Couldn't get into the MK's past 4, but those original 4 and a half (1, 2 ,3 ,UMK3, and 4, to me MK3 is half a game, UMK3 made it whole). If I play MK between games of King of Fighters, it'll always be the original arcade games, or their homeports that I also own (I have the arcade originals on PSN's MK Arcade Kollection, or on PS2 through various compilations or MK Armageddon's bonus disk with the incredibly glitchy UMK3, or UMK3 on DS). I remember seeing UMK3 the first time in arcades after seeing it in EGM, and playing the original MK3 alot, it was an incredible sight to behold as my boy Scorpion was back, I missed him.
I was a 14 when this came out and i learned if you beat the game and repeatedly hit the start button during the ending and credits the game would start back up with the character select screen... And arcade tokens were same size as nickels.. So id play umk3 for hours on a nickel lol

The cabinet on the right side where MK4 is running has the same button layout like the others? No side step buttons? I'm asking because I never used this function, maybe it's more important in 2 player mode, but vs the AI it's pretty pointless...

I don't see how you can do that. As much as I love arcade cabinets for their novelty value, the button placements and how you have to move your hand is just super inconvenient.
