Extremely helpful. Today I discovered a case of complete placenta previa with accreta ( on usg) Favourable findings supporting accreta were.... placental lakes , thinning of retroplacental space . Adviced MRI.

Awesome job Pretorius! Great teaching lecture on a very - growingly important - topic. Why, despite many fewer grand multipara? Is it the gross adption of single layer uterine closures at cesarean section? A good fellow paper, maybe with Silver and Branch data.

2 is not exactly placental lakes as lakes are normal, its better to say placental lacunae (with bizzare shape, irregular margins and turbulent flow) are pathological and most important sign for morbidly adherent placenta.
