Ultros (2024) is the psychedelic metroidvania from indie developer Hadoque. Released on PS5/PS4 and PC via Steam and Epic, the mind-melting action-platformer is getting some well-earned buzz. I wondered how the game would perform on a stock 8 GB Atari VCS. With a few tweaks to the graphics settings, Ultros performed well and is very playable. I enjoyed the demo so much that I picked up the physical release for PS5. Still, it would be great to see a native port on the VCS.
