According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), trafficking of young girls (younger than 18 years of age) has increased by 14% in the last decade and in 2014 alone, it increased by 65%. In one year, around 600,000 to 820,000 people migrate, out of which, 50% are children. Every year in India, around 135,000 children turn into child labourers. Association for Social and Human Awareness (ASHA) is an organization working in the Bhusur village of Ranchi district, Jharkhand. They provide residential education to children whose parents migrate to work in brick kilns. The organization started with 250 children, and today, they have successfully provided education and opportunities to more than 600 children.
The film is made under the Green Hub Central India (GHCI) fellowship, a project of Dusty Foot Foundation and Mahashakti Seva Kendra (MSK), that looks at empowering youth in environment conservation, sustainable agriculture and livelihood through the digital medium.
