Have you guys noticed that when Ale talks about Ronaldo he gets so worked up lmaoo. The other day Ale admitted that he would have done anything to play a World Cup. Ronaldo is about to captain his nation to his 5th World Cup. Ronaldo was right, they’re jealous.
As a Messi fan this is not exceptable just imagine if anybody would do that with Messi how bad we would felt.. so I can imagine.. feel sry for Ronaldo as Messi fan also genuinely
I am a Messi's fan and if Messi does it (he wont), I will stop being his fan. It is called professionalism. Your coach want you for a minute, you go and play. No individual is bigger than a club.
They talk about Ronaldo wanting to take the headlines, but they forget they’re the pundits and the journalist. They LITERALLY decide what the headlines are…they could ignore Ronaldo if they wanted, but anything he does feeds them 🤡
😂 These guys must've watched the interview with their eyes closed and their ears blocked. Ten Hag literally said it is disrespectful to put Ronaldo on at the end of a game, then he goes and does exactly what he himself labelled as "disrespectful". And now you're saying Ronaldo shouldn't feel disrespected?
ETH said its disrespectful to bring on CR7 when the score was 6-2 and not because it was 89th minute. Why is a disrespectful to bring on a footballer to do what he's paid to do? What are these faux standards you're setting?
@@dhirajbhat4021 the thing is mate, he isn’t just a footballer, with the career he had, he’s in top 2. Eth said with the career he had, it’s disrespectful to bring him on against city, so it is disrespectful to bring him on for 2 mins too
When man utd lost 6-2, ETH felt that he didnt need to play CR7 because they are gonna lose either way. He respected him. But when Tottenham’s game, Utd won, CR7 didnt want to play because his team has won as well but he should remember that all decisions are in manager’s hand and he is paid to do what manager asks him to do. He should have just played and even if he was unsatisfied, he could talk to the manager after the game to explain what he felt. That’s how you to behave “professionally” that is why he said he regretted but also he said he was not feel guilty, really2 weird guy
ESPN are always negative about CR7, if Portugal doesn’t do well in World Cup they will blame on Ronaldo and if Portugal win something they will talk about not having any input in it. Somehow they find a way to criticize Ronaldo.
In all this, what comes to mind, from a long time ago. Something to the effect, Marcelo tells Rafa Benitez, he scores 50 goals a season for us, don’t worry about him defending, let us worry about defending. Heartbreaking, as a Madridista, I gotta say.
Guys do yourself the favor and watch the full interview, that’s what a good pundit does. Make your own opinion after watching the interview because as you can see they will take small little quotes and try to force this agenda against him. We saw Dan Thomas the other day trying to stir the pot also. Imagine as journalist these people started making assumptions and not waiting until a whole interview was out? You’d think a professional company like ESPN would have more class but they seriously don’t
I watched the interview and they are painting it with the most amount of animosity, when it was a really calm and collective interview of him just saying his side of the stories.
@@Cluelessracing exactly, especially when Gab was trying to show both sides of the story the other day understanding Ronaldo’s frustration, a nobody like Dan Thomas tried attacking him right away like what in the world?
ESPN FC is the junkyard in the ESPN company. ESPN NBA and NFL have better pundits and studio than what ESPN FC has , plus their pundits gets paid more. This show isn't even taken seriously
Click Bait! On Mon and Tue leading up to the interview I thought that there would be a huge revelation. But it was just a Cristiano, stating his point. Piers tried to get him to say more negative things but, Cristiano wasn't falling for that. All of the pundits that said the worst negative things about him can't walk back and say anything positive, regardless; they are going to dissect every little word and action he does and spin it any way they want. THE MEDIA!
