Well kinda same here, i'm 24 now but got to know ultravox and other 80's artists through my dad and gotta say: i love these songs/bands alot more than the music they make today😅
I’ve always loved the confidence of Midge’s voice. He goes for it, hits the high notes and has charisma to burn. And having seen him twice live on his own, he still has it, which is more than can be said for many of his contemporaries. Amazing feat really when you consider he played with Thin Lizzy and all the stuff they were into. Great musician, great band and there’s something very understated and classy about Ultravox. I guess that the quality of the writing and delivery. Don’t make em like they used to
IMO the best 80s band ever. An even blend of synth and acoustic instruments. Billy Currie’s haunting synthesizer and piano melodies with Midge Ure’s voice and lyrics put them head and shoulders above everyone else.
I’ve been listening to Billy play his ARP Odyssey since the albums first released and he sounds just as amazing every time. Thank you Billy Currie and Ultravox.

Ultra Vox set the standards for synthetic music sounds as an orchestral reality. This is the band that Depeche Mode built their act from. Ultra Vox preceded Depeche Mode by 7 years, and remained positive and uplifting on a base of incredible musicianship and vision. Sounds great in 2019.
Just been to see Midge Ure Gig in Bristol tonight, and he performed this as well, if not better with two other instrumentalists, check out his concerts for 2019 - awesome show!
Live. They got up and did it. And it's brilliant. It's not done these days because todays superstars simply cannot perform without technical support, a hidden orchestra and a choir. Oh...and a whopping unjustified paycheck.
