I would disagree. Finished higher in PL, Went further in Europa League. I feel we are better defensively as a team but still far from perfect. He has had to change the squad and hasn't had his best team available. I agree with some of what Claude says but not all.

Spot ON. A lot of players saw their best days with Wenger . From Fabregas to Nasri , Hleb Adebayor and Van Persie . Wenger could put players in positions that unlocked their greatest potential. Emery appears incapable so far.

@@eddyededwin There wasn't any competition in those days for CL qualification, if you were lucky to be on board the CL gravy train earlier you had a huge advantage as there wasn't as much investment in other PL clubs as there are now. We spent the 4th highest on wages and were 4th Wenger didn't much he freewheeled for the last 10 years whilst being paid a fortune.

Emery is still learning the trade here in the premo-ship. He underestimated the Yorkshire lads. He needs more time. He had one eye on the Europa league (which is where our much preferred back 4 will play and perhaps even a rare, lesser spotted German playmaker).
