3:50 what a horrible woman. Making a situation out of nothing. The van is going to struggle getting out of there, so took a small liberty and edged out, which the vast majority of people would see as something you put you lr hinad up to and say. "go on, mate". Life is so much easier when you don't make mountains out of mole hills due to ego.
I agree I would've let the van in too. Although the van was pushy she should've just let it in because what the lady ended up doing was quite dangerous - she swerved around the van and I wonder if she checked for filtering traffic or a bus before going into the left lane 😮
The woman with the child cycling over. I think the mother should 1) put her phone away when in charge of children; and 2) she had hold of the wrong child. The older one should know his highway code by now on how to cross a road, and the child on the bike should have had his mother holding him back by holding onto his hood
Technically you are not supposed to know the highway code until 17. The clip is all silence wonder if they sounded the horn which if they did wonder if they ever did that when a child.
@@suzukidaniel1396 Well you could argue 16 as that is when you can legally ride 125cc scooters on the road, but equally, don't forget that the first part of the highway code covers pedestrians and cyclists. In any case I would argue that you you should be referring to the Green Cross code rather than the Highway Code.
@@CallumK911 why should kids and child know anything about highway code and the rules? Half of adults who drive and have licenses to do so don't even know the highway code
The "it's a give way" woman gave the impression she was letting the van out due to the big gap then she accelerated to leave the van blocking the road if she'd have had her way.
At 3:50, why try to make it difficult for the van driver? he obviously did not think that the traffic was going to stop and had the time to get through safely and he would have done so if you had not tried to save yourself three seconds on your journey by being so difficult, all you had to do was slow a bit and let him make the turn. All it takes is a little understanding and courtesy and respect that people have to make a move like this at times otherwise in traffic they could be stuck there foe ages. It is worse for large vehicles, lorries, coaches and buses, they need a much bigger space to fit into and also that steering is a lot wider and they often have to use the other side of the road to make the turn. Give a bit and make it less of a problem for these drivers.
I'm a disabled scooter user myself and so in answer to the scooter question at 8:00, it's YES, these small 4mph limited scotters can be used on the road if there is no suitable pavement for them. One of the big problems is getting up and down from the pavement as in many areas there is a distinct shortage of lowered kerbs to allow you to cross the road going straight across - you might have to drive some distance on the roadway to get a lowered kerb on the other side. Badly parked cars are also often a problem. In this particular instance the lady needs to be asked if she carries an organ donor card - there is no excuse for what she's doing.
I recognised the area and don't think there is a dropped kerb on that side of the road before the junction and the nearest one after is the entrance to the school car park. Still even if she was on the road for longer than required, there was absolutely no need for cammer to close pass her into oncoming traffic and then swerve back in.
the one in the video, no. Those big box ones yes. The difference is engine size and lights. The woman in this one was in a 4MPH one, no lights. She should NOT have been on the road. And as for "if no space on path..." there was plenty of room on the path in this video. Was just a self entitled person holding up traffic.
I thought the answer was "no", class 2 invalid carriages must not be used on the road except where there is no pavement. Lack of dropped kerb in Central Ave / Mountford road may be an excuse for the beginning but there is a dropped kerb by the blue gate at 3:07
Sometimes there is no dropped kerb, and yes, we’re allowed on the road, but that woman could have tucked herself between the parked cars while letting the camper pass. It’s terrifying when cars pass too near. Saying that, I’ve generally found drivers to be courteous toward me, letting me cross etc. and giving me room
00:56 Phew, that was close. The mother almost didn't finish updating Facebook on her phone!!!. Close! Good job she has the common sense to keep a tight grip ON THE PHONE! What child? Oh yeah, thanks for stopping....post.
There’s no such thing as a’fast lane’ on a motorway. They are ‘overtaking’ lanes. If a vehicle tries to push in, I hold back. Why block the driver off, blow your horn and start yelling? Just let it go and move on. Yes, there are arrogant idiots on the roads but don’t become worse than they are.
Having a pop in the lady in the mobility scooter…the elderly (even some younger with dementia) can become confused and lost. Instead of whinging about her being in the road, perhaps ask if she’s okay and help her get somewhere safe? Although, I understand you’d rather whinge about things and shame her for something she might not be able to help…
I am more likely to yell and swear at able-bodied pedestrians who deliberately walk in the road at night for no good reason, than pick on a disabled person in a mobility scooter who happens to be on the road during the day. I prefer if it's safe and clear for them to ride the bicycle lane or nearby footpath rather than in the midst of peak hour traffic and risk being hit by a large truck, bus or similar vehicle.
