Dude, I totally rebuilt my TR50. Remove the valve block, change the firing pin, added a tuning barrel. No pumps over 25 joules and I still get 12 shots per canister. Devastators will shoot right through 1/2 ply. My homemade ball bearing rounds go through and through on steel cans or penetrate a coconut. Shaped rounds are not possible in hdp50 or 68.
👍🏻 got one of these and bought some tuning parts like a valve, steel barrel ,aluminium drum and ammo mold. Blows 1/2” holes through 3/8 plywood and blows coconuts apart. And they cost £120. In U.K.
@@Diazmig003 yes but it’s not on RU-vid. There’s plenty of videos out on the hd lineup. One good guys channel is Rune Rebel. Shows lots of mods and testing for Umerex HD lineup
Get a blank firer ekol viper 2.5 saw the blue barrel off and you can muzzle load 22 pellet slugs in the cylinder of the blank there perfect size in UK best thing you can get
Best review yet... i watched 100 videos and didnt really get any strait answerws ... my brutha thank U Im now convinced 100 % Wut do you feel abiut the 68 call version???
I just paid 175 for the 11 Joules version myself they also have different rounds I just ordered some Piledrivers looks about the same as the Devastator rounds or really similar but Idc if it Bulky I have the HDP 50 also but I know this is way more powerful
Only thing I dislike about Umarex HDP is that the quick pierce knob push button at the end of the handgrip has bumped & pierced 3x unexpectedly where I carry it & once when I dropped it in my mattress & it bounced onto floor & piercing CO2. Next day had to do some target practice and good news is: seals held it for 3 days until I got more rounds to target practice all the air . Cheaper than Byrna, but Byrna's 1st trigger pull pierced the CO2 bottle and it's clean streamlined no button exposed to prevent accidental bump piercings.
The design is to activate when you need it... It's never designed to hold the pressure over days.. You risk the gun leaking when you need it the most... Co2 damages the seals over long periods..
@@paintball_assistant Yep. The good thing about Umarex is that there are alot of power upgrades available & some custom parts. Umarex T4E paintballs (made & designed for it) .50 ...like the 2nd, 3rd shot breaks & jams or fouls it up . The 1st shot goes through. Don't recommend paintballs for it. I opened it up to clean it & lost a spring. Ordered online kit. Now up & running. Rubber-Steel balls rock 🪨
@@jajabinks92123 so I have an injection molding company and we made a 50cal mold and a 68cal mold and our rounds shatter against a brick wall so they don't hit bounce but will go through a cars windscreen (windshield) ... Solid hard plastic not an abs. Not a nylon..
It is useful in a very close distance with rubber balls. Like 2/3 meters where you know you can target the face only.. With steel or aluminum is more reliable maybe. I have Umarex HDR50 13J... for defense only works shooting to the face. The body can be hurt, but in a situation of euphoria and risk of life as in a defense situation.. i think wont stop nobody shooting to the body
Nice review! But I don't think it's good idea to carry TR50/HDR50 as you can be charged with brandishing a gun if you take it out (not to metion getting shot by police who might think you are a bad guy with a gun). OC pepper spray is much better option for defensive carry. My main use for TR50/HDR50 is to complement my 12 gauge at home where it can serve as "less lethal" option for home defense.
So 7.5 joules look strong enough for home defense. You can never be %100 sure of course but it looks like it will give some pain to the intruder especially when shot with the ''devastator'' stuff. So many people commenting about what is what, it's confusing. Your video was more enlightening. Thank you
@@lukewakefield1510 Some people care for Correct Terminology. Precision is everything in some fields, especially if it involves the Legal realm or airguns versus real Firearms, Holmes.
@@lukewakefield1510 Yea whatever potatoes tomatoes, holmes. Go have fun with yer "bullets" in yer little airgun, man.🤣 We all know what the bro meant...it's funny how u react & react. Chill. Get a fidget toy. Try the .68 hd shot gun...people put different rounds in that one. Have a blast man
"Round" refers to a cartridge assembly: case, primer, charge and bullet. "Bullet" refers to the projectile, and in an airgun like this one, it's the only part in the cylinder. So "bullet" is correct.
Looks powerful enough to me. Maybe it depends on how we describe home defense. And also, depends on the country that you live in. This looks like it's going to be painful on human flesh and make you gain time in a situation like that. Imagine shooting the intruder with a steel devastator bullet version.
@@jasonsmith8570 you might want to change your mind then if you live in the UK like me. You can ONLY own the 7.5 joule version, anything above this will be illegal to own. If you modify it in anyway and you get caught by the police they will prosecute you for owning an illegal firearm! Which means serious jail time. Not worth it at all in my opinion mate. Hope this helps
