This is fantastic. I would love to purchase this as a product. A version for the pocketboy 130 would be stellar.

I'm very close to finishing the bigger one, then I will make a 130 version. Stay tuned!

The saw handle looks great, I’ve been calling a Silky F180 for awhile now but this looks worthwhile to test.

I have the prototype at the Outdoor show this weekend. I probably need about 3 months to finish it up. It's pretty awesome.

The idea of replacing the handle of a folding saw is interesting. I use the saws of Silky Bigboy 360 and Gomtaro. For large logs, I have a 30 -inch bowsaw. Little saws completely satisfy me with their weight. But here, for example, Katanaboy 650, weigh too much. Although it can easily saw huge logs. What do you think about making a locking unit for large saws? The blade itself weighs less than 1 kg, and the handle could be made of wood in place. Only a locking mechanism is needed.I now think about this task. How to make such a design most elegant. It would be a real revolution in providing firewood.

I think there's a decent potential market out there for this product. Those who love their silky but are trying to reduce weight. People want this, they just don't know it yet. How's development going?

Oddly enough, final prototype should be done next week. It will likely be the final one, lots of testing went into this setup.

..awesome!.. I'm already in love. I was wondering about the palm fatigue, but you answered my question. Wonderful video. I can't wait to see how it evolves. I dig the fastening system, too. Simple and very effective. Thank you, fun stuff right here. Will be following with interest. Keep on keepin on

Awesome! I'm really loving this thing. And good to hear your feedback about the locking mechanism, that's an area where I feel some may not like as much as the original.

Why not just copy the silky grip in 2d shape? or curve it a little more the saw handles are curved the less fatigue, but that would decrease packability. Could you replace steel parts with titanium? I think this a great project 👍 👌

New version should be ready soon.

Looks like a nice design Steve. Big weight savings on popular piece of gear. Good luck with the testing.

Half the weight. That's good. Gomboys camp staple.

How do I become a tester? I frequently go on overnight kayak trips and this would be perfect for me! I've previously owned 2 Silky Gomboy saws, one was lost to the depths of the river, and the other is missing 1/4 of the blade due to breaking. It would be an honor if the opportunity is still available.

I don't have a prescribed process for being a tester of the gear. It's more just based on if you've done a bunch of very thorough and detailed reviews, coupled with lots of experience in the backcountry. And then just staying engaged on projects as they develop.

Any chance I can just buy one and you send it to new zealand??
