Cerb room always goes one of two ways now. Either you know what you're doing and kill all 4 cerbs and the ferryman immediately, or you get thrashed around uncontrollably while the room gets filled with virtue beams and lightning
11:05 the swordsmachine on brutal difficulty now aim at you with the shotgun, you can even see them looking at you, and the shotgun was aways like that, you can test the damage you take on v2, if you take all the shots or only 1 shot it deals 25 damage
I literally asked hakita in youtube comment replys to buff the firestarter and here it is now. I know that i wasn't the one who made him do that, but it's just pretty funny
I made a video where I thought the knuckle blasters healing got heavily nerfed but it was just a bug where you couldnt be healed while dashing and blood spatters being really small
the gasoline exploding underwater is an awesome change but Also results in some very silly behavior: if you put some gasoline on ground near water, ignite it, and then spray gasoline next to that but under the water, each bit of gasoline gets ignited instantly by the fire next to it and therefore explodes instantly since it's underwater,, so you get a stream of constant explosions which can deal an absurd amount of damage :) (very situational of course and probably a bug, but it's funny)
On Violent and below, SMs will shoot directly in front of them. On Brutal, they aim at the player instead of whatever's in front of them. It does the same damage. They will also use ranged attacks when enraged
As for the whole firestarter making enemies take more damage, this only applies to husks. Meaning that all small fodder husks, along with the corpse of king minos and insurrectionists take more damage while on fire from the firestarter (take note that ferrymen are also husks but do not take extra damage for some reason).
It's funny how this only really applies to Insurrectionists and Corpse King because everything else (aside from schisms if you're somehow lucky and fast enough) will just die from the explosion or dies from the fire before you are able to use the bonus damage
No? Insurrectionists takes less damage from fire specifically but takes more damage from other sources when on fire??? Edit: he corrected himself 2 seconds after I hit send
"increased damage of fire on gasolined enemies from 0.2 to 0.5 per tick" sounds like oiled up enemies take more fire damage, which is probably what people are talking about, not all damage increasing.

I think that's the "+Arsenal" style bonus, since Mayo (aka UnderTheMayo) was someone who made a review of ULTRAKILL, where one of his biggest (and most controversial) points was that the default revolver was overpowered and that there was no incentive for weapon swapping. A meme category of this called "MAYO%" was also made where you go through the game with only the default revolver.
The jackhammer nerf isn't so bad, it can still do just about everything it could before, some things just take a slight bit of extra work now. The cooldown nerf is hardly even noticeable if you use multiple jackhammers
Fire starter is still weak as hell. 0.5 damage is pathetic. It should just add the 50% damage to burning enemies people claimed it does so it has a niche. Even if you want a fire and forget weapon, both the red nailguns do 10 damage within a few seconds baseline. Chainsaw does 4.5 per impact if you're using the feedbacker. Hell chainsaw just holding RMB does 4.5 damage a second (nearly 10 times as much as the firestarter) and the chainsaw holding RMB is weak. If it did 2 damage per second it would STILL be one of the weakest options in the game and not even remotely worth the time spent peeing oils on them. Jump start can do over 50 damage within a few seconds combined with overheat, 1 shotting every non-boss in the game. Its still broken. Jumpstart's aoe baseline is the same damage as post-nerf non-green jackhammer. The balancing in this update is just all kinds of whack. Everything is broken or absurdly underpowered. Even the nerf to jackhammer barely matters; just end your whip with knucklebuster for +2.5 damage and you're doing more damage than it did pre-nerf, killing everything in the same number of hits. Also the explosive oil with blood would be cool if it worked with the green railgun or something. Buff two underpowered weapons.
I tried p-ranking this level pre-patch and had nearly no luck.. My aim is absolute crap and Sisyphus kept beating the life out of me, although I don't have much trouble with him now
I mean.. the cerberus were a bit annoying pre-nerf, so.. I do believe the Nerf was needed. When i played 0-5 with the weapons unlocked in that stage, i had some trouble. 14 restarts to a level that's not supposed to be difficult for those who know how to play the game And I'm not gonna say anything about virtues
I'm glad to know that the 50% damage buff against burning enemies is unique to just the insurrectionist. Since every other enemy with a decent healthpool is immune to fire, I thought that was a global rule.
11:12 I think this is just how the swordsmachine shotgun always worked, since We get brief I-frames on hit. You only take damage from 1 pellet, so every pellet does full damage. I think it was just easy to miss before because they just aim their shotguns straight forwards on difficulties below Brutal, meaning they rarely hit their shots.
8:00 The Firestarter oil exploding in water is also applicable in some very shallow bodies of water, like the water in Gabe 2's arena, the water in the final room in 7-3, and even the pool of water in the middle of Agony and Tundra's room. Also if you set a small pool of oil next to the water and spray oil such that it is on the edge of the water and also gets ignited by the pool of oil, you can get TONS of explosions in rapid succession. It can do enough damage to kill Panopticon in one full oil dump (it can't be used on panopticon, but that still demonstrates how much damage it does)
Ill never understand people saying Sisyphus is the easiest part of P2. I reached him on violent on my very first P-2 run only with like 8 restarts, then proceeded to spend another 250 restarts on sisyphus until I had to go to bed for my own mental health. Still havent given him a second try because my head hurt that bad from it the first time.
I still want Hakita to update the second V2 fight with the new nailgun, shotgun, and the sharpshooter. Perhaps even in the future he could make him use the fists

uhh i think the damage on the SM shotgun isn't changed, its been like that in violent mode, it's just now, instead of SM firing the shotgun in front of him all the time, he now aims it, that's why it was hitting you more often
13:01 so the fire starter instakilled the hideous mass there. Think it’s because some of the oil was in the blood which counted as water so the oil exploded instead of burning.
since my parents dont want to buy ultrakill for me and im a teenager so i cant pay since i dont have credit card or money at all i had to use steam unlocked so i will have to stay in the pre-fix version with the op virtues, cerberus and ferry mans, i think this is actually going to make me get better, already p ranked p-2 this way but it took me a ton of time
I recall reading somewhere that burning enemies bleed more (meaning more healing). Is that a thing (for Insurrectionists or just in general)? If not, it could be a way to give the Firestarter some extra utility without running into the damage optimisation issue that Hakita mentioned.
