I seem to recall reading that these PSU's also support 220v/240v, but I'm unable to find a source for that at the moment. I've got my first Apple IIgs on the way from the US, and being a European I have to change the PSU. This looks like a great product if it works here in Europe.
Iit is my understanding these power supplies accept 90 to 240v, and 50-60hz. You can reach out to ReactiveMicro about details specifics before purchasing.
overdriver99 < There is a guy on ebay (buggie4vrl) that sells modified laptop power supplies that work on Apple Iic computers for less than $20. I haven't bought one yet. I just know they exist.
Joe, did you keep the old guts to the power supply after you installed the new P.S. kit? Is there any reason to do so? I'm getting my Universal Apple II Power Supply kit tomorrow. I had plans to toss out the old tech.
I kept my guts, and may repair it as a chillstream at some point. SPOILERS! If you know how to repair your original powersupply, it's handy to do so and keep it around as a spare. The Universal supply is of greater capabilities, however, and should well outlast the original supply.
The new supply is both more energy efficient and provides cleaner power and higher wattage, so it's objectively better than the original supply. You would replace your original supply if it's dead, you are running lots of cards, or you suspect a power issue. It's also easier and more sure thing to replace a suspect reply than to try to repair the original.
