So this is all apparently canon: -Parappa has kissed PJ before -Parappa usually gives Katy foot rubs -Lammy used a baby as a guitar -Lammy was about to get kinky with the guitar shop owner -PJ accidentally killed Lammy and didn't care -Parappa was checking out Sunny -Joe Chin tried to profit off of the environment twice -Master Onion's dojo went out of business -Parappa's mom was one of the firefighters in the background, but she was never seen again. She might have died on the job.

Pointless to make cutscenes that just mirror Lammy's, difficult to make alternate justifications for why he's doing all the same things... Why bother? I'd say the cutscenes are the 'canonical' look at what Parappa was doing during Lammy's little adventure, while the gameplay is more 'what if it was Parappa doing these things?'
Parappa's stages were originally going to be completely different (and actually related to the cutscenes) to Lammy's stages according to an early screenshot of the game showing Parappa and PJ selling (what looks to be) Milkcan merchandise (T-Shirts, etc).
A fireman who is not doing a thing to put out the fire, instead raps with PaRappa while letting a building burn and no other fireman is trying to do it, INSTEAD they dance along, they should be fired Then PaRappa goes to a daycare and somehow meets a baby which can sing while the nurse does not bother to rap and uses the singing baby against PaRappa, then he go and grabs a baby which he wont need to sing with, then after a while, he spins the baby around while rapping We then see PaRappa in a fast food place, his friends are talking about a band and somehow PaRappa's thoughts about the members can actually touch him, AND WITHOUT EXPLANATION, PARAPPA ALL OF A SUDDEN IS IN A PLANE WITH A PERSON WHO CONSTANTLY CHANGES HIS TEMP AND SPEAKING SPEED BECAUSE OF A WIREBOX HITTING HIS HEAD WHICH KEEPS HITTTING HIM IF PARAPPA GETS WORSE. Commercials by Joe Chin play and they are actually relevant to the stage We are in a forest and PaRappa is cutting a tree and the beaver later admits he is doing it for fun, which is wasting trees if its not gonna become planks or paper We see PaRappa go to an instrument shop and wants some instruments for him and PJ and all of a sudden we are in a concert where the crowd acts like a wave machine in a pool and when PaRappa gets worse, SHE FUCKING PUNISHES HER CROWD AND PARAPPA WITH ELECTRICITY and then the crowd acts and shoot up as weird as fuck while PaRappa can somehow still rap normally without reacting to the shock (PaRappa is fucking immortal) We see a guitar styled like a mango and then we see PaRappa and PJ have an I.Q low enough but high enough at the same time to fucking ruin a good guitar and turn it into a different instrument and then all of a sudden like at the end of the PaRappa games, we see a concert and PaRappa sings like normal but we don't get an explanation why we are at a concert Then we see the drummer with the Joe Chin laptop, then somehow gets frustrated and uses the drumsticks on the computer while destroying it and making a good beat
One correction: The pilot doesn't change temp when you get worse. It's part of the song. According to the creator when questioned via email, they like the idea of Katy and Lammy interestingly enough, and would consider touching on that subject if they were to ever made another Parappa or Um Jammer game. Then again, Katy also wrote a song about having a guy breaking her heart 47 or 48 times so it's not hard to believe she'd swing both ways. ...Or she just likes foot massages.
