I am Mark Stringer from Shropshire in the UK. I love flying planes, drones and helicopters and exploring all things flying. My adventures include Magnet Fishing, Metal Detecting and Ghost Hunting. Getting technical and really discovering everything about my hobbies is where I excel and most of my Ghost Hunting kit, including the Ghost / Spirit Box I made myself! I am staring to work on tutorials of my ideas and have started some box openings and reviews too. I do explain that in the video but firstly very sharp turns put huge strain on the tyres with a twin axle (my old single axle could spin on a sixpence) and secondly the driveway is so narrow now that the caravan overhangs a drop to turn around so would have to go very close to the drop to turn on the movers.
Have you ever tried doing that on a twin axle caravan? I wouldn't have though it was possible or safe with how the suspension and everything works on a twin axle as well as overloading the remaining axle?
Thanks, yes it is a little stunner. I still can't believe it and when it slid out of the clod onto my spade I knew in a second what it was and saw Georges face in front of me. Thanks for watching.👍
I have had no issues with it but my helicopter hasn't had much use due to various circumstances so I cannot really vouch for it to be honest. It held very well at the time so I cannot see there being a problem. Thanks for watching
While some have been technically critical, it's always worth remembering that innovative ideas, together with trial and error, are the bedrock of many of the classic designs we've become accustomed to. The kind of thinking we need to return to to revitalise the economy here. Rare that a Mk 1.0 solution has everything right first time. And as an associated thought... it is a shame for the longevity of caravans as a living concept, especially now that new-build houses seem to have less space to park a caravan or even get near the house. Keep thinking and making!
Thank you so much for the lovely comment, really appreciated. I have always been curious and into designing and making things as you will see from some of my other videos. If only it had made my fortune 😕 Thanks again, Mark
Thanks for watching. The training gear is fine carbon fibre rod simply taped where it meets the landing gear and with some light packaging foam cut into drum shapes on the ends which can rotate between 2 small pieces of tubing.
Yes, the Manticore is a real beast. The Q30 varies according to the coin. In my early detecting videos I use the Quest and it does a great job - in those you will see the numbers for all the different coin that I have found. My local permission I used in the early videos has an amazing number and range of coins although I am now doing it all again as the Manticore is finding everything the quest and E-Trac missed!
Wow, 2 silvers in one day! That field was so muddy you could almost be a mudlarker. 😅 But seriously, though, you look like you had a really good time. Thanks for taking us along.
It was awful and I thought I would have to give up but the decision to go to the middle field was such a lucky one and to get a coins spill, 2 silvers plus possibly ancient hose decoration in a few hours was amazing.
Yes, thanks Jackie, my first coin spill, or at least my first old coin spill - very exciting and super being George III to give it a good age. Part 2 out at 6pm this evening - Silver time!
Yes, it was a lovely afternoon together. I returned alone the next weekend to do the main field so video will be out as soon as I can do it - got some super finds!
@@modellermark2 I always enjoy your videos. I put them on and do my sewing while watching them. Thank you for making such relaxing and interesting videos.
@@jackiejames4551 Louise love sewing too - the tracksuit trousers and my long sleeve top I was wearing in this video wereboth made by Louise - as was her small digging trowel holder on her belt - clever girl!
tbh great job but with a few practise reverses i`m sure that is possible unless its the camera lens.with the car. love your van we have the end bathroom version.
Honestly, there are only a couple of inches either side when drivng out forwards. I wouldn't want to risk my van with any practice reverses but I have put the offer out there that if anyone wants to bring their van down and have a go they are welcome as it will make a great video. Thanks for watching and the feedback
I've seen larger turn tables for cars set into a drive flush with the ground surface, I think it was one that allowed one person to easily push the car around, but just as easy to fit an electric motor to turn it at the push of a button.
Yes, I looked at those first but they cost 10 times what this cost me to put together and as it only gets used a handful of times per year I couldn't bring myself to spend that sort of money. Thanks for watching
Thanks - I have fixed my camera now so after the next couple of videos it will be better. On this dig I found the amazing 1837 One Cent so watch out for that!
