in depth reviews. Can i ask what protective lenses and ear protection you are using in this video? Thanks in advance brother.
Yeah, the first time you have to take that beautiful masterpiece to the swamp, and use it as a boat paddle, you’re going to think twice about that being your duck gun. 😏
Have you handled the Feather version? It's supposed to be about a pound lighter with the alloy receiver. I'd like to hear your opinion on that one if you get the opportunity
JUST GOT THE 30" FROM BASS PRO I LOVE IT CANT WAIT TO SHOOT IT AND IM BIDDING ON ONE AT REEDS ON GUNBROKER LAST ONE AT BASS HAD TO MAKE A QUICK DECISION DIDNT WANT TO LOSE OUT SO MAY END UP WITH 2
Just bought a Cynergy and am planning on mostly sporting clays with an occasional bird hunt. I found a deal on a used gun that I couldn't pass up. there's not a scratch on the gun anywhere. still had the browning sticker on the barrel. now my question...can it be converted from ejectors to extractors? This is my first O/U so it's all new to me.
Watched this video and went to my local shop and they had one so they let me cuddle with it for a few minutes. I'm really liking it and it's gone up to the top of my list for my first O/U shotgun. Do you recommend 50/50 or 60/40, or is it more of a personal preference thing?
@@TargetFocusedLife Clay targets, more than likely skeet, 5 stand, sporting clays, maybe trap too, why not? wanting to get into it and looking for my first shotgun that's not too expensive. Thanks for the reply!
