As someone who doesn’t see very well, there’s something these publishers don’t understand. Yes, we want a larger font size, but it’s not helpful if they then reduce the space between lines and cram everything together in an attempt to keep the Bible smaller. That makes it hard to read as well. I wish they would understand that. If you’re going to make a Bible with larger font make the Bible big enough that there can be adequate white space and space between the lines. The Legacy standard Bible wide margin does it well.

I just got that compact large print. Those are foot notes in the bottom corner, not cross references. Just in case that was making anyone’s decision to purchase. I got the cover with the peony. SO pretty and exactly what I was looking for.

The NLT has always felt like a "guilty pleasure" translation for me - I love using it in private but can't use it in the pulpit without getting booed (in my circles). Loving their new revamp.

Great video. I have the Personal Size Giant print, I think it’s an Aurora Cranberry color or something, and has a very nice 12 point font. So it’s kind of in between the two they sent you. The cover is gorgeous and the Filament app is awesome too. I was very impressed with it! 👍

Looking forward to your in-depth reviews. I read scripture aloud in public and have had difficulty finding a larger print NLT that doesn't suffer from severe print-through. These look great so far. Thanks.

I just reached out to them about this a few days ago! They said they haven’t done one yet because of material costs, but that they’ve been getting lots of requests for it so it’s on their radar 😄

Ten-point font may not sound *GIANT* . . . but in a "Compact" Bible it's certainly HUGE in comparison to font sizes in other "Compact" Bibles. (Certainly larger than the . . . 6? 6.5? in Tyndale's.) Nice unboxing, Tim!

I have an NLT journaling Bible from Hosana Revival (the Versailles version) and it's gorgeous 😍 but I wish I had gilding, it would be even more beautiful. Anyway, I really adore that leatherlike palm frond journal NLT. That's next on my list! Thanks!

Thanks Tim. Great review. I’ve got the brown leather-like palm design. Beautiful Bible I agree but print just a little small IMO. They perhaps should have gone up to font 9 or 9.5. Still lovely though. 😊

Great lineup Tim. As you said, that 16 point font is something else. I’m curious to know what the GSM is on the paper for a Bible with that kind of print.. Love that compact with the 10 point font. Great little portable reader. Thank you for sharing.

That ginormous bible is for giants in Christ who are partially blind which is hugely helpful for them! A special needs bible is a generous idea from Tyndale. The small one reminds me of my Quentel personal size. I have never read an NLT

I don't call 10 pt. giant print, but 16-pt would qualify. There is certainly a need for extra large print Bibles. I just ordered a synthetic leather NLT with Filament access. Iirc, it has 10-pt type. I've never read the NLT either, and I favor the literal translations. But I wanted to check one out. It should arrive tomorrow.

Another great unboxing Tim. Normally like an understated look but I do like the palm design on the wide margin one. The inside looks very similar to my ESV single column large print journaling Bible. Really enjoying using that for my read through this year, so as you said, maybe a good candidate for next year as I’ve not read right through the NLT! As for the ‘giant’ print compact being only a 10 point font, my large print compact is only an 8 point font! However, that is large for a compact size Bible. As for the big boy, I think that’s a little big even for my eyesight, but give me a few more years and I maybe needing one!

I love the filament Bible. I owned one, and it is excellent. Also, Tyndale is releasing an Inspire Bible in Spanish. It is called Biblia Inspira NTV and will be released on October 18, 2022. Maybe you can get your hands on that Bible.

I’ve been looking into getting a journaling Bible with either the NIV or NLT translations. These wide margin bibles look great. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a Bible that will have all kinds of markings and writings in them.😂. How is the filament stuff? I usually like to put my phone away while reading my Bible so I don’t get distracted 😅
