Yeah. A case that is mass-produced, no water cooling, no RGB, no riser cable (which can complicate PCIe 4.0 compatibility). So really very little to trip up a novice builder-or someone more experienced who regardless wants something as simple and reliable as possible. I have a Dan A4 currently but this is probably relatively similar to what I would build today, if doing so from scratch.

Dave2d sucks compared to Ali. He is for casuals. You can see when he throws his graphs on his laptop reviews where he only keeps it on the screen for like 5 seconds while showing a game right next to it drawing your attention from the information. Where as Ali has mastered the presentation of graphs by far better than even Gamer's Nexus or Hardware Unboxed. I really can't trust Dave2d just by him showing Firestrike temps and saying "yeah the temps are good" every single time.

Thank you; it’s nice to see an air cooled ITX build! I think it’s worth noting that the Noctua NH-U12A fits as well. IMO you don’t need those two bottom intake fans. I have this setup in my rig and works very well. For reference I have a 3700x and a triple fan 5700XT with two NF-A 12x25 top exhaust fans with the above Noctua cooler. This setup has excellent thermals while being very quiet.
@Jacobvb11
@Jacobvb11 2 года назад
Since you don’t have the bottom fans how do you orientate the cpu cooler?
@GR-cd2kx
@GR-cd2kx 2 года назад
@@Jacobvb11 I have mine set to exhausting towards the back to help pull hot air from the GPU. I played with intake from the rear and that did get better CPU temps but opted for GPU thermals. I have since changed to a 3080 and added intake fans on the bottom for that GPU because it runs so much hotter.

@@Jacobvb11 awesome! I’m super happy with this build. something to keep in mind with the NH-U12A and top exhaust fans apparently is that most but not all motherboards will work. Just a heads up. You can use the Hyper 212 Black with the TG side panel. You just need to remove the heat pipe caps by popping off the top plate of the cooler, remove the caps and put the top plate back on. This will allow the TG side panel to fit with 0.5mm clearance.

@funnyarc
@funnyarc 3 года назад
@@Lizard008 Can say the same, using Mugen 5 with 2* 12cm 25mm fans without issues. I did have to flatten the iron wire (the one that holds the fan on the heatsink), and not use the grill for the back top fan. i.postimg.cc/qvzKtrfZ/IMG-20210422-201029.jpg Top fan and on heatsink are Noctua 12cm iPPC 3000 fans, and above the heatsink the Cooler Master Sickleflow fan that came with the case, on the back is a 92cm Noctua non-pwm fan. On the bottom, the GPU is a RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio, which i deshrouded and placed 2*140mm Noctua iPPC 2000 fans, in reverse (cold air moves in through side panel, through heatsink, to bottom). The plastic you see is tape, which i placed to block air and increase negative pressure coming into he heatsink, i know it looks kinda fugly (might use black tape instead, or nothing at all), well it was kinda a experiment to see if it's worth doing that, normally run it open. Yes, i tried 12cm fans to see if it improves further, it does for about 2°C, but a part of the heatsink stays kinda hot and since 12cm does not really cover the whole card, and the bottom needs to be taped so air does not bounce back in from the bottom. I thought, oh well, I'll just keep this so i don't have to buy new fans, it's easier too. Doing the fans in reverse was done because hot air would increase temperatures of the motherboard, any SATA or m.2 SSD's (even in the back), CPU, PSU, etc. This way there is always a high negative pressure, but all air is sucked through the side panels and the case air is always room temperature, components can't heat each other up, and it shows for me, components are not noticably affected (aside from air from the other side of the case, inside of the tv cabinet becoming a bit warmer and raising m.2 ssd temperature by 2°C). Still, even with this, in Furmark, the GDDR6X VRAM temperature still hits 110°C way too easily after some time of running. In Control, with 4K, DLSS 1080p, everything including ray tracing on High, i get about 87-104fps, core stays between 67-71°C and vram at 94-98°C. On stock, even with undervolt, this would have been worse. MSI did a absolute Shit job at cooling the VRAM on the Gaming X Trio, i can easily fix it by replacing the thermal pads and paste by some Gelid Extreme stuff, or even better with thin copper plates like some Russian guy did. I asked MSI if they would void warranty, since EU and The Netherlands have a Shitty warranty policy when it comes to maintaince and repair, were the manufacturer basically owns all your stuff, and warranty only applies if you use it exactly and only as the manufacturer desires. Compared to the US, were the warranty period may be worse (in the EU 2 years mininum is mandated), but warranty can not be void for breaking the manufacturer sticker and going inside of the card, making sure not to destroy stuff or use liquid metal (and proof it). Oh, and don't get me started on how they cancelled all those orders for people that wanted a 3080 Gaming X Trio (they said they would not...and i think they may do the same for the Suprim X since there is a Suprim SE), or how often their customer support is lacking (not always though). ....welp sorry about that, guess i couldn't help ranting about MSI in the end.

I love these clean ITX builds! I think the main reason to pick a midtower over ITX these days is more likely to be related to saving money on the PSU (SFX units are still a fair bit more expensive than ATX) and the ease of adding storage. It is fantastic that the trend of better air flow has made it to mainstream ITX cases though, and this build is really nice!

Curious to see if the vertical cpu cooler is more effective than a rear intake.

That's what I thought. In that config, if the cpu fan is pushing, the air is, at most, the recycled graphics card exhaust in the case, and if it's pulling, then means the top fans are intake so there's no exhaust fans at all in the case.

Just bought this before the case goes out of stock. Figure I’m going to make this part of my first SFF PC build and I’ve already got the GPU. I will just need CPU, MoBo, RAM, Power Supply and probably a few case fans.

Its impossible to get a gpu here in the U.S without selling a kidney on the black market. The micro center near me only has crappy cards nobody wants.

1:19 it's not the most compact Mini Itx, but IT IS the most compat mAtx case for SURE. I'm using it with a 23x21 mAtx motherboard and a full size atx power supply and this case is AMAZING.

I am actually planing on a very similar build myself right now. I chose an Noctua NH-L12s as my low profile CPU cooler, allowing me to mount one 120mm fan on the side pannel. As for an motherboard I chose the Asus Rog Strix B560 I Gaming WiFi, which is basically the only other option for an B560 ITX motherboard. All the other parts are basically the same. Well I will have to wait for an GPU to be available with a reasonable price, since I live in Germany, I guess... Great video!

Thank you very much. Because of your reviews, I think the CM NR200 is my 'future' case. Unless of course, a better case at about 18L comes out in the future. Thank you again.
