I'm going to start calling you Tom Sawyer. I've never seen a bee wrangler who could talk someone into doing their work for them like you. You are so good, you even got the guy who was paying you to do the work wrangle bees for you, you are a master. You got to love gentle bees. God's peace brother.
I’m thinking it’s a good way to teach one’s passion for not only the honey side, but the bee collecting side! It never hurts to teach different generations how to take and care for the different generations of bees!😊
Eric speaks highly of you and has a lot of respect for your bee skills as well as your character. You can borrow Eric, but you have to return him back to Arkansas. We need him here with us. Eric has been a great help with my beekeeping operation and even inspired me to stop wearing gloves. I am much more efficient without the gloves.
LOL. I got a good laugh out of the cigarette story. "This is Mississippi, people smoke when they're gas'n up." Yep, I literally have watched a coworker change a fuel filter while smoking (gasoline too, not diesel). But the time he threw the butt in the trashcan, it caught on fire... Also had to laugh on the bud light !!
Cigs dont get both Hot enough to ignite gas fumes nor do they Spark. You can pour gas on the ground and toss a lit cig into it, it will just go out. Science.
This is proof that Randy still does work hahaha Some times bees from your cuts out jobs fly to St Josephs Abbey and tell Mr Ed your doing a cut out rescue job. Thats how he knows. Shhhhh don't tell him I told you his secret lol
The home owner must have a sprinkler system or waters like crazy for the grass to be that green. Its dryer than a popcorn fart down here on the Gulf Coast.
@@628DirtRooster you having to feed your bees? I don't ever use corn syrup but have been having to supplement honey I've saved back with sugar. I do 70% water and 30% honey/ sugar. I also add oils I got from winding creek apiary that's supposed to help with hive beetles. I also use Swiffer pads and beetle traps. Been experimenting with the red see through beetle blaster covers as well...seems to be working out.
The quiet bees make up for the tight quarters. Great cutout. I will be doing a cutout in a water meter box in ground tomorrow or Tuesday they have stung several people, and its in the dearth and been 100 + so should be fun.
This is type video from you I love, I had to pause 7 and a half minutes in to comment! Mr. Ed might have a tracker on your truck like you have said in earlier videos lol. Back to the video.
It's like an old love affair between Randy and Jeff. The wife always knows that most inopportune time to call. 😂 Ever notice that Randy posts mostly cutouts with little to no follow-up. Where Jeff is more rounded with the whole bees and honey husbandry process. And then there's Mike with his "how I do" videos. 😂
Varoa has just been found in the South of Australia about a week ago. Government is implementing initiatives but we will see. We've managed any fire ants found so fingers crossed we can be as successful with varoa.
I drove down there last weekend trying to find you and Mr. age I knew when the Emmy was here but when I got there I forgot to bring my map I was wanting to talk to you about cadence about purchasing some honey bees
That was a lot of Bees for how tiny the hive looked crammed into that space. I find it totally fascinating how different honey tastes depending on what is in flower. I was watching Mr Ed's live last week when he was talking about this too. I hope your finger is doing ok. My eldest has just recovered from having hit his ring finger, and didn't realise until it started bleeding through his glove just how much damage he'd done. He went to the hospital to find he'd shattered the bone into three pieces. You take care 💚
yep different nectar sources makes different flavours of honey. There really isn't a 100% certainty when it comes to exact flavours given that bees forage on different flowers and what the honey will be flavour wise unless you are certain that flower was the only thing the bees where foraging on at the time of harvest. Also flovours can vary country to country i.e. USA has goldenrod, Mastic and privet but here in Australia I can get tea tree which makes a thick dark honey, thats a pain to harvest (yes its the same plant family as Manuka honey), Iron bark, red gum etc. And then you get Europe, Oceania and asain with their own flavours of honey
The Spartanburg Beekeepers T Shirt has calming effects on the bees. Now you know why that hive was very gentle. May need to wear it more often. Great video as usual and talk to you soon. 😊
Gentle bees, thanks to your videos, Ive been learning. I just got home from dropping off a double deep 8 frame to a friend. She had us get it from a trailer on the ridge. Very nice guy. About 60 pounds of honey. In the frames. We left a nuc with 5 frames of comb for the stragglers to go to. Planning on a few days to bring it back and add them with the rest. In another deep. They came out qnd covered frount of box it was at dark, and about 85 degrees. I'm thinhing they were hot from being closed up in box for 1/2 hour ride. Hope they stay and make it. Going to check on them in a few days.
I'm sure it's nice to get a real calm hive now and then instead of all the stings. And my mouth was watering watching yall sample that "good" honey. Thanks for sharing the experience.
@@628DirtRooster there may be a competition going on between the O's and the C's to see who can drop the most flies.....the C's definitely have the lead
I caught a swarm and looking around I found where they come from I told the lady I would come I would come back in 3 weeks and get them new queen time to get bread . I went back and got them. The swarm was the comas as I ever seen the mother hive it was like regular bees
Great video I loved it! I did miss getting to see your scenic shots though. Your great at photography in a way that speaks to me, I love seeing the area shots. I'll take anything I can get though, don't want to come across like a whinner! Your videos are what got me thinking about bees again. Thanks for the episode Randy!
Had a 800kg beam in shop take middle finger out boiler making for 20 years pop nail with tip cleaner's saved finger and a trip to doctors saved few thousand that day 😂.yacan get lucky.
U might as well get some tatoos of sting bites since u get them so often lmao. JK take care I always love ur videos and ur knowledge it's amazing! I wouldn't mind seeing ur videos longer and more of the extractions of bees and after u get them home and put them in there hive and updated how they r doing the next day or so. I'm always curious
Any chance you'll have some white shirts available for sale any time? The darker colors are too hot to wear, so I prefer lighter/white shirts. I like the shirt Eric was wearing at the end with the blue logo; if you had those in white I'd snap one up in a heartbeat...the hat, too.
@628DirtRoosterBees Hey Randy McCaffrey this is Antonio your beekeeping buddy when are you going to have another video I was wondering if you could upload your new video I watched your video and I enjoyed your video
Randy! Did my first cutout! Large colony, 2nd floor exterior for 1/4 then solid cross bracing, so also inside floor -- Slat oak so came up in strips. ACK mess! Couldn't find the queen in the mess. Had my shorts, flips and rooster tee-shit and hat. Penguin suits are for pussies! Show you pics at the convention. Love the new shirt and hat...umm we going to see terracotta again ;)
You need a 4" side grinder. If you hit a fingernail and it's throbbing use a syringe needle. Just twist it on the fingernail till it goes through and it will ease the pain.
James Hardie were the asbestos miners and manufacturers be careful to wear masks and don't give you lovely lady the clothing to wash, we need her healthy, don't we?
I enjoy your videos but I think they would benefit from the addition of some sort of outtro or wind-down. The end of each video feels abrupt and I always wonder if my RU-vid app stopped working or what happened.
I’m laughing as I read this. I’ve said many times that I’m terrible at ending my videos. No one ever really says anything though. Thank you for watching long enough to notice.
