Ultralight Backpacking, Running the Wonderland Trail Mt Rainier / Hiking the Wonderland Trail

Our average was 24 miles/day (some do it faster!), but ah! If you know the Wonderland Trail, you know of its infamous elevation gain/loss. “Like hiking on a pie crust,” I read somewhere. By the end of the 3 night trip, we clocked in 22,000 vertical feet. We now fondly refer to this trip as “The Death March.”
This was ran two Septembers ago with Parker Matt Park, Brian Hiller, and myself (Beau), with invaluable support from Liz, Jerry, Dane, Sunny, and Juliette. Short film produced by myself, Knok Studio. Enjoy friends!

Filmed entirely on my GoPro Hero2 + a couple extra batteries & SD cards.

I would go do this right now but the parks are all shut down because of certain people... cough... and is it 97miles round trip or each way??? can't see it because the gov websites are also shutdown... $#@$#$@ #$#$%$%$##%$%#%$#$%% is all i have to say about that.... lol

Great job guys. I too completed the entire trail in 4 days (3 1/2 actually)the first week of August, 2013. Had a total pack weight of 19lbs at the start (9lbs gear/ 11lbs food). Probably jogged about 25 miles, but not necessary. Was easily in each camp by 4-5pm and finsihed at 2pm on the final day. Awesome experience! This year the Tahoe Rim Trail in 6 days. Thanks for sharing.
