While on holiday in Belgium the farmer was harvesting the field next to our caravan site and kindly gave me permission to detect it.
I finally found my first hammered coin which features in this final video - and it is amazing!
This is the last (8th) in the series so please do watch them from the start to get a feel for this amazing field.
This is the finale covering day 3, my last on the field - in this I find my amazing 14h Century Hammered Coin plus more remnants from WW1 including a bullets, shells, artillery shell balls plus lots of other things.
The coin is a 2 Mites of Philip II which dates as 1556-1567 and is a Copper Hammered.
2 Mites is one of the few denominations that featured in the bible:
"Lesson of the Widows Mites"
Luke 21:1-4 :
And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury,
and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in TWO MITES.
So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all;
for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God,
but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.”
I will do a video dedicated just to showing everything that I found in more detail - and there is a LOT!!
