@@LukeFaulkner Anyway, thanks for sharing Luke. 🙏 I really like this piece, which must be complex to play... The size and the beauty of this venue suits you so well, I hope you get to perform in front of a full house one day... I'm not worried about that 🥰☺ It must also be quite moving for your mum 😍🤗to see you playing on that stage you've admired all these years, thanks to her who introduced you to it...
I've only ever heard this as a vocal and just listened to remastered version of Maria Callas' recording. You've captured the heart of the Aria. It is every bit as beautiful and sad and heart breaking. And the venue is perfect. 👋😊 Ros
Simply magical! This is my all-time favorite aria. Madama Butterfly was the first opera I saw with my wife, back when we were first dating, a lifetime ago. Your arrangement captured its beauty magnificently! Bravo! 🎉❤
The story this piece tells is so vivid! The piano really sings out each line as the main character. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece! 😊 It was a beautiful start to my day. Have a great weekend, Luke!
Thank you so much, dear Miriam! I played along with opera recordings many times before making this arrangement - it was a lot of fun singing it through the piano. Hope you're having a great summer!
I had to find then subscribe to your channel after hearing a Chopin "short" on Halidon. Thank you!!! I grew up on the operas (my dad had his dad's vinyl from Sicily and I'll never forget those earliest days in my life!) but I'm here for your amazing talent!
This has always been one of my favourite pieces from one of my favorite operas as well! I'm glad you played this. Beautiful arrangement, and an even more beautiful location!
My dear Luke, I love this performance of yours. I so much wish you could perform a Romantic Piano version of PUCCINI's LA BOHEME ... I heard it in piano/love version played by an unknown pianist called Richard Zillersmann, just for your reference. Dear Luke, let me know what You think of this request of mine, and I love you for that.
Oooh - I've actually been working on La Boheme recently! I've set up a pseudonym just for releasing opera arrangements called Luca Falconeri (on Spotify). It will be shared there ;)
@@LukeFaulkner Hi, Luke, thanks for our reply, I am going to listen to follow the story. Please keep in touch when you have the time, musician's life not easy at all!!
Beautiful. Wonderful dynamics and color. I bet you could do a gorgeous rendition of Butterfly's Entrance music - one of the most magical parts of the opera.
This is as close to perfection as I can imagine a music video. The delicacy and voicing in your playing is just wonderful and your rubato is so emotive truly mimicking the vocal drama. The setting is majestic, imposing and befitting the grandeur and majesty and power of the opera. The cinematic and the actual musical arrangement is masterful too. Thank you for bringing these moments of truth, purity and beauty into our experiences!
Thanks so much, matey! I had a lot of fun making this... shame the algo doesn't seem to be giving me much love these days. Anyhow, I'll keep plugging along.
Been away at a conference and I come back to this wonderful piece! I love Madama Butterfly and I'm so glad you played this piece, it's a fantastic version you've written and I love the commentary you've added in the video and description :D
@@LukeFaulkner hello my dear Luke. Thank you for your reply to me. I am very happy to hear about your incredible work on Puccini's Madame Butterfly. YOU are a winner. But take care of your Health because such work involves all sensitive human senses: brain/mental, heart/sentiments, and the consistant interrelation with sound and hands/fingers. You know the treasured value of your fingers' how they play with your mental performance almost unconsciously when they meet As One! I am in love with this extraordinary sublime Theme, which as been adapted and tried in Poetry Narratives all sorts of writings and finally in Music and Theater. Thank you ever so much' please look after your supple hands. Much love, Teresa.
Thank you so much, Lorna - I listened to many performances of the original over the years and whilst writing this arrangement. Though I'm confident you sing it much better than I ever could!
Dear Luke, I am listening a second time the follow up of the story interpreted by You, so so enchanting, indeed! Thank you so much, I believe greatly in your successful career for times to come...
