I have a question, how did you feel in the environment of UMKC, considering that if you did not choose a BS/MD, you might have been able to go to a better-ranked college?

Love the content on your youtube channel Josh! You really help educate everyone on what medical programs are out there and what it takes to get there. If you ever have any questions about any other 6-year med programs in general please feel free to reach out!

As a national merit scholar, I can have my Bachelors degree paid in full. Unfortunately, with BS/MD I have to pay full price.🥺

@@mranderson1635 I’d definitely advise you to look into it more, but, at least when I was in high school, they used our PSAT scores as a proxy for choosing national merit scholars. Then if you reached a certain score and interviewed well you could become a “finalist.” Being a national merit finalist opens so many doors when it comes to college/higher education both financially and academically.

What if you were still in highschool,but also in a college system to get your associates degree early?Would you still be able to apply for the BS/MD program at UMKC?

Hi, I’m a student in the program, and as far as I can tell, you should able to. Just understand that some classes may need to be retaken depending on UMKC guidelines.

Lol Italian med schools are 6 years straight from high school, no undergrad needed. It's pretty similar to the UK's med schools. The only difference between Italian and UK med schools is that Ita schools only admit based on their medical test, no grades or extracurricular counted.

whaaaa that’s amazing
@Anay345
@Anay345 3 года назад
@Aka yes it is amazing its the best way to attend med school cause in Europeon countries they traditionally have 6 yr med school you can join right after your high school and after completing it you get a MD degree which is recognised all over the world also there schools are the schools whose rankings in entire world is less than 200, also they are really cheap.
@mranderson1635
@mranderson1635 3 года назад
Yes but you won’t make 600k USD a year in Europe as a physician. Getting into Medschool in the US is much harder than Med schools outside of US. We are the gold standard. That’s why if you can get into a 6 year program in the US, you have automatically entered the top tier and have an advantage above the rest
@michaelzeng77
@michaelzeng77 3 года назад
@@mranderson1635 there are pros and cons to both when it come to pay. In Europe we have almost no tuition fees therefore we don’t have to pay for student loans + interests. I’ve met Dr Richard Brown(plastic surgery) online last year and he’s managed to pay off student loans 10 years after finishing residency. The 6 year BS-MD course is definitely secure but in most cases it’s the traditional 8 year path. Also after the 8 years you have around 6 years of residency training which usually pays medical graduates less than nurses per hour. This is also the reason why the US has the highest physician burnout rate. Also the eu has disadvantages as most of the stuff is payed by the government meaning that you have less liberty with your money
@michaelzeng77
@michaelzeng77 3 года назад
Usually during US residency training most doctors arent able to pay off student loans because of the low pay so the student loans accumulate for those 6 years

Tbh… get a green card by getting married to an American, it will make things x10 easier. If you apply with a visa, oh boy… you’ll need to score much higher than all the American grads to get lesser positions at crap hospitals where training is subpar. Get married to an American and go to a well recognized school that is well know to the US like the big schools in India or Pakistan. They have better clout than the Caribbean schools and have placed students in better residencies from what I’ve seen.

The minimum education requirement to be accepted to the 6-year program is 12th grade, however there are a few each year that transfer from another university after one or two years of studying.
