I just got this Trevox and I have to say I really like it. I always enjoy your style of review I like that you do not sugarcoat these guns. We want the truth. Some are pure junk and we don't always know unless we can learn. Thanks for your good work. I won't buy an airgun unless I watch a review from you. I might add I am 64, cocking this Trevox gives me a nice workout. I highly recommend this pistol.
Another great video brother, I really enjoy watching them. I love the hobby, shooting really can take your mind off everything. My wife of 14 years just told me we should get separated. She told me this on our anniversary last Thursday.. :-( So I guess I'll be shooting a lot more now.........Again I appreciate your work, thanks!
Hi JC, I didn’t know you also wore a jacket, another excellent review.Umarex Trevox another good pistol for a lot of fun with quality and for little money. Triggers are always the main negative points in these types of weapons.but has a solution.Good job in restoring the kitchen, all the best, my friend.
Luis, how are you buddy? Yes, the only way I can afford those upgrades in the house is by doing my own work. Yes...occasionally I am forced to wear a jacket 👍😉
Never been a big fan of breakbarrel pistols myself. Mainly them being quite long - for obvious reasons of course. Seen thru the years this one break barrel pistol on the market that has a thin steel barrel and a wooden grip/body. Comes with plain open iron sights. Often only 40 bucks or so. But never gotten interest to buy one. Then there are the Gamo and a Benjamin break barrel pistols of course...but never gotten interested really. Only shoot my Beeman P17 whenever not using co2.. But. This one do seem way cool. Really like the muzzle break "handle". Looks good - and works as a very good grip for cocking. And that pistol grip do seem very ergonomic. I bet it feels good. Modern plastics truly has gone far.. Saay... After testing out these accurate airguns on a splatter target .... do you ever also take out the DPMS to finish off those targets?.😁😁😁
JC Thanks again for all your times spent making videos . We don't buy any gun you have not reviewed. Thanks again for your service. Ordered pistol today. Gary Blain Texas
I have one and found it accurate even with lousy trigger. Pretty powerful. A good pellet for accuracy is the Meisterkugeln 7 gr. My go to pellet for accuracy and shoots clean . The ubiquitous Crosman are cheap and pretty accurate . I hate blister packs . The best surprise was the Diana Chaser co2 pistol that comes with a case and foam insert, has multi shot mags. TheTrevox is priced about the same and should come this way. A multi shot mag in a pistol with the power of the trevox would be a nice option. With 22 ammo being expensive and unavailable, air pistols like this are a nice plinking option. I personally would pay more for this pistol with an adjustable trigger.
❤ this umarex trevox, I didn't modify the trigger, but after 400 to 500 rounds of shooting my trigger went from full long trigger pull to half trigger pull. Safety does not work until pushing trigger forward then press safety button .Trigger works great now! Did anybody else experience this? Maybe it's better to leave trigger alone and let it break in itself. Took a little over 2 weeks to break my trigger in. Hope this helps someone!
Great review once again. I caught you saying "lucky" on your 1st shot but I beg to disagree. All the videos I watched from you, you seem to make all guns shoot well - all the time.
Best rounds for penetration is the 177cal Gold Flight Rounds and the 22cal Red Flight Rounds try them some time I think you'll be quite impressed with them especially in the Break Barrel guns with a little oil behind the round after properly seating the round one Break Barrel Piston Rifle that shoots Dieseled Red Flight Rounds with out damaging the gun is the Beeman Duel Caliber Piston Rifle which is a Beast of a airgun as a matter of FACT a owner of this particular airgun shot his 10 Thousandth shot last year that was still shooting over 800 FPS now that's a hell of a survival airgun and for around $110.00 you can't beat it !!
Great review. Very informative. I clicked on your affiliate link to Amazon and Pulled the Trigger. I was especially sold on this gun due to your info on the trigger and appreciate your warning about doing it. I am confident to do this as I actually made my living as a gunsmith for over 20 years. I actually already have a Umarex rifle, the Ruger Targis .22. The trigger on it was pretty bad too. I adjusted the stock over travel screw, but did nothing to lighten the pull. I then made a trigger shoe using a plastic material called Instamorph. It is plastic beads that you heat in almost boiling water. You can mold it into shape while it is hot. I molded this stuff around the trigger and shaped it to give more surface area for my trigger finger. It helped a Lot. Trigger is still heavy, but it breaks clean and does not "feel" as hard. Thanks again for your time posting this video. Subscribed.