Is he the first player that this has happened to? No. Understandable that he wants to play but that’s not how a professional football player who’s getting paid millions a year should behave. He can’t accept that he’s in the wrong. I’m not saying ten hag is correct but if he doesn’t want cr7 he’s not obligated todo what Ronaldo wants. At the end of the day ten hag is ronaldos boss. Not the other way around
@@josesaenz5403 totally agree with u but remember this is not normal player this is one of the two best players in the history of football and him alongside messi is a one time thing no player in the past , present or future will get near those two so u can't treat those two like normal players wether u like it or not
@@abdelrahmanlfc8280 completely agree, messi got angry at pochettino when he got subbed at half time, messi and ronaldo are in a league of their own,,doing things to them like what ten hag is doing to ronaldo right now is unacceptable.
This is becoming more disgusting. It feels like this people have nothing to talk about but Cristiano. Although he might certainly done things badly, but we seem to forget that he's human and we all have our downfalls. Shaka and Ale said "it's Pity" how Ronaldo is handling this situation by doing this interview, but it is also pity how the media especially this ESPN board are taking advantage of the situation tarrying down Cristiano knowing that non of these guys even had a portion of the carrier that Cristiano had.
He's under a contract. He's being paid and so he's supposed to obey the manager no matter what. Like they've rightly said, he is supposed to complain to the manager personally and not to run to piers Morgan like some kid
Was he disrespected by the manager or not? They just couldn't answer a simple question. They know he was disrespected but they would rather twist and find a way to criticise Ronaldo.
He's still 37 years old he can play for 3 minutes and suck it up like a grown man and take care of business later. I'll cut him some slack because he went through hard times in his personal life but you can still play 3 minutes and take it like a man
But he didn’t he done it when he wanted to leave in the summer which the club promised him he could leave that summer then went back on their word so messi put up a transfer request which he’s never done before massive difference
Agree. If you not going to play CR7, bringing him on with 3 min left is an insult. I played baseball, and was brought in on a provincial game in the 9th inning with the last batter in the box. I felt slighted and insulted, because bringing me on was not going to change the outcome of the day. It was a coach who wanted to prove to me who the boss was. I should have decked him and left the tournament
Thats a sad way of seeing sports. A first team player needs rest sometimes, and if you arent able to give your teammate some rest, by coming on and playing a few minutes, then that is utter unprofessionalism, not everyone can be first team players, even the best players, being 37 years old
"all the discussion is about him, ... making the headlines about him..." YOU GUYS MAKE THE HEADLINES, YOU'RE HAVING THE DISCUSSION. He's a human being, felt disrespected , embarassed in front of millions, left the ground, regreted doing it, apologised, you're the ones still making headlines about it
You skipped out the part in the quotes where he says that Ten Hag said to the press it's a respect for his career & then does the opposite in similar situation. The respect is simple, you don't lie to a person you respect. Ten Hag has also lied multiple times about Casemiro. ESPN really out here acting like a tabloid. Even Greg & Shaka, who hated tabloids act like they're part of tabloids... they rarely get the full quotes or story & just react outraged on 1% of context.
Context matters... Coming on after the team is losing 6 goals Is a waste of his time, whats he supposedtodo. It's different when the team is winning you have a midweek game and the manager wants to save some legs; it's supposed to be a team sport
@@ivan_7076 he wanted to speak his truth and let the people know exactly what happened, remember for months everyone has been attacking him so what now he doesn’t get the chance to say something? Remember there’s always two sides to a story and he now spoke his truth
This ESPN clip demonstrates the importance of understanding context of all quotes and that things can seem so damming in text vs when you hear the person say it, tone, body language and providing full context and background. Also, we hear these ex-player pundits say that they know better on issues cos they played the game. However, they also won't know what it's like to be a Messi or Ronaldo.
The day people get a bite at you, they forget that he is human. A man has goals and priorities as well as a club. Let's not forget the Eric Cantona and Alex Ferguson situation. Clubs aren't showing respect to players anymore.
I don’t buy that “treat all players the same” players earn status. Why make a player strip and warm up for just 3mins. I wouldn’t do that to pele maradona messi etc. the game was won already
penaldo earned status as one of the worst players of all time . Lithuania man stat padding against luxembourg and hungary and andorra. 0 goals 0 assists against top teams like manchester city or liverpool in 5 years.
