Bennett himself conducting! Wow this is a fair remastering.

It's Mr. Revelli's group, but your header ought to make it clear that Bennett himself is the guest conductor---then it'll turn up in searches. This is, BTW, before the 1949 piece was published, and was circulating among the top college concert bands "in manuscript," as they used to say.

I'm responding with my wife's google account (she's signed in!). I have a copy of this recording directly from the master tape - an open reel tape (monophonic) running at 15 i.p.s. recorded by WUOM Radio Station. I'm not sure why the heading says 1950, my copy was from a program in Hill Auditorium on January 8, 1959 - and it was conducted by the composer. I believe it is the same recording.

@@saragarrett28 Are you possibly confusing with Bennett's 1959 appearance to conduct "Symphonic Songs for Band"? (also here on RU-vid). RRB was indeed there in March 1950, American Bandmasters Assn., conducting "SOAD."
