The Yupo paper (orange pad) is for the alcohol inks. They need a smooth, nonporous surface to move on. Pinata inks are quite saturated, so use the Jacquard Claro extender or 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol to help them spread out. Alcohol inks are quite fumy, so be sure to have the windows open and an air purifier going, and wear gloves, because they will stain your hands. They are very fun to play with!

I found your channel because of Sarah's video and I subscribed and binged all your videos! I love your style and appreciate your passion for art. But mostly I choose which videos I watch based on the personality of the RU-vidr; why spend time with people you don't like? Both you and Sarah are such obviously wonderful human beings. You deserve this and I hope it boosts your channel hugely!

I remember when Sarah was on Jazza’s channel and I started following her then. She was so underrated and I’m so happy her channel has grown so much and that she has paid it forward to you. Your work is amazing and I love your channel. Cannot wait to see where you go from here! ❤🎨❤

The intense pencils are also cool to use with water. You can use them almost like aquarelles, or you can paint the tip with the wet brush and then paint with it, they are so pigmented!

It gets hard sometimes to find this kind of wholesome content on RU-vid. I loved this!!! I'm sure your channel will get big enough for you to be able to pay it forward someday soon, your content is so fun. :) I really appreciated that you thought of that, too. And for the record, I love watching as someone begins their journey toward learning something new, so don't hide your process, please! It's so encouraging to see that other people also may not really know what they're doing at first. Whenever I watch videos where people appear to just be instantly good at something they've never tried before, although I do enjoy the video, it leaves me feeling a bit like maybe I'm a failure, or doing something wrong, or else why can't I learn that fast? Maybe I'm stupid.. You know, that kind of silly, self-destructive thinking. When a content creator is willing to put their learning journey out there, mistakes along the way and all, I personally find it to be so constructive in so many different ways. I think it would make a great, specific sort of playlist, maybe? Anyway, yes, you ARE an artist! Please don't give up when you feel overwhelmed or have that nasty little voice telling you you're not good enough. Keep trying, don't overexert yourself, allow yourself to breath when you need to. I will happily be following along on your journey! :D

I cant wait to see you use all of it but especially the inks and yupo! Alcohol Inks are my favorite "art" medium even though i rarely use them as traditional art. I put them on my tumblers all the time!

Omg, I screamed for joy when Sarah added those Posca's. Those are something I've been wanting for myself for some time. I have the white fine tip and it's really great for added highlights to finished pieces. You've got a great haul here. When I first started my art journey, one of the best art decisions I made were those Derwent Inktense pencils. I love them. They're great for layering and they don't reactive like watercolours do. Which I found to be friendly to my beginner self. I'm looking forward to your 100K journey!

I’ve started working with colored pencils for about two years now. I started from scratch. I first bought the crappy pencils and graduated up to a 150 set of prizma’s . If I could offer just a quick couple of hints. 1st keep your pencil points sharp, work on the flattest surface (that would be your Bristol when working in pencil) work in layers a little color at a time, have fun (sometimes it is really hard to push through the tough parts of your picture- but I know you can. Just keep working on it. I’m a new sub and can’t wait to see what you create.

Yupo is great fun with alcohol inks. Not just the markers, but pouring ink on it and blowing it around with a Straw or letting or flow in certain ways. Alcohol ink art is so cool I think :)

I found your channel when I was looking for videos of people using NerdECrafter's Not Another Crap Kit and her SNACK box. Then I started watching you creating other RU-vidrs (I watch all of them too). Then I saw Sarah's video... Sarah and Shane are such sweethearts for doing this, and I'm excited to see what you come up with for all of these new supplies. The Yupo paper is great for alcohol inks (and markers). I watched Tim Holtz use it at a scrapbook expo. Looks amazing! You can do more than that though, lots of info online. Love to see you use the How to Draw Cute Heroes book, and the Yupo paper with the alcohol inks/markers.

The little heroes would be good models for sculptures to! Also i love derwent. They are my fave coloured pencils

It was great to see the other side of this, I found Sarah through Jazza and now you through her but it is always great to find new artists on here and see how they work and learn about new mediums and techniques. You asked about the yupo paper (the plastic like one) I think it can be used for other wet media as well but it is the main surface people tend to use for alcohol inks. Those are probably one of the things I would love to see you try. They are a bit different but are also forgiving to some extent with the ink being able to be removed or diluted with alcohol. That was a medium it took me a while to get comfortable with but is one I now really enjoy dabbling with.

I was so happy when Sarah made this video, because I found your channel recently before that shopping tour, and I really like your art and would love to see you grow. And I think I'd love to see how you try to make cute little RU-vidr clay heroes.

So I stumbled across your channel about a week before Sarah's video. I've been watching Sarah's videos for years and when I saw your face and found out that you would be the one getting the supplies I was happy for you. I think that you deserve it. Awesome collaboration lovelies. I think the yupo paper is for your alcohol inks & markers, well that's what I use it for lol

I discovered your channel through Sarah's video and have now subscribed, so making a video out of it definitely worked! That Yuppo paper is actually a special type of watercolour paper that works very differently to traditional watercolour paper. I say paper, but one of the unique features is that is actually made out of acrylic/plastic. I think your Windsor & Newton Watercolour Markers would be a perfect match for that type of paper as it combines watercolour and markers together. I never quite got the hang of that paper, but I would be really interested in seeing you give it a try. I also look forward to your upcoming Inktense video.

I watched both, sarah's and just now your video. and i am so happy for you, and proud of you for promising to pay it forward. and for losing the air quotes ;) i started watching your content a while back ant it always saddened me to watch you refering to yourself as a " hobby artists" and always downtalking yourself. i'm glad @SarahRenaeClark did this for you. helping you getting rid of the practice wheels so to speak. all art is good art as long as you enjoy doing it.

Di, I'd like to see you using the blue curve thingie. I've looked at them and wondered, often, but that's all, as I used to be able to draw curves, no problem. After a long, unintended break from my own work (partly due to focussing too much on teaching, which I love) I am now really struggling to make my arches look right (I seem to be ok with other curves - it's those architectural arches that are bugging me!!!) So this is an inexpensive possibility, and I'll be glad to see you working out how to use it, to see if it's what I need. It was great to see you and Sarah talking about the shopping. It rounded off and sorted out some of my rather jumbled thoughts about it! I'm really glad that you thought about doing it. And yes, paying it forward is really important, isn't it, as well as a feeling of being 'completed' about the help we were given that we are now (maybe even year later) able to pay forward.
