I'm also vintage pattern seller, and my favorite moment of hell is the extra piece in the notched pattern, "Oh, hello what are you, a bodice piece or bodice facing, where do you come from, where do you belong?" And don't get me started on staples, rubber band, paperclips and my favorite, sharp, rusty straight pins, left on a pattern piece for 50 years.
I really love your "forest" dress -- seen it before but still love it. You make it look great! Oh, am I supposed to be looking at what you have there? Never mind -- I still love that dress.
My mom made me my favorite Halloween outfit ever out of that Halloween costume pattern with the leopard. She made me a Pink Panther costume when I was 7. Good times!
2:28 the little "Oh no, oh no, oh no..." is so adorable it made me giggle 😄 Go you! You did the thing! You did it! 🎉 We moved into this house 8 years ago. I still cannot use my sewing/craft room because (a) it's not set up and (b) it's full of crap in boxes. From moving in. Eight years ago. I've actually forgotten most of it, which is making most discoveries feel like the best gift from past me 😳🤦♀️
My mother moved a dozen times in 30 years, she took her boxes from house to house, & never dealt with most of them. There was always a couple of rooms, a garage, etc filled with boxes in every home she had. 😂 So you're way ahead of her! We have the extra room of furniture, & boxes from 8-10 years ago too. We're just keeping things from a landfill, it's better for the earth! 😉
Ha ha you said box 😂 I love patterns with missing pieces. My brain feels like I've defeated a top tier boss when I successfully draft a replacement. I'll definitely be back may 12
Ha! Ha! You said box! It’s so good to see you back again for a bit. I miss your snark and giggle each and every time you post. Thanks for today’s laugh
"Sewing in chaos" is the only way i know how to sew! Right now I am sitting on the floor like a gremlin hand finishing a a pair of pants so I can hopefully wear them to the ren faire tomorrow. This is both a fine and normal way to live my life.
OMG this...! This is what I envision every time I see someone use the Mimi G pattern storage method. I don't understand why they can't scan the pattern envelope and place that in the binder instead of separating the envelope from the instructions and pattern tissue. Copy the envelope, front and back on the front and back of a sheet of paper, slide it in a clear sleeve and put that in the binder. Less bulky too.
HA HA, You Said BOX! Did it come with its original Ribbons?? LOL and THANK You for the HUGE Smile you gave me and the Laugh to start what I hope will be a Better weekend and New Week you are truly a Gift to your members...
HA HA! You said, "BOX!" My sewing room is not even set up yet since moving, it's still in boxes... But it's finally getting there after half a year and I really miss sewing and messing with patterns and drafting and making pretty clothes
I now realize that I am lucky in the fact that all the patterns I own fit into one tote. That's still too many and I want to get rid of about 50% of them, but at least it's manageable.
Ha ha, you said "Box"! *said in the voice of Nelson from the Simpsons* These kinds of boxes are always pretty fun to go through. Some really pretty art in this one.
"HA! HA! You said, "Box!" You are more organized than most are. I wanted to tell you I enjoy your content, & have been missing your videos. I know you don't have time to film as much. Thanks for all you do!
Must not fall into the fomo must not fomo I have just finally got my walk away dress pattern printed to resize and gauge up. I have patterns I haven’t used. I’m not missing anything but the joys of putting puzzles together
Ooo. That looks like a storage nightmare. I hope whoever gets it has the time and space to deal with it. It’s nice to see the illustrations though for drafting inspiration.
As a mixed media "artist" ( no I am not an artist just dabble) I can see so many possibilities for random pattern fronts and tissue pieces...hopefully someone in USA gets to create with them
You and your Pattern Fashionista Cohort - you do this work so we don't have to. Madam, I salute you... Like, holy doodle, man. I guess this is what happens when you work on more than one pattern at once? I'm restraining myself from typing a certain phase because this is a rabbit hole I don't need to go down. But, thank you anyways. I'm assuming there's a collage artist out there whose jumping up and down right now. I hope your wrist heals soon. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Oooh! Those are totally worth at least trying to draft the missing pieces if possible. The older and smaller sizes seem to fit well, with less adjustment. Thanks for giving us a peek! HA HA! You said, "BOX!"😂
Haha...you said box 📦 😅😅. I love your personality...you make my days. Whenever I need a pick me up (or reality check that sewing is hard). I find one of your videos. I've seen them all. My husband watched one with me and laughed be cause we "drive the same way"...meaning no shoes. Please don't ever stop spreading your joy.
Nice to see you again! I have a grandson, so maybe those boys patterns could be good? He was with me when I picked up a BIG pair of 60’s curtains to make a summer dress and much more - like maybe boy pjs. So, Ha ha, you said box!
I am muppet armsing over your empty tub with you! Way to go, you did the thing! I will now fight the urge to go work on making my home office usable by reminding myself that i am still very much in the "recovering" phase of the reason why 2020 caused so many of us to yeet tubs full of whimsy and mystery into those oft ignored nooks and crannies, and will go watch another video instead. Better safe than sorry, right? 😉
Haha you said box! So glad to see your lovely smiling face again! 😊 I don't have Instagram (i probably should) but I'm watching something on RU-vid every day so will be here on the 12th!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video and I would commented on it, but somethings telling me if I did, I would probably be the one to win it and I don’t wanna win any of these patterns just because it would get too upset having pieces of patterns that I’ll never be able make. 😮😢😊