If you have Lebron James on your team you’re not gonna play him only in the last quarter for garbage time. He’s gonna either start or sit out. I know it’s a whole different sport. But this guy is a legend who is consistent in producing goals. You can’t be serious playing martial or rashford instead of him if you really wish to get top 4 and push the club to new levels
@@martypatrick1547 ' it's a team game ' u don't know how to explain detail bruhh.. in football nothing happen in 3 min nowadays if u come from subs.. either u come in 3 min to dirty your shoes, just jogging around on field.. that's all.. the only things that came around in last 3min is when the one who doesn't come off from bench..
He was spot on you cant waffle on about respecting he's career and what he has done as a player one week and saying your not bringing him on out of respect and then 2 weeks later wanting to bring him on in garbage time when you know he is already pissed about being on the bench, it makes no sense and dumb management. he had 3 subs left with 3 mins to go their was need to bring him on at all.
Well that the city game we were losing by 3-4goals And the spurs game we were up 2goals I think is a different feeling to be part of a team victory like that than To play for nothing cause that game city game was Was already lost at halftime
if you don't want him to be included in a 6-3 loss then also don't need to do the charity to include him in a 2-0 win by sending him for 3 minutes. simple as that. in any case, ESPN has raised their lunch money for today.
He has a contract that pays him half a million per week to play when asked, for as long or as little as is required. He dishonored his contract. Full stop.
This is what the media is, if you take anything out of that interview out of context, everything is explosive. Media is just exploiting it. CR7 said it doesn't make any sense with Ten Hag said before, he didn't want to bring him in the city game when they were losing badly because out of respect for his career then he wants to play him for 3 minutes after two weeks. He apologized for his action, he said it was not a good thing to leave the stadium. He even said that he'll play for 5 minutes if his team is in need of it, if a player is injured or they need his abilities in the pitch. A player is under a coach only, if he says to play you have to play but his actions were a result of the bad relationship between those two guys. And Ronaldo made every headlines about him. Dude, it doesn't matter if he says something or shuts himself up. You guys are living off making stories about him. I sometimes wonder how CR7 or Messi handles this huge pressure from fans, media. It's overwhelming and exhausting
I am really disappointed with the way ESPN are handling the Ronaldo interview situation. Ronaldo was only trying to tell the truth of his side of the story. All ESPN have done since was just say how bad he has been playing recently and he should just move on and retire. Completely forgetting that Ronaldo was Man United’s top scorer last season, which was only 6 months ago. ESPN is completely ignoring Ronaldo remarks about how he is worried that the club is being miss managed and how there has been no progress in Man United in recent years. You can clearly see that he loves the club and the fans and that’s why he is speaking out, not because he egotistical and he wants everything to be about him.
After all he’s a human being with feelings and all i see FC biased ESPC no matter what CR7 do whether he’s right or wrong they will always find a loophole to criticise him, a player of his calibre you can’t disrespect him like that and It's not about there only being 3 minutes left, it's about the game being done with United winning 2 Nil at that point, It's called "rubbish time" and you usually put in youngsters and average players to give them an opportunity when there are no stakes.
@@relaxinghealingrain9075 2 sides to thw story dont let the media brainwash you they are experts at that they are therw to create caos. You lose your kid at birth and get disresoected by the coach and see hiw you feel. You dont threat a legend like that.
Did you actually hear the interview where he explains that this was a build up since the pre-season. He missed pre-season like other players did as well but he was the only one penalized for it. He was used as an example as they believed he had rebelled and was'nt willing to go to preseason.

Without looking at the video, I can say that the espn crew must be criticizing Ronaldo , can’t you look at the entire context how they were already trying to get him out of the team. You don’t put him on the field out of respect while losing against city, now you put him on the field for 3 minutes when we are already winning .