Hi there from New Zealand. I have been having problems with my FrSky X12S Horus regarding telemetry sensors. I daisy chain them as you have done in this demo. Sadly, i can only read one at a time. If i add another onto the end of the one working it doesnt pick up the ones plugged after. Hopefully you can give some help
Hi, If they are smart sensors they should daisy chain, if not you need a hub. The only thing to really watch is that you get the wiring the right way around as being just 3 wires they can go the wrong way easily. If you have no luck then maybe post a video showing it all in detail. Best of luck
@@modellermark2 thanks for the reply, and happy New year's from New Zealand. Yes, my sensors are "S"port smart sensors. Not the more modern advance sensors. But that shouldn't matter. All paper work I have with each other say to just daisy chain together. Just doesn't seem to work. They all work well independently, just not when plugged in chain. It's really wierd
@@russcole5685 The other possibility is your receiver. I note that in the manual for the variometer it says "FrSky V8 series and D series receivers DO NOT support Smart Port" . Which models of all components are you using ?
Great video, I am unable to connect using my Windows 11 Laptop as it says communication error, How did you set COM4 on your PC? Looked in Device Manager with no luck.
You are welcome - see my other videos for the build, H1 setup and maiden flight. It is a lovely helicopter and with this setup anyone could fly it. If you haven't already take a moment to subscribe and have a browse of my other videos - Thanks!
I'm not sure what you mean? I am not trying to fool anyone - it is a GPS based controller so flies hands off line a drone - even inverted (which it will do at the flick of a button) it will fly like that.
Hello Sir, Mine JJRC X12 lights blinks yellow & red alternately. In app it shows Accel is not calibrated. Do you have any solution for that. I will be greatefull if you reply.
Hi. There are only 2 calibrations available in the App - this are covered nicely by another users video. Make sure there is nothing that can be interferring with it first .. out in the open away from WiFi and power lines etc and keep your phone and transmitter a disatance from it. Check it out here (this started at the calibration for you) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vq-I4BhJTqM.html
@@AD-ri9cf It is worth doing - see the ardupilot thread for the details and check all is OK inside. As you see with mine I protected the GPS and moved the compass outside to get better results.
@modellermark2 We switched from a single to twin axle last year and our drive is wide enough for 2 caravans. We could park the single axle on the far side of the drive creating "privacy" from the neighbour. Can't do that with the twin axle as I found when trying to spin it on its axis the first time we got home with it. Interesting to see the effort you went to with the "rotator"...well done. Notice none of the replies asking why don't you reverse it the length of a football pitch with barely inches to the sides have taken you up on your offer for them to come and show you how it's done....that would have been a great follow up video!
@@M..R.... Yes, I had drones and tripods at the ready for those videos but no takers as yet 😂. I have tried the 2 buttons togther too but it won't do it and I hate seeing how much pressure the tyres are under. I am happy with my device and I can do it single handed easily now without even using the dolly to turn it.
The same offer goes out to yourself as to the others that said that - if you want to come and bring your equivalent sized twin axle down and show me the technique of reversing down the 50m single track lane and into the tight driveway then I am happy to watch and learn - I will even video it and put it on my channel to help others. But currently as it has just inches to spare coming out forwards I am not prepared to risk damaging my van in reverse.
I have replaced the default battery that came with the drone with a 2200 mAh 3s Lipo battery. I have wired the battery cell connections with the built in battery circuit correctly. Once I fly the drone it automatically lands after few seconds of flight. And the app showes “N/A” in the place of battery percentage. Any idea how to fix it?
The stock batteries are LiHv so a higher voltage. When using Lipo it can think they are low very quickly. You need to do the USB connection and then use Mission Planner to calibrate your battery as well as setting the low voltage to a suitable Lipo one. Check out my comments, the video and the information on Thingyverse so that you have all of the details. Thanks for watching and good luck.
@@modellermark2 Thank you very much for such cooperative attitude. I am new in this field. Seeing your video I can connect my drone with pc. What are the next steps to follow? It would be really a great help for me. Thank you
@@user-ws2sn4hb6f Hi - take a look through the ardupilot discussion link in the description to help with details on fitting the USB cable. Once done you need to reprogram it with Mission Planner but that is a subject in itself so you may need to watch some videos / tutorials on Mission planner to get the idea of how to use that. Once you have Mission Planner and are plugged in you just need to read the data and then change just what is needed - my posts on the ardupilot thread cover all of that too as well as having a copy of all of my settings.
