The knot that you are tying to the hook is called an "Egg Loop" knot. It is a common snell knot for salmon and steelhead fishing. The main line can be pushed back through the eye of the hook and bait can be placed into the loop along the hook shank, then pull the main line to cinch it. I also use this for fishing for catfish when using chicken livers.

@@TrustM3Bruh did you miss the part when I asked if it was in case of catching large sharks also? So yes I do know there are other fish in the ocean. I kinda wanted to also know what other species that would go after the same bait in that area.
