New engines will shut down and go into limp mode if their fuel isn't completely perfect on the right octane, meanwhile this thing has been on the clock for 100 years burning crude oil that was in the ground half an hour ago, thumping away while casually on fire and not complaining a bit.
Yeah it loves the heavy fuel oil, which is basically sweet crude. You just need to heat it first. If you're interested, check out the fuel and fuel systems on merchant marine vessels.
New engines also make more than 1hp per liter. This thing is huge low specific power output stationary engine. It wouldn’t power anything particularly useful other than maybe an oil well pump. Even then it would still be somewhat useless since those usually often run off of well gas and not crude.
Why not bend the exhaust pipe around and create a "heat exchanger chimney" of hot exhaust gases around the fuel oil feed pipe to take over heating the black oil after the initial fire dies down??? Extend the exhaust up above the height of that wall so the exhaust also sucks air up the "chimney" and away from the operator...... There must be a near crippling amount of carbon in the cylinder and air intake from that smokey bit of burning material on the engine's air intake... again a part of the exhaust gases could run through a heat exchanger to provide heated air for the engine...without all that carbon... (like the heat exchanger tube running under the intake manifold on an old air-cooled VW... exhaust gases keep that hot to vapourise the fuel in the air/fuel mix from the central carb all the way out to the intake ports on the heads).

I can understand spewing direct exhaust into our precious atmosphere in a third world country but what I can’t comprehend is the jugs of long term oil soaked into that black sand he’s standing on - environmentally speaking that would be in his control if he gave a shit or understood environmental issues 🤷♂️🤪👍
@@Splodnik billions and billions of us on this one planet - the big picture says we shouldn’t do this - it’s where we keep our drinking water - below ground - for example industry alone nuked most of India’s water table - we are all one species my friend and we only got one small planet - in this one tiny life I have to live I do my part and don’t crap down mother natures throat lmao 🤷♂️🤪👍
Well just my opinion but if the climate people stop the spread of new power plants this guy just has to use the power source he has. Power produced from natural gas or just about any other source would be better.
We westerners living in privileged places shouldn't be so critical. Of course he isn't concerned about that oil soaked soil. He's only worry is making a living to feed the family.
@@tonycamplin8607 and over here in magic land we get free money - lord I only wish I didn’t have to work 16hrs a day - what’s a weekend ? Reality is reality globally 👍
Those guys filming are safety inspectors making sure proper safety measures are in place and the operator is wearing the proper safety clothing such as steel toed footwear, safety eyewear and no loose baggy clothing that can possibly get tangled up in the machinery. I’m sure a clean bill of health will be issued.😳🤔
I have heard that the whistle on the exhaust is to tell people around that the engine and connected machines are running for bringing in business. Processing grain or other plants used for food.
Hej hej, Sweden. ❤ Sweden from the first time I was there in 2001. I had friends for 20 years, lived in Ulvshittan. They must be 86 y. bust lost all contact because off Coronacircus. I'm not injected and that is why I lost contact. So sad, maybe something happend there?? They came everery year to Belgium, but it is all gone.😔 I hope I can drive with the motorcycle to Sweden again, but time has changed so much. It is so sad to see beautiful Sweden going down. Sorry for my interuption, but it just came up. Hej då.
Very low quality thick fuel oil one step above tar and requiring fire to thin it and fire to heat intake air before the engine can run.....and produce very low power for it's size.
The fire at the air intake needs to be going continuously to provide needed heat for "complete" combustion.... but the exhaust going through an air to air heat exchanger could do the same for both the air intake and the fuel oil heating....
Ha, right now, as I write, I'm sitting in my car watching RU-vid, waiting to be towed because my battery has died. Yes, honestly! Seems the old belts and pulleys aren't such a bad idea after all!
22 HP are equal to 16,18 KW... I guess that 2 kilowatts of load capacity could be converted to electricity by small generator (and I probably saw it spinning by the brick wall) and then passed to a tubular electric heating element to heat up the oil. As result - exclude distracting the operator for adding wood to the fire. Isn't it more sensible?
2-3 comments A new engine won’t last 15 years & this 1 already is 75-80 years old & will still be running after the new is a piece of junk This must be either a union or a government job 1 man working & 2-3 standing around watching Thank you Sir for this video

UK Health and Safety. Would have a heart attack!! Flames, rotating machinery, belts, flappy clothing , no eye protection and young children running around. A recipe for disaster. Roy W UK
love the people, the work, and the equipment, but for the love of all that is good in this world... BUILD A COVER FOR THOSE MACHINES! don't just leave em' exposed to the rain man, that is your livelihood! edit: spelling
The Russian ship runs on mazut, an especially low grade crude. These guys appear to be using bunker fuel, which is refined once without cracking. Mazut would quickly foul the combustion chamber with ash and carbon deposits, which cause engine damage.
Indians and Pakistanis love horns. Listen to any street video in India and all you hear are car horns. I always wonder why these guys wear pants under their dresses
It may be for when they're used for water pumping - you can listen to the engine from a fair way off (doing something else) and hear if anything changes
@@larrycarlston4044when have zero knowledge it's better not speak without knowledge. It's Pakistani black oil engine which is totally made in Pakistan, you can not see this Black oil engine in India. Don't mix up Pakistan -india. Different minds and different things
@sunnyvickasdiaries You might want to hone up on your English comprehension before you reply to me. No where did I ask about the engine. I stated that India and Pakistan love their horns. That is fact, and that's all I said.
