I am 21 years old and just had a breast biopsy done two days ago. I was so nervous and terrified before the procedure because I absolutely HATE needles and have a very low tolerance for pain. I am happy to say that all went well and I honestly felt nothing at all! Once I was all numbed up I didn't feel a thing. I was a bit dizzy afterward (just because I am a huge wuss) but other than that, it went great. The next day I did feel an annoying 'pain sensation' throughout the side of my breast but it wasn't bad enough for me to take medication for. Just a bit sore. If you are going to get this done and are super nervous for it like I was, just don't worry too much. It's not as bad as you might think:)
How are you feeling now ? Did it have any side effects on your beast??? I heard that it s not safe to have it ans am very nervous now i will have a biopsy next week. I wish yoi can answer me. Thank you so much
KaTyEjOrDyN hope all goes well I had breast cancer 9 years ago it was aggressive I had a mammogram done every year as you don’t get all clear until 10 years then 3 weeks ago found a small lump in the left breast which I knew once I looked at there screen also they don’t do core biopsy for a cyst as I feared a tumour now I’m waiting to hear if it’s benign or cancerous yes they numb you I got stitches but they wii dissolve no lifting house work for 4 days so I. Just doing basic but they are nice I’m terrified of operations but think everyone is and they will probably remove lymph nodes again if it’s aggressive cancer wish me luck x
SouthSound, thank you so much for putting this video on the web. I am not a patient in your practice (probably like many others), but am going to have this type of biopsy. The information is clear, nonthreatening and easy to understand. Knowing what to expect is half the battle. I am sure many benefit from this well-done video.
Just had this procedure performed two hours ago. The anxiety was definitely worse than the procedure. I felt absolutely no pain and it was over within a matter of minutes.
I just had an ultrasound last week to check out a lump on/in my breast. The doctor is now recommending that I have a Core-needle breast biopsy next week and I AM SCARED! I just got over having breast cancer a year ago in that same area. I shouldn't be so scared, because i have had 3 biopsies of the sort already. It hurts to have it done, but it is not that bad after they numb you with pain medication in the breast region. My best friend, Cathy will be there in the room with me (once again.) Asking that you pray that I don't have breast cancer again and that all it is is scar tissue!!!!!l Thanks: Hilarie
I had a ultrasound-guided breast biopsy today, and had NO PAIN. I am a real baby when it comes to pain and was terrified about this procedure. Only once did I say ouch and then the dr. gave me more lidocane. Not sure how to spell it! This dr. was so careful because he didn't want to cause me any pain. Never looked at the needle once.
I’m 20 and I had mine done today. I was so nervous until I watched this video and it didn’t seem too bad, it helped me prep myself. In my procedure they cleaned it multiple times and then injected numbing medicine and handed me a stress ball (which definitely came in handy) They waited only 3-4 minutes and then they started getting other needles and jabbing it to scrap the cells off. So it took about five needle jabs and boy do those hurt. I felt the sharp needle inside me going in and out but I didn’t feel it initially going in. I was able to see it on the ultrasound machine as they were doing the procedure. They didn’t place any metal markers In me because it’s an obvious lump.
Just had the ultrasound guided breast biopsy. Your video describe my experience exactly. Thanks...it's comforting to know that the procedure is standardized.
I had my ultrasound guided biopsy today.I was very scared and nervouse but after they numbed me I did not feel pain. They also kept giving me anesthesia as the doctor took samples. You will be ok, Im the biggest baby when it comes to pain and It was not bad :)
I had this procedure done today and it did suck. I am glad it's over. It is a very odd sensation to have an object inserted in to your breast. I am glad I watched this video after my procedure:)
I want to know why you have to have a mammogram after they put the markers in your breast to locate the area? In my experience mammograms are painful because of how far they have to compress your breast to get an accurate view. With this marker in your breast wouldn't it just break inside your breast if they compress it down as in a usual mamogram? Would really appreciate a response to my comment. Thank-you.
I never realized how many people go thru this procedure. What were the majority of the results on these kind of biopsies? I mean if it turns out to NOT be cancerous. What happens with the lump in breasr? Do they just leave it be? Mine hurts all the time 🤕
Melinda Banks Isom good luck they will look after you it’s rare in young women I’m 58 I had a tumour at 47 waiting for results in my tumour in the left but god bless you hope everything fine they d9 explain every detail to you very nice oeople
Thank you for sharing. I live in a lot of pain due to a Car accident and I'm so afraid of the pain. Procedure is tomorrow. I know God will heal me of the cancer but the biopsy is freaking me out.
Does anyone know anything about an association that can help with the expensives of the biopsy? I already had mammogram and ultrasound from my breasts, and now I need a biopsy but is to expensive $1000 for the biopsy and $100 to $1000 for laboratory work.
Had one done today.. and it was painful.. the anesthesia didn't take very well had 2 doses.. ouch. Felt nausea onset after the 2nd sample taken so dr only took 3.. my breast is tender 12 hours later.
I just had nine done on july 9 2015 it doesnt hurt the only painful thing is when their numbing you ... after the procedure thwy had to do a mamogram because they placed markers when the lumps are that way in future appt they know they have been checked ...when i was standing for the mamogram after the procedure i got so dizzy and nauseaes almost wanting to faint i think it had to do with the anesthesia but im not sure my boob is still in little pain from one of the holes because it was right under my armpit .. but other then that its not painful u just experience a little burning i get my results on monday so pls send prayers my way ..29 yeara old
I had a breast biopsy last November & they didn't do ultra sound on my breast before the procedure. And it was really painful! And when they gave me the result they said that they didn't find anything on my breast and they had to do it again...
Hygiene....a doctor doing this in his long sleeved private (when was it changed last time???)shirt and the tie dangling dovn....??? No wonder there is post procedures infections!!! BAD medical practice!!!
