This is a pen that I've been thinking about since I saw it in person at the DC Pen SuperShow in 2023. It looks pretty good in pictures, but the effect in person is breathtaking. It's just such a good looking pen, and it's like nothing else in my collection. I was thinking about how to spend some gift card funds, and Audrey pointed out that I should totally grab one of these while I could. Feast your eyes on the Glauco Cambon!

Ugh - DROOL worthy pen! I've spent WAY too much on pens lately so I'm going to have to pass but I sure would LOVE this one!

Right? It's pretty awesome. Don't let fomo push you to spend more on a pen than you'd want to, though. They're beautiful, but there will be more beautiful things out there to appreciate. 💜

Fantastic review. Thanks for detailing everything so well. If you had to choose between this and an m805 blue dunes which would you take?

I like the m805 size better, but the design of the barrel on this pen is just outstanding. I think I'd go Cambon.

I got mine 2 weeks ago and it is gorgous. Pelikan nibs are like writing on clouds and the colors of the Aurora Technique are awesome in different lights. I'm not a fan of ink windows nor transparent materials so this pen gets 💯

I don't mind it not having one, but it is handy to have that little ink window on the Pelikans, I think.

Hi Mike- I just received the Cambon per your guidance. What an amazing pen! Curious though- does yours have some candy cane barreling under the lacquer? I don’t see it in your video, but thought I’d ask! I notice it right away on mine.

@@inkdependence I watched some other videos on YT and it looks like this is maybe part of the design. It almost looks like gun barreling where there are small lines that wrap around the barrel like stripes on a candy cane. For whatever reason mine are pronounced and stood out more in the light. Thank you for responding - I also forgot you’re probably very busy at the SF show. Have a great time!

Thanks Mike! 😃 And also, thanks Mike. 😠 This pen (and its packaging) were just way too beautiful to ignore. I just ordered one (fine nib) and am super pumped to get it. That's the first "Thanks Mike!" But, up until a few minutes ago, my spending cap for a single pen was $250. Obviously, this pen's price sped past that mark with ease. So, that's the second "Thanks, Mike." Seriously, though...I don't own a Pelikan. I've always wanted one, but was waiting for one that really stood out. Well, this is the one! It truly is gorgeous... One of the colors on the barrel is sort of a jade green, so I also picked up a bottle of Pelikan Edelstein Jade ink. That should make a beautiful pairing...

Gorgeous - and your delight is lovely to see. Audrey was right to tell you to get it. Not a fan of Pelicans as I find the section too short for my taste but this is a thing of beauty and I would be tempted if I had the funds spare.

Quite a beautiful pen, very imaginatively constructed. I regret, though, that I have trouble getting excited about another Pelikan pen body with the same line of stiff, uninteresting Pelikan nibs in them. There's a lot to be said for product consistency and quality construction, so they have that going for them. Regrettably, not my dish of tea.

Mm. The m600 does have a stiffer nib in it than the 800 and 1000 do, but I tend to like the stiffer nibs better than the softer ones for my everyday use. Can you imagine an m1000 with this style of barrel, though? It would cost a mint, but it would look outstanding.
