WHY the match layer should be 1/4 fo the PTZ?
@MMI445

According to an article on the "Probo medical" website, "Why Does an Ultrasound Probe Need Matching Layers?", matching layers with a size larger than 1/4 of the wavelength of the ultrasound attenuate the ultrasound more. I guess it has something to do with the amount of ultrasound that is absorbed by the matching layer depending on the wavelength/frequency of the ultrasound. Though it could definitely be something else.

can we use FR04 as matching layer???? and if yes, then what should be the thickness of matching layer if thickness of piezo crystal is 0.5mm?