@@tkdanny you clearly didn’t watch the interview, don’t take news from ESPN, they got Camavinga not going to the World Cup wrong and Ronaldo in the interview talks about ten han saying he didn’t play him out of respect which he thought he actually wasn’t doing it out of respect, keep in mind his first language isn’t English and you could tell throughout the interview
@@ivangutierrez6531 going on for 3 minutes when you’re loosing 6-3 is pointless …it was 2-0 with spurs and they were trying to keep pressure on Spurs. ETH has treated everyone the same. But we seriously going to act like he’s at fault for everything because he walked off the pitch? This man has been dealing with so much since his kid passed away and when his kid was sick. They messed with him so much and ETH was telling him different things behind closed doors and in the press. Even at the end of that game, they could’ve put in some youngsters instead of him, there was no game plan, he even states how ETH was trying to make a fool of him because of everything surrounding him at the time
So let me get this straight....... Cristiano Ronaldo is throwing away 20+ years of impeccable service to all the clubs he has played for because he has spoken up about the lies told about him, the difficulty he faced in dealing with the death of his son, hospitalization of his daughter and last but not least the provocation and disrespect he has faced at Man united? 😂😂😂. Oh how hard it is to remember the good but easy to hold on to a millisecond of bad. 👏
No...he is being lambasted for his disrespectful and childish behaviour. He is being taught that no one is bigger than the club. It's a shame so many are such slow learners.
@@yt.personal.identification So having a problem with playing 3 minutes is considered being bigger than the club now? What about 30 seconds? Does that look like a manager would do to any player? lol
Im a messi fan. BUT, as much of a drama queen that Ronaldo has been, I get it. Psychologically, I feel like before he was bothered by everything, but after the death of his child he has been different. I think people in the locker room need to find common ground with this guy. He needs help and I think the lack of control he had with his child dying really took a toll. He is a serial winner and i think he wants to win in football after losing a very personal battle. People need to see this because he isnt well. I feel bad because he is one of the greats.
@@genchwanlim2970 i’ll give you that, but that’s not the point. Part of being human is having compassion and understanding. The fact that his child dying wasn’t even taken into consideration is crazy. Nothing justifies what is wrong, but we have all done wrong in our times of despair. The money he made can’t buy his son back. He needs psychological help and he needs to be wiser.
I think if Ronaldo could be a little like Ibra has been at Milan, that would be great for him. Look at what Ibra did for Milan. He completely revolutionized the club and has taken young guys under his wing. Imagine Cr7 doing that? Ibra is the cockiest guy but even he understood when his role needed to change as a footballer. Cr7 can do the same and maybe even revolutionize a different club.
honestly i see where Ronaldo is coming from. I mean what’s even the point of bringing him in with 4mins to go. I’ve even had this conversation with a friend way before Ronaldo did it. Maybe time killing in a big game? But that specific game didn’t require a time burner.
Making decisions are the managers responsibility, we talk about united lacking a manager for years, we finally have one yet we want to undermine his authority, if he feels Ronaldo should play 30 seconds that's his business, it's his responsibility, Ronaldo's responsibility is to perform when called upon and he hasn't done that, Ten hag and man United as a football club has been disrespected by ronaldo, if it was another player you'd be calling for their head, football is a team game, always will be
@@teribex the things is, that will cause problems for big and established players. Their ego won't love it. And in reality we saw exactly what happened when a big, and established player with huge ego got put into that situation. It was bad. Eth should learn how to handle high ego players, even Messi would be pissed if that happened to him
I can't help but feel weird about seeing these ex-players telling Ronaldo, arguably the best player of all time who's been performing as he did at the highest level for so many years consecutively, how he should behave and his attitude should be etc. It's like me trying to explain relativity to Einstein.
It's actually really funny how ESPN omitted the part where CR7 said he would be glad to come in during injury time, when the there is a injury to a player or in any other reasonable circumstances.
It's irrelevant. He's paid 500K to do as the manager says. No one is promised time, you don't perform, you play less. The manager isn't there to make Ronaldo happy.