Thank you for mesuring the sound of the gun, it's really an important point for me if i want to plink in my yard or garage and i don't want SWAT to show up lol
Nice pistol, of course I can`t find any here in Canada, just yet. I do own the Benjamin NP Trail pistol it`s a tad heavy but it also shoots rather well.. I`ll be looking for one of these Umarex Trevox pistols. Thanks for this review JC. Cheers
Wow can’t believe you just released this I was thinking about picking one of these up this weekend. How would you compare the umarex Trevox to the Benjamin trail np pistol which do you think has the most power and the better build quality and the trigger of course?? 😂
Hi John, very nice review. I think there was one more plus to the positive to go along with the price, it has a gas piston. In addition, the standard deviation was pretty darned good In my opinion. It's kinda funny seeing you in a jacket, and I think it's A first since I've subscribed. And although I don't consider you wimps, on this past Wednesday morning I woke up to 6 inches of snow on my back deck. I guess its a good thing I didn't put the snow brush away. 🌨❄⛄ Thanks for sharing, and God Bless, Greg
Great review JC! That gun is pretty cool. I too am also in the middle of a remodel but it’s our master bath; and I am doing most the work myself also. Looking forward to the next video 😎 - Justin
I love My Trevox and all My other break barrel air pistols . I just received a Snow Peak SP500 .22 caliber Break barrel air pistol that I highly recommend . Thanks for the amazing review.
I have one and the trigger pull is 6+ lbs and very long. I have not been shooting it because of the trigger so I will try the modification. I've had mine for a few years. I'll let you know how my mod project goes.
I see you shoot red dot with one eye, I use two, and seem to be more accurate that way - not that I can knock your accuracy. Thanks for (another) great video.
GOOD INFO. I GOT MY TERVOX AROUND 2017 AND THE TRIGER PULL WAS 7.8-7.5-7.9. I SAW ANOTHER VIIDEO ON THE SAM ISSUE. HE DID THE SAME FIX U DID AND A MORE. HE ALSO TOOK OUT THE VERY STRONG TRIGER SPRING. HE SHOWED HOW HE DID THIS, DIDN'T LOOK TO DIFFICUT. I THINK I'LL TRY IT. I WILL LET U KNOW WHAT CHANNEL HE'S ON. HAPPY SHOOTING.🔫🔫🔫🔫 I FOUND HIS CHANNEL[SHOOTING BOWS AND SLING SHOTS].
I've had the Trevox for around 2 years now. It's always been a problem child. It may be ok for plinking from a chair/shooting station but that wasn't the role I bought it for. I wanted to hit beer cans/bottles across the street (bad neighbors...) from 50 feet away. No matter what grip or stance I used the Trevox "bumped" off target when the gas piston slammed home. Gorilla grip or the loosey "artillery grip" both resulted in a 1 in 5 chance of hitting the target. Even using my fence top as a rest for the front of the gun didn't help much. Getting my eyes behind the Stock sights and even a red dot reflex? Same problem-BuMp-and-miss when hand held without a bench/shooting station. Totally unsuitable for the role I had in mind. I gave up on this pistol. (_Oo) Until I bought a $10 laser from Buck Rail and gave up on traditional grips/holds and getting my eyes behind sights or optics. Now I put the back of the Trevox against my chest or hip and put the laser dot on anything 50 feet away. The front of the pistol is gripped with the off hand and pulled close/tight. The laser dot doesn't move (much...) and squeezing the trigger gets 5 out of 5 hits. Each time with that distinctive Trevox "PhwOOt". (O_O) From problem child to my "GoTo" even at night. \(^_^)/
Love the gun, hate the trigger it's a good gun with a gas ram for almost nothing it's shoots good.. But I have to adjust the trigger if that's done it's perfect. Thank you for the trigger adjustment tip.. Good vid from a dutch fan.
That's another great review. Wouldn't it be great for the airgun manufactuers to begin buliding decent triggers for air guns? This pistol is a perfect example of a good gun with a crappy trigger. Wake up Umarex, Crosman etc.
Terry, so true...If I can modify it, you ask yourself why doesn't the factory? Such simple upgrades and it would not increase the cost. They just need to use the right parts from the beginning.
The Trevox looks suspiciously like the Ruger Mk1. I did modify the Ruger's trigger (easy fix). Really likes the Gamo red tips with several one shot kills on Red Squirrels out to about 25 yds. Price point on the two are about the same.
