Disco nights were fun in the day Dancing all night Friday and Saturday then supper after that till 4/5am Wonderful memories of great filled nights of fun and joy ,then back to work for the next 5days. In our day we could walk to the disco clubs and be safe Bee Gees from Australia 🇦🇺
Yes, I well remember going to discos in the late 70's, and when this song, or Night Fever would come on, there was a rush to the dance floor and we would all start dancing that hustle with the spins and claps.Us girls used to practice it at work in our lunchbreak! Absolutely love the Beegees,saw them in concert,they were fantastic.

Their drummer had to leave for his mother’s funeral, so they created a drum loop, which they planned to replace when the drummer returned, but it was so great that they left it in and gave drum credit to a fictitious Barnard Lupe (Barnard after a famous session drummer + loop). They said they received a lot of inquiries from groups looking for “him” to play on their albums. Fast forward years and the American Heart Association began using it for teaching CPR because the beat is that of a healthy heartbeat. A strange fact discovered a few years ago that the song's beat is the perfect rhythm for proper CPR perfusion (100 beats a minute). The medical field has been using it to train nurses, doctors, and EMTs since. Unbelievable how a song written in 1977 when CPR was in its infancy turned out to be actually used to keep someone “Alive”! Moreover, the American Heart Association did not implement the 100 beat a minute guideline until 2015.
Barry's voice is one of the most unique voices in the music business. That's the quality that sets him apart from the other vocalists during that era. The king of falsetto just doing his thing.

I’m a millennial, but my dad is a DIE HARD Bee Gees fan (his fav story to tell is about winning a disco dance contest to this very song in the 70’s 🪩 🕺), so I’ve heard this from the womb, and it still never fails to make me smile; love your content so much! ☺️♥️🎶

I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with !!! All three brothers had amazing falsetto's, powerful chest voices, & could sing anything in between. They truly were a once in a lifetime gift of musical genius, in every aspect! Please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed. They span over many decades, & crossed quite a few genres. I believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤❤
Don't forget to mention the numerous hit songs they wrote for other artists throughout the decades. Also, I agree, Andy was equally talented, hated that the world lost his talent too early.
those were the "disco Bee Gees". that music was not bad at all, but the entire "disco era" was not my taste. but a decade earlier, i could listen for hours to the "classic Bee Gees" (as group or solo, eg Massachusetts, Word, World, Don't forget to remember, Saved by the Bell, August October)
It's amazing to me that they had written these songs on this soundtrack before they were ever contacted about writing for the movie. And none of them ever learned to read or write music. Brilliant. Incredibly gifted.
My husband and I loved the BeeGees from the time they first recorded music. We listened for 47 years until he went home to Heaven with Jesus. I hope the twin brothers are there and singing their hearts out! Barry also did several duets with Barbra Streisand. They're on an album he did with her. My favorite was Promises. Keep listening. You'll grow to love them more!!🇨🇱👍

It’s an indelible cultural hallmark. None of that happens if that opening scene, is set to any song other than “Stayin’ Alive. I can’t imagine one single production tweak that could make “Stayin’ Alive” work better. Everything is exactly where it should be. “Stayin’ Alive” is one of those songs that sounds like it’s always existed. It’s crazy to think that human beings had to make it up out of nothing. It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history (Sherlock Holmes, Airplane, American Idol, The Voice) there are exist minimum thousands of cover versions only here on RU-vid.

It's been the 'Wind Of Change' which first braught them into dancable, funky rockin' R&B tunes. A song out of their masterful created album 'Maincourse'.
One of the greatest bands ever. They wrote and arranged all their own music in the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's. Not only Disco, but also plenty of soft rock tunes. Their harmonies are second to none and no voice doctoring except for some reverb, and echo. Brilliantly talented musicians. I saw them live on TV in Australia in 1964 when they were kids and before the world at large had ever heard of them. They also played their own instruments in the early days. Brilliant musicians and miles above the electronically assisted crap we hear on the radio today!

I grew up in the 60s and the Bee Gees were world famous when I was in my 20s, you couldn't go anywhere without hearing one of their songs belting out in a supermarket or a clothes store. When Disco was hot, I always went to Disco Bars to dance. The disco music had awesome beats that was super and easy to dance to. This song is a track to the John Travolta movie, Saturday Night Fever. I'm happy you are enjoying this music.

Fun fact; The official video for the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” was filmed on a set designed to look like an abandoned subway terminal. This set was located at MGM Studios in Hollywood, California. The video was shot on a backlot directly adjacent to where the movie “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” was being filmed at the same time
I think by the way you were moving, it wouldn't be hard for you to believe this song was voted the #1 dance song of the 70's. Out of the top 500 "best songs ever written" this came in at #99. What's even crazier is that for awhile after the movie soundtrack this was on came out, it was selling a million albums a week ;)
Honey, they have some stuff that was even earlier than this song. Check out Massachusetts featuring the voice of Robin Gibbs. There is Got To Get a Message To You. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart. Fanny. There are so many wonderful songs. As a teen my favorite group was the Monkees, and at the same time the Monkees released a single called Words, the BeeGees released a completely different song called Words. It took a while for me to warm up to the BeeGees music, but now both Songs are on my Old Person play list and I drive around town from Senior Center to Senior Center rocking to my music from 50 years ago. So wonderful when I see a young person finding some of the stuff I used to love dancing to. And dear, if you want to hear another performer that has a haunting voice check out Patsy Cline and her songs, Crazy, Walking After Midnight, and I fall To Pieces. Some country western from when I was a child. Everyone should listen at least once or twice to the Late, Great, Patsy Cline.
there is a really good documentary about The Bee Gees either on Netflix or HBO, I grew up in the 70s and 80s listening to them, am a music buff, and there was stuff in that documentary that I had no clue about, like they originally didn't sing in that high falsetto voice
