Unboxing A Cheap Stratocaster...Is It Any Good? | FireFly FFST Classic Unboxing 

I think most people would still consider this a Superstrat, given that the HSS layout is NOT the standard Stratocaster layout which of course only has single coils, including in the bridge position. The necks on these are really gorgeous and Sonic Blue is one of my favorite colors. Pity that the QC is not great and I would happily pay a few bucks more for a perfect setup and higher quality hardware.

14" fretboard radius so if you upgrade pickups get flat poles, trad staggered poles are disasterous. Bootstrap will wind flat pole pickups for you. Upgrade the bridge. Mine came delivered with burred knife edges, the plate has to be mild steel, chrome moly wouldnt burr right away. Wilkinson 52.5mm WV2-SB, or the Musiclily Gotoh 510 knockoff. You'll need to drill out the post holes for the bigger 9 or 10mm post inserts.

Would you consider the neck as a "thin pattern" neck? The radius mentioned by the mfg is 9.5" - 14" (compound radius). However, every Chinese guitar I've tried from Amazon is truly "thin pattern". Thanks

Change the strings and make sure the saddles aren't slid over to compensate for the bridge being positioned incorrectly. Thanks

Anthony - Killer guitar Bro - and killer playing!! Love that one. And I'm with you - I dig the black bridge pick-up to stand out a bit. Man - thar thing rocks, and it'll even be better, and smoother when you set it up. Pretty awesome tho - right out of the box, if you ask me ! I'm gunna look at these, and see what color options they've got, and so forth. Firefly is kicking butt.

The strings weren’t centered on the saddles when you got the guitar. Set it up…..you’re fine.

Anthony, don't be too hard on FF for the color mix up on the previous FFST. Apparently the manufacturer mislabled both colors of the first run. A bunch of people ended up with the wrong color.

How big are the frets?

i just got one too, but it is the chameleon color it changes color from blue to purple.. frets are nice but not all are level.. i need to level about 6 or 7 frets. i also hate strat knobs the volume knob my hand keeps hitting it so i removed the top tone knob and put the volume knob there, also i tightened the claw screws all the way decking the bridge, i ordered new saddles and string tree's. going to change the pickguard for HH soon.
