Shorting works not as direct as long positions. When you are shorting, you borrow the asset(s) and immediately sell it at its current price expecting the price is going down. Later on when the price is cheaper, you bought the asset again and return the asset while keeping the profit. It’s a strategy traders use to profit during bearish market. Keep in mind that not all asset(stocks, bonds, commodities, etc) can be shorted. Depends on regulation, and market sometimes shorting isn’t allowed. Also another thing, fundamentally, shorting carry a much more higher risk because there’s no limit of where price is going up(technically)

I actually quantize the "very long wick" candle at vwap using 1 period ATR and if the range of the candles wick is greater than the average then I consider it long wicked.

Please make a video to buy/sell stocks at extreme low/high levels on the basis of RSI strategy. Buy at extreme low to capture gains from long term till the stock price reaches all time high, instead of buying at ATH breakouts only and vise versa.