That was a bit of a rushed video. The pistol I had set-up failed on me at the last moment. So I had to shoot the entire video in one day and did the editing the same night, not to mention it was cold and windy. So put the remodel on hold for a day and was a bit exhausted. That is the dedication I have to you kind viewers. Thanks for tuning in!
Great review as always JC! I have been buying some of these piston pistols lately! Looks like a good one! Still wondering about the Gamo P900 and the Benjy Trail NP Mark II! Any information on those, Buddy?
Not much power with the P900 not sure on the Trail NP. Was trying to get one. I did pick up a Beeman QB78S for around $50.00 on Amazon. I purchased the 177 model. I am really impressed. Great trigger, 2 lbs out of the box. Great accuracy. A very solid feeling rifle. I will feature that this summer during my "Co2 Summer" series. I hope all is good buddy. I will be releasing a new review on Friday. A brand new product by a new airgun manufacturer. 😉👍
@@AirgunDetectives Great score on the Beeman! You always do great Co2 reviews. Maybe the Beeman with a TKO added Vs with the Umarex Fusion 2 .177? Re the Gamo p900, they seem to be very in consistent in power. 2 reviews claiming 450-506 and others claiming 340-360. I picked up my first magazine feed break barrel the New Bone collector on sale.It was that over the Crosman Magfire Ultra. On GTA read Crosman had feeding problems. Gamo has a Beautiful stock but scope has no AO, which sucks! Did I hear you say you you have one for review?
I've been looking for a winter pistol to hold me over until my CO2 powered Crosman 2240 is happy with the weather again. I'm debating between this and the Benjamin Trail NP Mark II. The power and accuracy of both perfect for my needs, but the built in suppressor on this makes it the leader. Appreciate your trigger modification info, I wouldn't consider this pistol without that option. Even getting it to 4.75 lbs. with a shorter pull sounds very acceptable.
@@AirgunDetectives Arrived today and I fired about 75 rounds through until it stopped dieseling. Love the heft, power and feel of this pistol. Unlike any other I've owned, and I'm 56. Not even sure I'm even going to modify the trigger because somehow giving Bigfoot a handshake to pull the trigger suits this gun perfectly. Added a MIZUGIWA 11MM Dovetail - 20MM adapter and a GoDreamIt Red Dot Sight, 1x28mm 4 MOA with Motion Activated Illumination. Fortunately for the local wildlife I only shoot inanimate objects. And yes, the price of accessories routinely exceeds the price of the gun if I love the gun. $140 total very well spent.
I love this gun it’s a great buy and built strong I was surprised very cool how you modified the trigger...I happen to like the heavy trigger go figure LOL great video ty glad to see you reviewed it, always look forward to hear what your gonna say 😀👍🏻
I wish I could buy one of your rifles, more knowing how you tune them. But I live in El Salvador and importing it would be difficult and taxes will be expensive. I have to learn how to do it and plan carefully before I can do business with you. Greeting from El Salvador.
I was always told w my pellet rifles to keep a hand on the stock AND the barrel after cocking in case the spring lock breaks cuz it will close the breech and you'll get a nasty pinch on your fingers if you're loading a pellet. Hope that helps. Nice review. Ty
Hey Carlos, this is basically the same gun with an expandable stock. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GiB7vWRMboU.html I tuned mine up since the video and it is now performing at the manufacture's specs.
Did Umarex change the trigger? I took out the trigger pin, it fell out along with the offending spring. Now there is no tension and the trigger pin will not stay and there is no 2nd spring as mentioned.
No it's the same. I have communicated with some viewers that recently purchased their Trevox and did the trigger mod. I would reassemble it and maybe try it again from the beginning.
I'm wondering if u did a disassemble/trigger job video, on this? Ok, I see not, but a description. Can anyone here tell me:. If u have barrel/trigger assembly out and laying on a table, with the trigger pointed upwards and curved trigger shape going to your right, and barrel points right, which spring do u remove? Thanks in advance!!
@@josephpeters2367 my error. I didn't do a video for the Trevox but I did provide information in the description under the video. My initial glance I thought we were talking about the Benjamin.
No....a large number of airguns come out of China, good ones and bad ones. I usually only emphasize the German made and the high-end models on their manufacturing orgin. 😉
@@AirgunDetectives Thanks for the response. As a consumer, I do wish to know it's origin. And if I'm the only one mentioning this. I'm sure other people feel the same way. I'm just the one saying it. I'm sure, other people are on board.
@@AirgunDetectives great thanks i have small pest birds that bring lice mess etc this looks like a good solution as long as i can aim right so the poor bird doesn’t suffer
