Ultra Rare Bruce Lee Top 10 Collectibles from Steve Palmer's Bruce Lee Collection.
In this episode, I feature a Bruce Lee video Steve Palmer sent me featuring his ultra rare top 10 Bruce Lee collectibles! Also at the end of the episode, I feature Bruce Lee photos of the little Dragon from his early years! Enjoy!
Steve Palmer out of Missouri, has been a Bruce Lee fan and collector since 1974, when he saw the re-release of Enter the Dragon in a double-bill of Enter the Dragon w/Hot Potato, a Jim Kelly movie. He was 11 years old at the time and even at that early age his parents could see how important Bruce Lee was becoming to him.
Since then he read dozens of books about Bruce Lee and collected hundreds of Bruce Lee posters, magazines, books and toys, all in an effort, to better understand this man he never met.

Another great top 10. Love the double sided poster and essay. "I'd buy that for a dollar!" Have to agree with the other UK guys on Bruce's book as no1, since it was something that he personally worked on. Also strange that while Wong Jak Man and his group were there having a go at Bruce. They didn't have a go at James Yimm Lee too for putting 300lb white guy Al Novak on the cover of his book. And giving away the "secrets" to the gwilo as well. Can't wait for next weeks show.

Thanks Charles. Glad you like the point about Al Novak. I know a lot has been made about the altercation between Wong Jak Man and Bruce including the mistaken belief that Bruce's back was injured in the fight ( Dragon-Bruce Lee story and Chinese TV series) and the appalling Birth of the Dragon. But Wong didn't go and see Ed Parker after the published the Secrets of Karate in 1963. I have a copy, (my Mum bought to for me for 20p) and it gives the entire history and secrets of the Shaolin Temple. I think that Ed would have given a similar response. So really I think either Wong was trying to make a name for himself or he was set up by the Chinese elders.

Your welcome brother! All false facts. Strange why not keep as close to the truth as possible when it comes to Lee's life! I guess need to dramatize it for the movies! (Wow amazing that you have that book! Congrats! very rare!) After reading Matthew Polly new Book, Bruce Lee: A Life! (great book by the way - have you read it?) Sounds like Wong Jak Man was simply sent as to representative by the Chinese Elders and all who took offense at Lee statements and demonstration at the Long Beach Tournaments in the 60's-knocking the traditional styles of the past!

All started for me around 2001 when I was 5 years old watching Bruce's films on a Saturday night with my grandfather who was also a big fan. I remember how excited I was and always had to watch two Bruce movies back to back! Tried to find anything Bruce related and find out more about the man and luckily there was a guy on my street who lived across the road who was a massive fan used to let me borrow his documentaries on VHS so I could find out more then serious collecting started when I was 15 and still going! Had the pleasure of speaking to many Bruce Lee fans and collectors from around the world including yourself who continue to motivate me in my collecting and keeping Bruce Lee's memory alive just as Bruce has inspired me throughout my whole life!

That was an awesome episode! I really loved Steve's signed check! Bruce didn't sign too many checks that with good penmanship but this one is beautifully signed! I also loved the Chinese Gung Fu book and wall chart! I have seen Steve's websites in the past and really loved the one dedicated to the original 1963 Chinese Gung Fu book by Oriental Book Sales! Greetings brother Charles and Steve. Good collectibles. My favorite is the Gung Fu book. I donated that book to my a cultural center a few years ago. The slot machine is quite nice.
