Is the BRS 3000 Ultralight stove worth the hassle? Let's test the lightest backpacking stove and find out!
UltraLight backpacking can become a little crazy but you shouldn't have to spend a ton of money just to shave a few grams from your pack weight.
This is certainly not an in depth or detailed gear review but we will take a look at the stability and cooking ability of this ultra light ultra compact cooking stove.
the best part of this quasi gear review is that we get to go out for a nice hike and cook up a wonderful backpacking meal.

Thanks for stopping by! I’m not completely convinced to put my JetBoil in the closet yet but the BRS has been proving to be a hearty lightweight companion. As for the noodles- I certainly have a weakness for Ramen 🍜

Thanks good sir! The Elk were pretty awesome to see. If I had a better nose I probably could have smelt them sooner. But that’s just my way, bubbling around having some fun. Cheers!

My 5 yr old and I used it on our hike this weekend and it worked perfectly. The BRS is proving to be a nice accompaniment when I don’t have room for my JetBoil.

I always keep a plastic bag in my backpack, so when i want to sit down I atleast keep my bum dry. Weights nothing and it’s a plastic bag so always useful. Wonderful little stove, it’s so small i would be worried about losing it right in front of me!

The bag trick is way too simple and obvious. I actually always have a spare trash bag for the “treasures” that turn up on the trail. Kinda lame that I never thought to sit on it 🤦🏼‍♂️

You seem to have your stove sat on a tree stump.. Every stove needs a wind break, be it rocks, a folding shield, or just the terrain. High up on a tree stump is not a good place, not to mention stability issues.

Great observation. And I appreciate the tip! Ordinarily I would have looked for a little more protected area but with how wet it was the stump was the easiest option to keep my backside dry by not sitting on the ground 😉 Thanks for the great feedback!