Seems to me that calling a van driver blind when a car chooses to hover in their blind spot when they only have wing mirrors is asking for trouble. Admittedly diving from lane 2 to the slip road only shows their navigation is off or theyre distracted. Dont hover in the blindspot of vans or hgv's.
Need more motorway patrols.. 30 yrs ago we saw them on every stretch of motorway.. people behaved better because of it. Now there are no patrols, drivers generally make up their own highway code. Lack of education on motorways is a big failure too.
Scooters on the road - it's not the scooter but the driver that's usually the issue. However, if it were round my way they would have no choice because of the amount of cars continually blocking the pavements and drop kerbs.
I know someone who ran into one of these buggies when it crossed his path while he was trying to turn out of a side road. The buggy driven by an old chap who was driving it on the road was toppled off and he hit his head on the road. Unfortunately he died a week later and the driver was charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
nope, cammer not even slightly in the wrong there. they did slow down, but the silver astra braked instead of getting up to speed. also it's the joining car which needs to fit into the existing traffic, when joining at a slip road, not the other way round. rule #1 in the highway code: if you force people to make space for you, then ya doing it wrong.
I expect the woman using the mobility scooter is in a no win situation, I've heard people moaning at mobility scooter users for using them on the pavement. But here's the thing, who actually needs to be in that much of a rush that they get upset because someone who's only affordable option to getting out and about is to use a mobility scooter. Even emergency vehicles drivers would have respected the woman and given her the time she deserves to go about her business. I can only imagine that the woman that sent the clip in must have been a brain surgeon rushing to an incident to save someone's life because it's about the only thing that might have justified her comments. She is basically teaching her child that people with mobility issues are an inconvenience and it's fine to disrespect them.
4:00 No car had overtaken the cam car for at least 18 seconds, it would have been less inconvenience to them to move into the right hand lane and let the silver Astra join, than have it join and then cam car end up right up it's ass and moan about it not speeding up.
Mobility scooters can go on the road if they're equipped with lights, indicators and so on. If the scooter has none of these it isn't road legal and the same applies to quad bikes but a quad would require insurance to be on the road. I don't know about insurance for mobility scooters, it remains something of a grey area and if one crashed into your car it's likely you'd be footing the bill.
It's frightening to see a mobility scooter on the road at the best of times but someone who doesn't seem to be aware of their surroundings is worse. There's an elderly gentleman who travels along the road where I live on the WRONG side forcing motorists to either stop because there's another vehicle coming or if safe go onto the wrong side themselves to avoid hitting him.
Some Wheel chairs can be road legal but have to have indicators and a reg like a car. That lady at 3:00 was not on a road legal one so should have been on the pavement
@paul8161 did you read @leewatson8129 comment? He said 7.5mpg instead of mph!!! So I riffed off that and said wow 7.5mpg that is a lot of fuel!!! I know lolz right?! Zany guy from zany town with the crazy sense of humour. I'm here all week. Tl;dr "That's the joke"
The driver with the horse box should just have kept going. I assume the lights changed as they approached. The driver decided to stop but you avoid braking hard when towing a horse box as this throws the animal around and might injure it, so they ended up where they did.
yes, that's how it looks at first glance, but actually no, they just didnt see the light. you can tell cos of how quickly the light changes back to green. also I think I know that junction; it's in Devizes, and there's a nice long, straight section of road leading up to it, with zero obstructions, so really no excuse for not stopping in time.
Legal or not, look after vulnerable road users. This mobility scooter user was at risk so important to give her plenty of space, treat it like a kid on a pushbike and have a bit of patience.
Disability scooters..... Minefield. You can use a class 2 and 3 on pavement and should only be on the pavement.... If the scooter must be on the road it needs to be DVLA REGISTERED with working lights, break's and Indicators... But who will check.... Insurance. a friend of mine was run in to by someone on one, it drew blood so he went to court and got a payout. If you do use a scooter just be safe. In fact all of ya be safe.
