Great unboxing video and brief demo. Yeah i'm not a fan of that kickstand, it does feel flimsy and will break it off eventually. I use another stand for it. But overall it is definitely a very good radio on all bands. It is a fun radio. I enjoyed it today on my live stream. Thank you for the shout out. Have a great weekend. Take care and 73.
Good unboxing, thanks. Looking forward to more tests of this new radio on other bands. I wish you'd have stressed more that it comes *without* a battery. A crying shame in this price range IMHO. I'm afraid that some people will find out only when unboxing and get quite frustrated. Not everyone has 18650 batteries in their drawers. Also, you're quite correct pointing out that the stand is fragile. It really is. Don't push on buttons when the radio is sitting on it, because you'd easily break it. Overall, it's quite the same excellent radio as the SR-286, only with a few different button combinations for a couple of functions, a price almost slashed in half (makes us who bought the SR-286 feel a bit bitter) and the nice accessories. But still no battery! 😠 Qodosen, wake up! It seems like you own one of these "tin can" TEF6686 radios. I have one too (the silver one) and I've compared it extensively with the Qodoson on SW only. The latter clearly wins, quite a bit less noisy.
Thank you for the feedback. I added a sentence to the description about the battery not being included with the radio. I also have the silver TEF6686, which also has great FM reception, but it's noisy on MW & SW with the telescopic antenna. Have a good weekend.
Thanks for your reply. In my experience, even on a long wire antenna, the silver tin can TEF6686 is noisier than the Qodosen. Still a great radio with the large colour screen and all its features.
Radio Jay Allan has reported that this one's close to the legendary Panasonic RF-2200 on MW/AM when switched from the loopstick to the whip. That's truly astounding.
The AliExpress SR-286 comes with a soft and hard case and a 3000 mAh 18650 battery. I got mine a few months ago and am continually impressed with it. Thanks for the look of the DX version.
It's hard to tell. I was able to get 99.3 WRWB on both radios in a spot near my room. I think the TEF6686 is slightly because of its longer antenna. Excellent FM selectivity on both receivers.
