If you think about it...the times she sees the plain text bubbles in these episodes Kamala has been confronted with something real and not living in the fantasy of everything is so great or could be so great because in those moments things aren't ok. Episode 3 she's come to terms with she might be disappointing these new people that she wants to help but doesn't know how and in episode 4 her best friend is upset with her. When she sees the fun text later in Episode 4 she's found out more about her abilities and has the hope that she can go back to helping and being a superhero.

Marvel continues to impress. Sure, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but the fact they’re giving us such a variety, and actually COMMITTING to the representation, makes them stand out. They’re consistently doing things they know won’t appeal to everyone because they’re invested in their expanded fan base. As a 50 year Marvel fan, I heartily approve of all of it. Give me more.

I love how you said at the and "so she's responsible for her own existence?" as she traveled back in time to 1942. We will see how things plays out at the end and episodes 5 and 6 are going to be epic. I sense that there will be so many nuggets and easter eggs for the MCU moving forward, especially for KK. I hope (my gut feeling) is that she ends up being an Inhuman! That will allow for Black Bolt and the Inhumans to come into the MCU.

I'm Filipina-Japanese, but I grew up a majority of my adult life here in the US. The whole episode 4 reminded me of my trips to the Philippines as well! I teared up as well! And that scene in the end where the father is giving his son all his money to flee and telling him that he's too old to travel reminded me of my grandmothers story where her father gave her and her little brother all their money to flee away from the Philippines while he stayed and fought the Japanese when they invaded in WW2. I couldn't watch the rest cause I was so busy crying and I miss my grandmother

I thought these two episodes were great. I am really enjoying this whole show. The costumes, music, and creative effects are incredible. I really like that we got more development with Kamala's family in these episodes. Her interactions with her family and friends really make the show for me so far. The wedding was great, and the daughter-mother-grandmother dynamics were illuminating (pun intended). I like the way they are teasing out the explanation of her powers as well. I can't wait for more episodes.

agreed that the visual flair of the first couple of episodes was lacking in episode 3 which made it feel a little underwhelming for me, but the emotional core of Kamala and her family/friends was still strong so it's still floating high in my esteem! and episode 4 was so damn good! i love Red Dagger in the comics and he makes for a wonderful foil/ally here! also, the fight/chase sequence at the end was Hawkeye level good! and Naani is utterly delightful (just like the rest of Kamala's family). (also, not sure if you caught it, but in the flashback at the beginning of episode 3, the floor of the temple where they found the bangle had the Ten Rings symbol on it! cool Easter egg or is there a greater link between them?)

Okay, but Only Murders in the Building is REALLY GOOD. And Season 2 just started really recently on Hulu, so that's probably why it was all over Disney+ when you were trying to find Ms. Marvel.

I am inclined to agree with you that Kamala will likely save her grandmother. Its funny, between you and New Rockstars (E. Voss, MT, et. al) I get the impression that the various physical spaces, the various universes, and now even the various dimensions within all this must play roles in how Kang can manipulate time so that he can both know everything in advance but then also need to experience the journey to truly understand everything. But it will also lends itself to positive outcomes in Kamala's journey of self discovery and using her powers, which seem to rely heavily on a need for her to understand the importance of who she is fighting for: her genetic family, her ethnic family, her multicontinental family, her dimensional family, and her universal family. She has so many connections to this world, and as an audience we get to be a part of it by experiencing so much of her life with her (the food, the music, the history, the day to day). It will hard for her to fail, not because she is infallable, but because she has personal stakes in all that she is fighting for. Can't wait until the Marvels face off with Kang. Kamala is sure to be important in the development of the MCU.

I'm not sure if this is obvious or not but when Kamala was having the nightmare you could hear someone (i think Aisha) say "find the train" to further support this when Kamala met the red danger master guy he said " what you seek, is seeking you" so I think Aishia is trying to reach out to her like she's stuck cos Ashia helped her daughter get back on the train to save her, but cos of that somehow she got her stuck in the other dimension or something like that. So when she went back in time Aisha might be there or something. It's just my theory.

Nice reactions. Have you noticed with all the talk of the partition and how bad it was that it is another partition that is keeping everyone safe? This was a big deal a few years ago in Marvel comics as the partitions between dimensions collapsed. As the dimensions collided one universe would be destroyed. This way Marvel got rid of many of their multiverses. An attempt to simplify things. Their little demo of that happening to one city is just the start of what would happen to the whole universe. Things go boom as they say. I know it's a comic story but how did she convince her mom to take her to Karachi? That was rather quick. But it could go to show the mom really does know more than she is saying. If they would have included that at least to the audience. Now it's just a big unexplained jump. Weddings in comic book just about always go bad. Funny part is every reactor went "Not the Cake". lol I felt the same way those things are expensive. Which brings us to another thing. How much money does her grandma have? That is a big house. Kids usually remember things being bigger than they actual are. But in this case the house is bigger. As the mom talks about the house being messier than the last time she was there. I won't mention any toffy jokes. That's too easy. But adults get the joke. lol I also felt bad how fast the new guy died. But he did get to take out one of the bad guys first. One last thing this is matter of business. As far as shows go. Ratings is everything. Even high marks amongst a few. Won't outshine lower marks but higher viewership. Higher viewership means more folks watched it. As long as that remains the same. The show with the lower views will end before the one with more views. That's just the way TV works. But I think if more folks watched your reactions to this show. They may get more views. Hey, it may someday be a cult classic as they say. Which means over the years it keeps getting more views while other shows drop off. In the long run that could mean a second season or more. Hmm kind of like a movie. Oops I forgot that's already happening. Good times ahead.

Probably in Latin America we see and like Ms Marvel a lot , she can pass as latina and you too. There are people here of every color you can think . In Costa Rica 10% of our people is from other countries of the world , we have muslims but there are not too many .

About the three directors (actually four) two of them are a working duo while the others are by themselves. Very odd that this is the third marvel show in a row to have that pattern Hawkeye had both a sole director (Rhys Thomas) and a duo team (Bert and Bertie) Moon knight had a sole director (Mohammed Diab) and duo team (Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead who will also work on Loki season 2) And Ms. Marvel has a duo team (Adil and Bilall) and two sole directors (Menon and Obaid-Chinoy) Odd pattern

I really like the show but it feels like they are *really* rushing through the story, which is a shame. Take Kamala's love life, for example: Episode 1: There's a love interest. Episode 2: There's a new love interest. He's kind of suspicious, though. Episode 3: Nah, just kidding, he's a good guy. Episode 4: Third love interest! Or the Djinn: Episode 2: Suspicious introduction. Episode 3: Nah, just kidding. They're cool. Oh no, immediate twist: they're crazy mass murderers! But they are caught. Episode 4: Just kidding! They escape the police in seconds and immediately find Kamala in Karachi. I wish they had more room to let the story breathe instead of just throwing everything at us all the time. I find that a bit exhausting, despite liking the story itself. Luckily the show is super wholesome, which makes up for a lot of its other flaws.