The lorry that crossed the central reservation should have been stopped dead in its tracks by the barriers which obviously are totally inadequate & not fit for purpose The central barriers are there to stop vehicles crossing to the other side ARE THEY NOT LEGALLY REQUIRED TO BE CAPABLE OF STOPPING HGVs ALSO? IF NOT THEY MUST BE STRENGTHEND TO BE ABLE TO STOP HGVs AS THIS WOULD SAVE COUNTLESS LIVES THE SAME APPLIES TO BRIDGE PARAPETS WHICH MUST BE STRONG ENOUGH TO STOP ALL VEHICLES GOING OVER THE SIDE INCLUDING THOSE THAT CROSS RAILWAY LINES ? REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED AT SELBY?
I don't know whether it actually became law, or if it did how it was supposed to work, but there was certainly talk very recently, last two years or so, about allowing learner drivers towards the end of their lessons onto the motorway.
Regardless of the rights of people to use their mobility scooters on the road or not, I can`t see why they choose to do that when they have a perfectly sound footpath to use. They are putting themselves in quite unnecessary danger by using the road. Rights are of little use when you`ve got a 40 ton truck on top of you.
Emergency bowel movement more like it. Seem clips of people riding those scooters dressed in dark clothes on a dark night puts the wind up me just seeing the footage. The scooter rider didn't even look to see what was going around her.
that mobility scooter is not road legal it has to have indicators lights and has to be capable of 8mph im a mobility scooter rider i have fully road legal veleco zt-15 8mphif it dont have indicators on it which that one does that woman is breaking the law
And the first clip is why you shouldn't hog a middle lane, it instigates very dangerous manoeuvres (12 seconds from the joint to the BMW passing) 12 seconds of living on another planet before thinking he's awesome for spotting the car making progress around him 🤦
@@signant because the BMW was bombing down the left slip road. He waited because he has good awareness and knew "this guys gonna be a jeremy hunt, ill stay in Lane 2 so i have more options." I bet you're the kind of plebe who would hog both lanes at a merge in turn instead of using both lanes because "muh you can wait. Me soo smart"
@@AzguardMike not even he had loads of time and the car two in front was across, that BMW didn't start at the slip lane at 80 did he? Cam car could have made space, or moved over... He saw the BMW when it was far too late. And I bet you're the type of driver that only uses lane 3 of a motorway, and move the car over to block filtering bikes because "this my road me do the driving here, that's all matter me do dah drive"
Clip #1 BMW guy it's a jerk of course. Should not be driving that way. Very aggressive, not suitable for public roads. But the cammer was hodjing middle lane without a reason. Travel far left guys (considering you are brits, and travel the wrong side) everyone else normal countries, travel right. Clip #2 - So very bad parenting. It was perfectly avoidable.
@Jenny.C1978 then stay off the road and don't put yourself at risk like she did she would only need to do it once and her loved one's would be getting the dreaded knock at the door to tell her loved ones the bad news, what a selfish thing to put your loved ones through because she's got no brains then to stay off the road and use a pavement or if one isn't available then to get out the way more,, her scooter wouldn't stand a chance with a car going into it.
@@paul8161 if she's not there then it'll be a child on a bike or a teenager on an electric scooter or skateboard. All I'm saying is that if you see a vulnerable road user, instead of moaning about them, the cammer should give them extra space and be extra patient around them. There's no use just moaning about it. If the cammer feels they need to be advised that they're at risk they could always stop and politely talk to them or contact the police if they think they're in immediate danger.
Blind van driver - I just KNEW the van was going to move over at the last second! The lady cammer really should have expected this, and NOT "lingered" alongside the van. Sometimes you just KNOW what is going to happen and you CAN pre-empt it - some times you can't. Keep things in your own hands - do not linger alongside other traffic on slips or where lanes split off to the left.
Are people really that ignorant they aren't aware that motorway driving is included in driving lessons and both the tests? Not to mention the fact that it's almost the same as major A road driving anyway.
@@Dhoggyincorrect. June 4th 2018 the law changed so that learners are able to drive on a motorway as long as they are in a dual pedal car with a qualified instructor. In the last week I’ve seen 2 learners on the M25, just north of the QE2.
Wow, this batch of cammers are SERIOUSLY brain-lacking... (4:10 why dont you slow down? it is a slip road... 0:27 ZERO reason to be in the middle lane... 2:30 breaking hard? or breaking extremely slowly just to "make it look close for the dashcam on purpose"... 3:53 no words... how arrogant can you be, yes the white van is in the wrong, but just let him out instead of risking further altercation...)
First clip - had the motor cycle in lane 3 been 2 seconds "earlier" that absolute moron in the Beemer may well have just mown them down! I really hope your dashcam picked up the reg. no. and you reported them. Dangerous Driving - at the very least!