He was disrespected and provoked and Ten Hag tried to embarrassed him. Cristiano Ronaldo put his family first and he says he has doctors notes from hospital. He is ready mentally for the World Cup now that he said all he had to say, feels relieved and focused. He clarified everything and now we see all of the lies like that no other teams didn’t want him. Manchester United only wanted to prevent him from going to another Premier League team like Manchester City. I believe that he was set up to fail by pushing him and provoking him by benching him, suspending him, fining him $, lying to him, not supporting him with personal problems, and putting him 3 minutes and I know is because they did not believe him that his wife and baby daughter were sick, and Radnick and Ten Hag thought he was looking for another team or just on vacation so they punished him by not playing him , benching him, treating tougher than others, to make an example of him, so Ten Hag gets famous for becoming the Rookie coach that sat Ronaldo 7. They made a mistake hiring all mediocre coaches that think they are the best coaches, and they don’t know how to treat a Legend. Also an experienced player like Cristiano noticed all of the internal issues and uncovered why this team has been an Europa League team for the last 15 years. He realized that the team was stuck in the past and had no innovation, no evolution, no technology, old gyms, old training center, old kitchens, and hired sport directors with a mediocre coach careers. Only 3 players are professional players like Dalot, Martinez, Casemiro, and a few other but players that got used to be in 6th and 5th place every season, and had no hunger. He told the coaches and sport directors the truth and they probably didn’t like it and the owners set a mission to make his life look like Cristiano was the black Sheep. England has old ex fútbol players that are haters of Cristiano because they are jelous of him just like fake Rooney a guy that took his son to play with Cristiano Jr amd still talked bad things about Cristiano. Cristiano Ronaldo always shows that he will come back amd will have a great World Cup.
Just accept the fact that Ronaldo ain’t the same player anymore, all these excuses, don’t give Ronaldo the right to act this way. Yes he is a legend and probably one of the best ever, but he is not showing that right now on the field, so it’s normal to take a step down and come of the bench, even if it’s only for 3 minutes, you do what the coach ask you to, because he is still a player and ETH is the coach, he makes the decisions, if Ronaldo likes it or not, United haven’t been great lately, but you can see they are building something since ETH came, and it’s obvious they don’t need Ronaldo, he don’t fit the system ten hag wants to play
The fans are with CR7, I love this program but I can't stand with you all on your stand.......CR7 is human and he holds his moral I respect him for that.
If some player declaring to leave makes it a more worthy news that a team winning UCL, why do these people keep saying team is more important than the player
Espn should consider changing the staff ... Not answering the questions they are asked ..just criticizing...u can give opinion of different sides not just criticism

Whether you like it or not, whether you agree with what Ronaldo did or not, whether he is a player at the club or not, whether he is earning 500k or not, and the list goes on. What matters here is brutal honesty, brave converstaion, and breaking all taboos to be able for MU to move forward. What Ronaldo did will serve the club on the long run and is what the clubs needs to kick start a new Era that can only begin if we face the truth that MU is not a top club anymore with the current structure, mindset, infrastructure, etc. and that we have to establish a new vision and set of goals aligned with what reality is and where we want to be for years to come
That will never happen tbh at least not till the glazers are there. There is a need to do a complete restructuring at that club and it definitely isn't happening until the glazers are there. No matter what manager they bring in a few good results and people tend to forget that something is terribly wrong with the way that club functions. And even the approach that ten hag has taken I don't think it's going to work in the long run I feel, he seems to put way too much faith into some players who are just aren't worth it. It's good till it's going but eventually they will turn on him and it will end the same way it did for all the previous managers
ESPN pundits know deep down they messed up because they spoke to soon and showed their dislike towards cristiano. 3 players missed the preseason and they are starters at man united. The coach benched Cr7 on the city game out of respect but wanted to sub Cr7 3 min left for a finished spurs game.
