This controller is excellent as it comes with the editing control and the 3 color wheels control. May I ask if it also can control the "offset" color wheel?
You made this 4 years ago. I would love it if you could make a video of your experience with after this much time. If you found it worth it, what you liked and did not.

I have the same control panel, Tangent Wave 2 and FCP X not recognise it, I installed Comand Post and not work. There is a kind of settings I need to do ? 2 years ago I remember I can control the Colors well in Color Finale, but now, it not work.

Was thinking on the Resolve micro panel, or the mini panel, and found out about this. Wonder if there are compromises between this and the Resolve Mini Panel. After all one is 3000+, and this is 2000+ give it or take it. But this allows you to use in different softwares... that's interesting
I was planning for Davinci Mini Panel but just matches your video. So please let me know is this good idea to shift my focus to Tangent W2. I mean I'm really confused because it looks cheaper than Mini Panel. Please lemme know. Budget is also a concern but good product is also my concern. Please enlighten me
Hi, I’m thinking to buy to Wave 2 for use with the Resolve. Can you tell me if the Wave 2 have the adjustment primaries controls? Like color boost, temp, tint and etc. I can’t find this information.
Hey Eric! Unfortunately, Blackmagic has set the mapping for the Wave 2 in Resolve and does not provide any support for you to customize the controls yourself. For a reason which alludes me, they did not add the temperature, tint, or color boost controls to the board at all. The primaries page contains contrast, pivot, and saturation, hue, and luma mix. but not the other, which they easily could have set onto the ALT page.... I am hoping that either they will add support for you to customize the controls or perhaps CommandPost will add support for Resolve through which we can set up a custom map for the Wave 2. I do love this control surface so far, the reason I went with the Wave 2 over the Blackmagic control panels is that I wanted to also use it with Final Cut Pro. But for some one who wants it strictly for color grading in Resolve, I would recommend buying one of their panels. Hope that helps!
Hey man so after nearly a year could you do an overview of the panel/ a video going over your thoughts on it and could you let me know what is mapped to the f buttons because I don't think they can be customised in Resolve
mariotriforce yeah unfortunately, Blackmagic doesn’t let you customize the panel as they have set it up themselves and I don’t think they did a very good job in my opinion. But it works and it’s still better than not having a panel at all. I still plan on doing a full review but life has been crazy, all let you all know when I have an idea of when I’ll do it. Thanks!
@@RadionPhotographyCinema ya I know BM wants everyone to buy their panels and I don't really blame them their a Hardwear company and ya covid has messed up every bodys year, I hope the review is sooner rather then later:)
haha thanks! I know because I did a lot of searching for reviews before I purchased and did not find a single one besides tradeshow videos and crappy unboxing vids. I know most people use Premiere Pro, which the wave 2 does support.
@@RadionPhotographyCinema It's VERY strange that well after ONE FREAKING WHOLE YEAR, and NOT A SINGLE LEGIT REVIEWS OUT THERE. I can't be the only one who thinks this way. Is it a shoddy product? Do they have an embargo? Is the product in trouble? Do they not care? Are people not buying them? DO THEY EVEN INTEND TO support it in the future? (MOST IMPORTANT) So many unanswered questions and poor communications from Tangent made me not wanting to buy it anymore. Their website provides minimum information and really just shouts "we don't give a fuck" really. This is not how you do business in 2019. WHY create a product if you don't intend to support it or let people review it? They succeeded in holding my purchase alright. I BET YOU TOOK A RISK/Chance with them cause you didn't have anything to go by just like the rest of us. Sad.
@@lil----lil honestly I don't think that control panels have made their way heavily into the "prosumer" market where a lot of youtubers and gear reviewers live. I think we are just seeing the beginning of it making it's way into that market and not just stuck in the production studio world where they can afford to buy the $30,000 console. It's a great product and so far I am loving using it in my workflow. Especially for color grading, not only has it sped up my process I think it has also made it better by allowing me to focus more on the image.
Quite curious about how this thing differs from the mini panel? Seems like they are almost the same but only this one is made out of plastic which is less of a concern to me.
Neil Angelo Briones if you’re talking about the Blackmagic mini control panel I have not had any experience with it. The only thing I could tell you is that it is made specifically, and I believe only, for Davinci Resolve
Hey Robert! I have only been using the Tangent Wave 2 for about a month now. Once I feel really comfortable and familiar with it I will make a video about all my likes and dislikes. It definitely takes getting used to moving away from the keyboard and mouse. I still rely on those tools as well. chris tobin totally. Reason why I made a video. I would say though, that if youre editing and grading in resolve to get one of blackmagic’s panels because blackmagic doesn’t let you customize the tangent panel when using it with resolve. But if you are using it for premiere or fcpx then the tangent is amazing. It’s also good with resolve but It doesn’t have everything I’d like.
I use it for editing and grading in Final Cut Pro. But I am not sure if black magic has it setup for editing in resolve... but you can grade with it In Resolve
