That's crazy!! That's my goal here as well. I'm gonna start leveling the frets, and changing the pickups and output jack.That should make it a pretty killing axe. The tele I got from them will require even less stuff. I'm probably just gonna change the neck pickup on that one, the bridge pickup sounds great!

​​@@CamiloVelandiaHad to do a lot of work to the Pinky strat once it got here. The bridge is crap. Mine came delivered with burred knife edges, not good. The MusicLily Gotoh 510 knock off with steel saddles in the big steel block fits but you need to redrill the post holes for the larger 10 mm post inserts. Same was true for the super Tele. The neck heel is very thick so a floating two post bridge is your best bet, I'm floating about 3/32". 4 springs and a Floyd trem stop piston. Aftermarket pick guards fit but need to be trimmed for that truss rod wheel and for the squared off flat bottom Tele neck pocket. The fretboard is a 14-in radius so flat pole piece pickups are a necessity. Bootstrap will wind you sets with flat poles or staggered, but trust me staggers are a sonic disaster with this fingerboard radius. I ordered an SSS set of Bootstrap Sun City Selects and have some Mojotone steel baseplates. I also ordered a Sonic Blue Squier 40th anniversary Strat (on sale!!) as a tonic for all this work the Firefly needed, a set of Bootstrap 54 Sparkles will arrive with those Sun City's, lol. Compared I just had to set it up and file the nut grooves a touch, worth every penny of the $50 more than the Firefly.

I agree man. These “cheap” guitars are the best quality “cheap” guitars Ive ever played. A few upgrades and they play like anything 5x the price

@@zuperdeegive it a try! Theres tons of videos and its a pretty simple process, if you go little by little you’ll be fine. Definitely dont start on an expensive instrument just in case 😜

I dont work for them, but from what Ive seen on their facebook group, it seems they have good customer service and everyone who had a faulty guitar got a replacement guitar.

Yes and some that bother to get in touch with customer service and send a pic upon delivery are sent a replacement and sometimes told to keep the damaged guitar as well.

I added a frankenstein set. Seymour duncan in neck, zexcoil in the middle, and a revstar humbucker. Three pickups I had laying around. The guitar sounds and feels as good as any strat around $1K. The tuners are the weakest link now, I gotta replace those too to make it the best guitar it can be

These are very solid guitars - period - let alone for the price. Astounding really. I love the shady experience of the guitar garden online process lol but that’s part of the mystique - don’t know how they do it and makes you wonder why other companies can’t offer similar spec levels at more affordable prices. I am going to put Bare Knuckle Triptych Single Coil strat picks up in (rabea massaad new collab) and see how they sound, although I am tempted to throw a humbucker in as well. From my what I gather - Rabea pick up seems pretty dynamic so I think I will try them first and really go for that single coil strat magic. I agree about tuning pegs - I also have a tele (replaced with pure 64 vintage tele picks up) from them too and am not the biggest fan - and will probably replace on both guitars soon. These are exceptional value guitars and are great as project instruments too..

It doesnt! But the pickups are something you may end up replacing anyway. Just rewire it to split coil

The electronics were fine. I swapped the pickups in mine but left the pots and switch. For some reason on mine, if I do dive bombs the bridge hits the wood in the cavity. Im not much of a dive bomb guy anyway

@@CamiloVelandia ok thanks, I might just have to get my hands on it and see if it's worth the work. New pick ups are probably top priority though. I have a specific tone in mind that these don't cover that well

Thanks man! I agree with you. I have over 50 guitars, and I have a couple guitars by a certain american big name brand with some ridiculous things that shoudlve never gotten past a final inspection. Things in the finish, crappy wiring jobs from the factory. You really pay for the name

I have a couple Seymour duncans that Im gonna throw in there. I like Zexcoil pickups for noiseless singles and I love their humbuckers are well. Texas specials are cool too

Hola bro!!! En mi honesta opinion, le hacen buena pelea a las fenders mexicanas. Ten en cuenta que mi objectivo siempre fue comprarla para modificarla. Despues de terminar este video, la desarme, le nivele los frets (solo le hacia falta un poco en los frets altos.. 13-15. Tambien le cambie los pickups por unos seymour duncans que tenia y un humbucker en el bridge. Tambien le cambie el plug por uno mejor. Todas esas cosas ya las tenia… pero si tuviese que ponerle un valor, el jack me costo como $2…. Tal vez $300 en pickups. Yo mismo la nivele pero un tech puede cobrar $80… en total con el precio de la guitarra se puede decir que inverti menos de $600 en total, y tengo una guitarra que se siente como de $1500 minimo. La telecaster que me mandaron, solamente le cambiare el jack, y el pickup del neck solamente. De resto esta super bien
