From "Champ" felt that he had to pick the team he did, shows he bet it all on Phoenix! I never was a "Chrisg" fan but...... I love whenever he *washed* "Champ" 😂
Yeah really, his team is just perfectly designed to be tough no matter what. Not to mention just the raw skill of ChrisG, he's talented and smart as fuck.
They are some of the world's BEST fighting game players. I don't care who you and what you do but being the BEST at something is quite the accomplishment. And do not dismiss the fact of competition. Being the best at something is one thing, but being able to prove it to the world through competition is another. Just because someone hits a ball with a stick really well doesn't make it more valuable than those who can kick virtual ass. One on one is a thing of beauty.
I know. You're right. Hence why I said you know he's doing GOOD. FC kept his team because he thought Dorm could keep Morrigan at bay until he got 5 meters. What he should've done is swap out his Morrigan for someone else. Hell, Doom would've been a better pick, but after the 1st set, I would've swap out at least her.
Despite all the hate on FChamp. If he got better with this team, I think it'd be pretty damn sick. A phoenix team that doesn't need to worry about meter? Coupled with his Dorm, arguably the best in the business? If he works on his morri, it'll be awesome to watch.
Cause, for once, it was not a pure lockdown strategy. Instead of Soul-Fist/Missiles to keep away, he used it to get in; which is infinitely more fun to watch. Just look at 9:45 - He's not even dashing in, he's casually walking up to Phoenix to grab her. That's HYPE. I don't get why FC kept his team. Reliance on Dark Phoenix negated a LOT of his options. Like at 1:43 - no X-factor cancel into another hyper. Doom lived to rack up damage and missile assist for Vergil.
First time i see dark phoenix run from morrigan and vergil! Lol! Chris G, genius... He´s coming to Guadalajara for Colisseum V2 Tournament... i hope go and make some moneymatch´s with him...
Damn. So much hate for FChamp... I was never a fan of his, but I give him more props than ChrisG in this tournament. We've already seen ChrisG dominate with his Morridoom/Vergil team so he didn't do anything new. He's still the best in Marvel. But watching Champ come up with a new comp that was actually effective against Chris was really impressive. I hope he doesn't get too discouraged and drop this altogether because he actually has a shot now lol.
He 3-1 ChrisG earlier in the tournament, that's why Chris is in Losers'. Champ seemed to have only one counter-plan to Chris. Once ChrisG adapted to his strategy in this rematch, Champ was left with nothing and just fell apart.
oh and i forgot to mention, meter drain fireballs, round trip bug, air fireballs being canceled to dashes into more fireballs, standing low with morrigan, shell kick hitbox/priority, vergil x factor infinite, doom can kill off one throw and has an easy execution combo in the corner, vergil can launch assists non stop until they die. im pretty sure i missed a few things LOL
Chris has came a long way. he is much more than the soul fist spam gee was know for last year. he is much more well rounded and it showed in that match
Why the hell doesn't Champ play his Mag/Dorm/Doom team? He's already great at running away from Doom missiles. Dark Phoenix is just dope against Morri/Doom. Morrigan can just outlame her.
The very interesting thing about this match is that even though it seems Phoenix is the answer to ChrisG's team (at least got Fchamp's play style), his Morrigan is also the answer to Phoenix keeping her 5 meters. Good match from both these guys
that fchamp tech is strong. he needs to commit to killing morrigan as soon as he gets the touch. he always has the meter to do it, and dorm with all that meter is more than capable of dealing with any team even if phoenix gets snapped. he needs to get beter with morrigan too instead of throwing her away.
I agree to a certain extent, but his morrigan is the weakest link. Chris was destroying his dorm and knew how to deal with phoenix, but Champ has no way to make a comeback with a char he's not good enough with.
Yeah, that's the thing with these top players. They get these characters DOWN. FChamp's Dorm is insane. While I may not like FChamp or some of the other players within the FGC because of how they act, no one can deny they know the ins and outs of the games they play.
Kind of felt like the match "FChamp vs Infrit FT10", only this time FChamp was on the receiving end. No disrespect, he is top tier class, & I understand the method using Dormamu/Morrigan/Phoenix. But seriously, It didn't look like FChamp had any real experience using Morrigan, making her a liability. Too much of a risk to soly depend on getting 5 bars and using Dark Phoenix to win the match. Might have worked on anyone else, but definitly not on Chris G. Good attempt though...
I feel like Champ is the one who stands the best chance against Chris G. Didn't he 6/0 him or something at Canada Cup in the grand finals? Champs biggest mistake was picking Phoenix in this set. If he used his Mag/Dorm/Doom team, he would've done way better, and probably woulda won.
no one has an answer to the chris g morrigan ( insane chip/fill up the screen with shit/meter assist) doom (missiles the best assist in the game, TAC infinite, ambiguous foot dive) vergil (arguably the best anchor in the game, swords which leads to insane fuzzy/block strings, teleport, long ass combos, health regen devil trigger). not only that but all 3 chars have a level 3 super, can make comebacks with x factor, and can assist each other in any order.
Champ should have played much more aggressively instead of hanging back and hoping for the Phoenix comeback. I don't know what he was expecting with Dark Phoenix going up against ChrisG's entire team with no meter.
Absolutely despise ChrisG's play style but, this match was amazing. FChamp needed this, not because he's a douche but, because he's going to perfect the anti ChrisG. Prevail champ.
say what you want about him or his playstyle but there is no doubt that chrisg is a monster of a marvel player. plus, he aint bitch made like champ is.
