Hi Guys, Good banter 😂 I just want to say thank you. I have finally moved into my new place and just purchased and had installed a Hampton 5 Large because of you guys and I couldn’t be more happier, the screen and the wash are phenomenal. I have watched every one of your videos and a hell of a lot of them several times to learn, thank you for the entertainment and education of how to use my first ever stove. I will continue to be an avid watcher and subscriber and I’ll also have a little spend up on your website. Many thanks and kind regards Tony
Thank you for all your reviews and comments…..always edifying and entertaining. Please would you consider reviewing the Stovax Sheraton 5kw wood burner standard width. Fitted this last Dec and also had a few issues with smoke entering the room although some of that is down to learning how to learning how to use the stove and the fact that there are a couple of bends in the liner and not a straight passage up the chimney. One comment above is regarding the door seals being easily worn (?) look forward to your upcoming reviews. Cheers . James
I haven’t encountered this rope seal issue, and as you say there are techniques to navigate the smoke spillage issue. I will bear the Sheraton in mind, hopefully I’ll get a chance soon.
Great looking stove, excited for the full review! I have a dunsley avance 400 which I love but the ash pan only fit 3/4 of the grate so you spent a lot of time cleaning the ash out with a vac, so I cut and folded my own from a beautiful grained stainless and made a nice thick handle to suit. Looks and works a dream now 💪
@@TheTortoise It certainly is but you can get the multi fuel kit additionally which I did. And yes it's the shocking piece of metal with cut outs like you mentioned 🤣
Can't beat a good tool 😂 impressive looking stove l certainly like the look if my opening was higher. Would certainly help my knees not having to kneel to load the stove the store is definitely a usable feature.
Take a look at the baffle and the path the flue gases take, very restrictive and after its got some fly ash and soot on the baffle it gets worse,I hope they have updated the baffle as the only way you could get them to work is cut the upstand off the baffle, the central circular grate is too big after a short time it will no longer turn, it looks great but very much form over function, they also eat door seals
I love the look of this stove also worth mentioning unless you put a wedge in place behind the stove they tend to move around due to the slam shut door, I believe they did offer a mk2 baffle ro reduce spillage
@@MegaSweep1 I don’t have that problem at all, but it could be that mine is on the log store. Definitely easier to wiggle around on one of their benches for sure 😅
I have a Stovax 4Kw insert multi fuel stove since 2016, and interestingly have had the door seal problem and the fly ash collecting on the baffle problem, but my grate riddle is very effective. I burn mostly kiln dried wood, with occasional addition of smokeless fuel, so the riddle is not used much. I still like the stove however.
Oh that’s interesting. Obviously I’ve been using it for a couple weeks without a problem, but I imagine in your job you’ve encountered this a few times?
This stove looks the part, but isnt practical and has issues. Installed quite a few. Best stovax burner is the stockton range but is a traditional look
Okay, I was told that about 10/15 years ago. It could certainly have changed or been a recommendation by a particular building control or something. I’ll look at that a little closer at some point.
