The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel ru-vid.comUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
Know what would be 10x better. If they started to do their Morningtide films again, With all the boys over the weekend. Still amazing videos from all their own channels
Yea! Definitely my dream.. I love fishing but my dad can’t afford a fishing rod for me I only fished with my friends dad once and I loved it! I beg for him to buy me a fishing rod but he never does :( it’s my bd and he didn’t buy me it sadly

@@CavyFishing I used to live in a place called Zanzibar. Small tropical island of the coast of Tanzania. We thought it was gonna get bad over there. Well we where wrong it's perfectly fine. It's also a great place for fishing. im in Victoria rn in Lock down😭 keep up the content
Bro this is nothing!!!!!!!!! There much much more... When I finally get back to reality I will sort some things out and then do some planning to do massive beach, water and island clean ups all over Indonesia.... Sadly most of the trash comes from the oceans current and a lot of it ain't from these islands.

Not that you'd catch that many more (although sometimes that's the case, but it about evens out over time), but, since you know it's better for the fish to use singles, you might wanna get some VMC 9020PS live bait hooks in 3/0 for small lures like that... and put them on with two interconnected size 2 HD split rings per hook, which can also be gotten for relatively cheap. I don't know if the dull silver Perma Steel finish (which I think looks less suss to fish than black hooks) is directly available in Oz, but if you get them on American Ebay (imported from France, cuz for some reason we don't directly get the Perma Steel finish that is so popular on trebles either, on those singles), they would still be cheaper than in-line singles, even with shipping, if you ordered enough to share... and, the 3/0 9020PS live bait hooks are at least as small as 1/0 inline singles, but significantly stronger than those, even though they are said to be "1x" live bait hooks, as opposed to so-called "4x" or "7x" lure hooks. Ditto for the size 2 HD split rings (if River Guide Supply still sells those on Ebay)... although you'd want twice as many of those as you get hooks. Anyway, can't say that I've ever had the 9020's open up on 30 lb test braid, pushed hard, and the double linked split rings are unlikely, because of double the shock absorption, to open up... even though they are "just" HD, not "Hyper" (costly) or anything.
@@CavyFishing Yeah, just don't ever bother with the Mustad or VMC inline singles that small, cuz they ain't really strong enough. The #2 heavy duty split rings look like they've gotten harder to come by anyhow, yet you'd need to go that small to keep those live bait hooks swinging instead of sticking on the split rings. I suppose it could be worth going with a few Hyper-heavy-dude-y $plit rings in size 2, on a few small, heavy lures, with 3/0 9020PS live bait hooks, though... for heavier spinning gear than 30 pound test... because those hooks are probably up to it... more-so than what's available in trebles that small. (For when the big ones want the little ones, that is.)
@@CavyFishing FWIW, I got it wrong when I recommended two linked size 2 HD split rings, for the 3/0 VMC 9020PS live bait hooks, cuz it turns out that what I've been using is two linked size 2.5 HD split rings for those, that are supposedly 37 pound test, and which RiverGuideSupply DOES still sell on 'merican Ebay. So you COULD get a friend in Hawaii to order hundreds of those, and one hundred of those 3/0 hooks from another vendor, and any other hard-to-come-by-down-yonder items, and mail 'em all to you in a single packet, if you wanted to treat your little lures to some full force fussing.
If you are able to get to central Sulawesi, maybe check out the Bada Valley Megaliths. These things are a real mystery, and don't get a lot of attention. If you ask the local folks about them (who made them, how old are they, what the local myths are), you will open your channel to a whole new online world of interest.
