Ultralight ''Combat'' Creek fishing (multi-species everywhere) 

Man. Having an insanely busy at work. Sat down for just a few minutes to eat a sandwich and catch a breath before getting back to work. Popped up RU-vid and saw your upload, something about your videos just helps me unwind. Peaceful and pleasant. I think it's the ultralight fishing that I like the most. Love your videos as it reminds me of my much younger years fishing little creeks with an old fashion cane pole! I relive fishing through your videos and really appreciate the frequency of your uploads as I want to go so bad I can almost taste them but I am stuck in the rocky mountains trying to sale my house so I can come back to the south and fish my retirement away!! :-)

Very good. My brother would always like fishing with an ultra light pole with small test line. He said he would like the way it felt when a fish got hooked. We would mostly fish with salmon eggs and an 8 hook. Really small. Fishin for rainbow trout up the northern fork, truckee river , Nevada. Keep up the good work! Stay safe!

Like that for me, I do a lot of bass fishing but there's something with grabbing 1 ul rod and exploring banks on foot. Even better when you bring a fly rod as your backup.

Nice video brother! While catching the big ones is nice, that's not what fishing is all about. Catching smaller fish on the ultralight is really fun and that's what it's all about.

Great vid! Can’t beat fishing for panfish in a creek. Those swimbaits look great, just ordered some to try on my local lakes and rivers.

I love catching a decent size largemouth on the Ultralight gear! I hooked in to a surprise 2lb largemouth in a creek last week, he slammed a red Nikko OCTOPUS!! and charged between my legs and under some brush. Thankfully (like yours) he stopped there and I was able to reach down and pull him out! NICE surprise!!

I think it would be fun to watch you make a series where you try to break the tennessee state record redbreast sunfish. It's only 1lb 5 oz. maybe research some spots that hold some huge ones and give it a try. I know I've watched you catch em that were close to a pound.

That one sixtyfour ounce jig with pound line has a great slow fall which almost like fishing a wet fly.

Good video. I love creek fishing. I've creek fished from New York State to Florida and it's been my favorite style of fishing. Your videos are sort of bittersweet to me as if fished creeks since I was 8 years old, bak in the 1960s. now in my 60s I'm disabled and can no longer 'bushwack' to get to creeks. I also studied aquatic ecology in college, but would up in surveying and engineering and wound up working in public utilities for nearly 30 years. A couple observations, generally if you see a pipe crossing a creek, the crossings are where there is a stable bottom, in other words, stable rock or in swampy streams, larger sandbanks. These structures tend to be good environments for fish if nothing else than for the amount of food the locations tend to attract. And if you're running into larger bass, whether largemouth, smallmouth spotted, or one of the more specialized bass species such as the Shoal bass, I've found that lures fished as topwaters will often provoke strikes. Lastly, even though you did quite well with the choice of lures, I would suggest that you look into Brewers Crappie Sliders and for bass, a standard Slider. Of course a significant benefit is that the lures can and usually are rigged weedless. Keep up the great videos.

That was a species of slider turtle. Had one as a kid from 7 years old until I was about 15. I was at school one day and my mom took it to a pond and released it because his aquarium smelled because I got a little lazy as a teenager and didn’t clean it as much as I should have lol but I’ll remember that turtle forever. The one you found reminded me of that.

Man, this is why I love your channel, you believe-in God, and you consistently upload creek videos, and basically all I have around me are crystal-clear creeks like these in a town of 47 people in Missouri.

I love ultra-lite stream fishing! First went back in the 80s with a friend in Ohio and been hooked ever since. Now I wade streams in Maine in retirement. SUBBED!

I'm addicted to ultra light fishin too . Your right , ultra light gear doesn't mean all you can catch are tiny fish . Caught some of my best fish on 2lb mono . We don't have many creeks in my area so we mostly fish ponds . Wading down a creek looks like a blast . Keep making these great videos , I really enjoy watching them when I can't go myself .

Yup, those are fun little moments. You need to go back with the smaller 1/64 gold jig and plastic creature and do everything you just did again.

Choosing to catch 50 little fish over possibly 1-5 big ones for the day , micro fishing is a lot of fun fersure!!

That was an excellent example of how good a multi species catching spree can turn out by just going UL on a nice small creek, that last catch was just amazing my fellow angler friend.

subscribed, i love micro creek fishing. once in a while, you pull bigger bass out of them too. I got some nice size ones before.

you did catch the diversity use like 6lb leader with the 2lb line? you could catch a 5 lb bass on ultralight but it would be a real challenge - use at least 4 lb line to give yourself a chance against bigger fish. i think that was almost the creek grand slam - you will probably run into some creeks with more diversity over the course of the summer but you are going to have to seek them out - i like how the fish you catch change as you wend on down a creek - i think you may be scratching the surface here #shenandoah sitrep #watersheds - you really should make and sell your own hellgramite lure - pour like 10 at a time - make them reg size and have a giant version - add actual freeze dried wild hellgramites for flavor #most diverse floats #hunting the wild giant bluegill #floating spider lure #fishfry

If it would have been legal I would have taken those Yellows and Whites home! You should try some small to medium plastic Craws to see which fish would be interested.

We wear surf shoes from Walmart they are awesome, I stepped on a glass bottle and broke it!!! And it didn't cut me so yeah good product

Put some felt soles on an old pair of tennis shoes. They're comfortable and will give you good traction on the slick rocks.

Josh...The bent tree was curved that way by Native Americans. By the size of it, it is probably 150-200 years old! The used these as markers. Maybe to that stream, or pointing to something else! Trail markers. Put there probably by the Hopewell!

If I remember correctly, this is the place where you were walking out of the Mexican Restaurant with your leftovers in hand. Right? LOL... Ever since then, I've brow beat you with the taco comment. ha ha....But I remember this creek fondly as you caught the 3 pounder as the sun was going down that day. I am not surprised that this creek has the same action for you. I love this creek for some reason and I'm glad you came back to this one. This place and the place up by your sisters house that has that deep pool at the overpass are my two favorite places. Good stuff here John. Love it.

Why does everyone want to use 2 or 4 pound test line on everything? I never understood that, what if you hook the biggest PB fish of your life and snap your line because you used weak line? I never use anything below or above 8 pound test on any of my ultralights. 8 pound can handle anything your ultralight rod and reel can handle. I've even heard people use 1 pound test which I feel 1 pound is just stupid. I tried using 6 pound once and kept breaking it everytime I tried tying a hook on and I immediately ripped the line off my reel and put some 8 pound trilene onto it and I had no further issues. Not knocking those who ise weaker line (unless you use 1 pound test) I just don't understand using suck weak line.

The sunfish in my creek will only bite live worms... I’ve tried little beetlesipins, and other plastics... worm catches a fish every cast.

I had the craziest catch today..light rod 4lb line lil green rattletrap..i stopped for a moment let it float back up..jerked it a couple times an a nice sunfish smashed it topwater..it was awesome

Them combat baits are some fish catchers. I like them small swim baits heck I like the look of them all. I want to get some of them and try them I know my kids and me could catch the heck out of them here in Alabama. I want to say thanks and I appreciate all that you have learn me and just cause it is a small creek it can still hold fish so thanks.

Totally get the preference for ultralight creek fishing. A nice creek is a magical place to be. All the critters and natural surroundings to look at draw me back time after time. Wading in a pair shorts and catching nice fish 5 ft away in clear water with light tackle is such a thrill.

Ultralight fishing creeks is SO MUCH FUN. It will also make you a much better fisherman. Thanks for recording your adventures and bringing them to us.
