Only took me a couple of tries Session Skate sim the GOAT ☺️ This game is a skateboarding simulator. Like real life skateboarding, session is extremely hard and takes years of dedicated practice to get good at. GG EZ peace ❤️
What's blowing my mind is how you can line up your tricks with such ease. Each trick makes the roll up for the next one perfect. It's like shooting billiards, every move is made with the next one in mind.

Yeah it’s way harder, I don’t play it that much but I think if you get used to it it’s fun. Just mess around with the settings. Skate 2 is my all time favorite skateboarding game.
This game is great though it feels a bit incomplete I love that you can find 'hidden' or advanced tricks by doing similar motions modern ghetto bird is down half circle left and right while spinning back side ( I think) I was like woahh crazy but I wish there was a better list for the missions no clue how to bs big spin
They could do with optional 'translation' settings that let you decide how much extra detail they give when describing the tricks. Maybe let you ask for a full breakdown of inputs if you're struggling with a mission or understanding how to orientate yourself for a sequence. I feel like half my issue with the harder missions is the lack of innate grasp of all the stances and terminology that an experienced skater has.
Being a skater xl player going to session is a major jump ngl hated it at first but it’s a big ol skill curve which is actually pretty cool since you’re not a god like skate you actually have to learn it
@@baggypop7536 trying to use it more and more just to force the muscle memory. Game is so smooth and realistic it makes my tony hawk brain go crazy lmao

Haven't played Session in a long while, I broke my old controller trying to fix a drift issue... I'm getting a new one on Monday, I hope 1.0 was worth the wait, it looks much less janky than it was
how did your wheels and grip tape become worn down? i’ve been skating the same board for a while now and my graphic is gone but my wheels and grip tape are perfectly fine
It should be working for you cuz it works me and I'm playing on PS4 pro with vanilla settings. I say vanilla settings because they allow you to change a lot of stuff even on console. Typically these settings are only seen on PC or someone created a mod to allow you to change them.
@@baggypop7536 the way he turns looks very robotic and unnatural. Arms clipping through his body. Very little to no impact physics when he lands. Getting on and off the board has horrible animation. Theres a lot more off. Game looks promising but still a long ways to go
@@adrianolini1889 i don’t know if you’ve played it, but the impact physics are phenomenal. The skating physics too. I skateboard 6 days a week so the simulation aspect is very important to me. The issues with animation you have, I am confident will be fixed. For me to enjoy the game for its intended purpose, it is phenomenal. It is the best skateboarding game I have ever played and the way it replicates real life skateboarding is unparallelled. When you play this game properly and are good at it, animations are the last thing on your mind :)
I play on default controls, I’ve gotten used to them for the most part I just have no idea how to do a grind, flip trick, back to grind. Every time I try to do a 5050/5.0 kickflip back to grind my dude just lands off the rail
You gotta let go of the input and then put it back in, if it's a fs K grind then let go of your front foot stick then hold it so he doesn't go out of it then try a kickflip or quick shuv back into it, I recommend custom settings @daniel helbig
Once u pop onto the rail for let's a say front crook skating regular you keep your left joy stick pushed up towards the right for the entirety of the grind.
Session or Skater XL we need body physics😂 I'm tired of the Skater always looking so damn nonchalant. Either I've watched too many skate videos or I'm still amazed that Skate games are so behind everything else...
let go of the grind input for a split second, and then input a side pop like you would on flat. Or simply the character will automatically pop wherever his bodyweight is, so you can position yourself initially on the grind depending where you want to pop out
@@danielhelbig1116 no, let go of both sticks while on the grind, then quickly input your back foot stick either to the left or right, and the flick up your front foot stick
Understand it completely and felt the same way. The flow in this game is good too, when you get good at it. It is a lot harder than skater xl. I guarantee the game doesn’t FEEL stiff at all once you get used to it.
@@stevenskates8077 new update looks interesting too! Not currently on skater xl as i don’t have a computer, but the current state of the mods look immaculate 👌
nice lines, though your treflips looks such turn off. trick itself looks clean and crisp but that backfoot position is just hideous. totally wrong pocket haha :D
One point I'll make just so somebody may be able to identify is the noise everybody thinks the sound is better but all their hearing is more more is not always better all I hear in this video I just realized is clack clack clack clack clack clack clack clack and it's not an ollie it's the sound of the wheel on every single freaking crack yeah sure you skate cobblestone in real life that's what it sounds like but you don't want it to be so loud and disturbing that it literally affects the video that you're trying to make you know what I mean then you shouldn't have to go into these detailed controls and turn the background noise down or whatever it's at the end of the day a game sweet sweet
This is because goofy stance is not implemented yet, so as I am goofy, my tricks look switch. All the «regular» tricks you see are switch for me. Goofy stance will be added in a future update, they just recently hired a new animator.
This is not to the player by the way not at all with be skills and you being able to pull this off with that game my hat is off to you probably rule on skater XL just wanted to clarify cuz I just can't get over it as well as I know you I never know if it was you skating or just someone else who just got the controls right I hope you know what I mean I hope I didn't offend
I understand what you mean and I felt the same way at first. At the end of the day they are two very different games, and Session feels more like how I skate in real life, so that is my go to. I also play modded skater xl but mostly just for the custom maps. Haven’t touched vanilla/console skater XL in over a year
I hear that I literally find myself trying to use black boards with black grip tape and black wheels and certain size and certain look to sneakers and pants just to get the effect that the board is a little bigger LOL but I guess at least to me it was worth hanging in there because 2023