These pundits are rats who are payed money to talk bad about Ronaldo ever single day. Imagine rats teaching lion how to live in the kingdom of animals 😂
That sort of mentality from Ten Hag is destructive, unnecessary and petty. Rather discuss issues behind the scenes and come to a solution. That way you'll get the best out of the player without creating tension and compromising respect from both parties. Poor player management skills. These are grown men not high schoolers
They don't understand the situation because it's Ronaldo. If it was Messi who got the same treatment being asked to come on for 3 minutes in a game that's won, everyone would react different...
Don't bring messi into this. This is ABOUT CR7. I would say the same if Messi was in the same situation which would be don't bring Ronaldo into Messi issues.
These guys on ESPN are really something else. But Again I shouldn’t expect them to understand. They played football for a few years and then boom they became old and grey and played a game call hating Ronaldo.
The reason Ten hag didn't bring on Ronaldo against Man City towards the end was because of the scoreline and not how much time was remaining in the game. That was the respect Ten hag was talking about.

He’s Cristiano Ronaldo, he knows that a camera is always on him. He lives for the cameras, him walking out was him making a statement. Just as how Ten Hag was making a statement when he decided to bring him on. This is an ego struggle, has nothing to do with football. Cristiano was never and will never be a team player.
He could have just refused and sat on the bench and then he and the manager could have it out in the dressing room. But he chose to walk off in front of the entire stadium and all the cameras.

United was getting trashed by City. Putting him on when we were doing badly, when Ronaldo was not in form, would have focused immense negative attention on Ronaldo. Guys like Alejandro and the older white guy are just trying to make ends meet at ESPN, and C Ronaldo has made it possible. However, I find it a bit unappreciative; they show no respect for the hand that feeds them. CR7 forever. SIUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
I think the panel (Pundits)forgotten when youre human, your emotional side gets the best of you, and its really hard to think rational at that moment. So cr7 was emotional he wasnt happy, he walk off, its easy to say such things from these panels view because its should have been the best decision for cr7 to think rationally. But sometimes you cant. Its easy said than done.
You've never led anyone have you? Yeah cr7 has the right to be emotional and lose control but that also comes with consequences. No one is bigger than the manager or the club. He is ruining his legacy
Ronaldo’s emotions always gets the best of him, he’s a great footballer but he’s also a man child. Had he not made certain statements to undermine and provoke Ten Hag he wouldn’t have tried to slight him and sub him with 3 minutes to play. The manager was just trying to show him who’s boss
I've seen lots of coaches destroy a player's career just because they want to show them "who's the boss." I'm not a fan of Ronaldo and think he should bear some responsibility, but 10 Hag was on a power trip with Ronaldo.
What's wrong with showing 'who's the boss '? . Infact that's a necessary thing to any successful team. So what do you think a friendly neighborhood coach will command respect from the dressing room? Name any coach who wasn't authoritative that's been successful. Pep, Jürgen,Sir Alex,Mourinho all of these successful coaches has always commanded the dressing room and wouldn't allow a player to become bigger than the coach.
@@harishmohammed9851 For every Mourinho or SAF, there's Anceloti or Zidane, who does not go around bossing their players. It's all about the coaching style. It becomes an issue when their attitude get personal.
yea but playng ronaldo for 3 minutes for no good reason is disrespect, and thats how ronaldo took it after all the disrespect he got. not to say he is having the best attitude both ten hag the club officials and ronaldo are all at fault, but espn just keeps trashing on ronaldo.
In my national team, we changed a coach just because we were having a real tight game but our top player wasn’t on the field. We went all the way to penalties where we ended up loosing and our top player was never brought in! After that game, the manager was out!
The only difference is that this Man Utd team are winning games without Ronaldo. If Ronaldo was banging in the goals then it would be a different story but he's scored 3 goals in 16 appearances (10 starts). He's failing to come to terms with the fact that he's no longer a top player.
CR7 has changed the football game in general, and he deserves RESPECT. We know that Messi and Ronaldo are way pass their Prime but they should be given RESPECT.
