I got one of these a while ago. It is a brilliant system for the price and the fact you can add more sensors and they all some at different prices depending where you shop. Some things will interfere with the range between Like walls and the one on a door near the LCB board for some reason. But you can help extend that range with 433mhz signal repeater I was able to cove my workshops. So a few of them around the house helped with leak detectors under the water tanks in the loft and smoke alarms. Now I would strongly advise that you get the extra key fob auto turn on turn off for every person who you want to enter the alarmed building. The benefits of doing so makes it worthwhile. Plus you can get them in bulk at real good prices if you shop around. I got more than I need because there is always one who will lose their keys. I got 8 for 29 Euro so you can get good deals on them. You can set the alarm when you leave or just before you leave and you can allow some time before alarm is set. But what you never want to do is allow any entry time at all. If you set an entry time of 10 seconds well that is 10 seconds to long a burglar is in your home. If you have to set a time set it to 1 Use your Remote Controller and turn alarm off before you enter. It is one of the best features of the system. Never advertise the kind of alarm system you have by placing stickers on your window or doors. If you wish to have your alarm on when you are inside avoid using motion sensors That leaves you with window and door censors and vibration censors and If you wish beam sensors. Window and door censors work very well and most people use them. But they won’t trigger until a window or door is open. So your burglar will run away but won’t take the time to close a door or window. If your burglar should smash a window and not have to open it well nothing will set off that alarm, so you may want to back that kind of sensor up with a vibration censors that will stop them in their tracks before a window or door is open or smashed. You can also set the sensitivity of the vibration censors you don’t want rain setting it off. That is what is so good about this alarm system you can tailor it to your needs. The getting notification on your phone is a plus. But let’s remember the importance of that is less important than getting a burglar to run away. So the Wireless Remote Controller is a must. The zero or one second entry time for getting in is a must. The vibration censor on its own or as a back up to the normal open activated magnet censor is a good idea. Why allow them to open anything at all get them to run before that happens. By all means use the app for your phone and if you have any cameras you can have a look and use the app to reset you’re alarm. As for the 433mhz signal repeater depending on your system and the size of your protected aria and walls you will more than likely need one or two. This alarm for its price has all the bells and whistles one could possibly need covers everything form protecting your home, with door and window sensors, motion detectors, carbon monoxide and Smoke alarms, water leak alarms, Gas leak alarms, It can be monitored by you and send you messages to your phone Some places will charge you a small fortune for that and when your alarm sounds what is the first thing they do? Well they phone you or text you. Well now you can have your alarm do that and you don’t have to pay a load of your hard earned cash to have someone else do that. So what’s not to like

Sorry last question!! I am trying to decide between this version and the new one. In the new one it says it tells you which sensor is set off, and let's you know when the battery is low to each specific sensor. In this version, if the alarm is triggered, does it tell you which sensor is set off? Or is that something only the new touch pad does?

Installed mine over the last few days, impressed however its missing a number of handy features 1 You cant edit one sensors parameters, you have to just delete all of them 2 You cant name the individual sensors ie "Garage" or Wash house" this would be handy to know what has triggered Lets not forget its a cheap alarm but im happy with it, the phone software seems to work just fine
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 6 лет назад
Can't argue with any of that! But your last sentence sums it up well - it is what it is. Adding lots more features would just make it more difficult to set up - increase the price - and probably put people off.

Hello Sir - I just bought a new version of the digoo device that supports 3G (!). Having gone through the setup I have been able to register all the accessories with the main unit but I have problem AIRLINKING my phone and the device. I have the following questions if you do not mind please: 1. Does the unit come with its own wifi or does it need to be connected to the local wifi that the phone is connected to? 2. I can see the wifi logo on the device but not sure if it is connected as the logo is not bright white but very clear with full signal. 3. i have followed all the instruction that came with the device and also followed your youtube demo but failed to AIRLINK the phone and the device! 4. What have I done: (a) Set the app to International. (b) Use the same wifi that the phone is connected to and the wifi is 2.G. (c) Kept the device and the phone close together to the router. (d) There is no space in the wifi password. Can you please talk me through the process if I have done it incorrectly? Many thanks
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 5 лет назад
Airlinking is only to allow the HOSA alarm to connect to your home wifi network. All that is required is the router name and password. Once that is complete, the App can be registered, logged into, and full control made available to your smartphone.

Having had time to use this a bit longer, I discovered that internal battery does only last about 30 minutes in the event of a power cut. However, I've found a way around that: the solution is to power it from a power bank and have a charger plugged into that. Now it will run for several hours. I hope that helps... where I live, we have frequent power cuts.
@JosefStrom666
@JosefStrom666 7 лет назад
Does the alarm system send an sms/email when a power cut happens ? For me this is one of the most important features !!!
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 7 лет назад
@JosefStrom666 I haven't tested that yet. The system will stay powered up for about 25 minutes with no power, but a solution to that is to have it powered from a power bank and have the power bank plugged into a charger - it will then stay powered up for several days.

I'm sorry I've read the comments and I'm not sure if I'm missing something or just dumb. Do I need a sim card for it to send the SMS message to my phone, or can it send me a message to my phone through wifi? Or if no sim card does it only send a message to the app, and not directly to my phones text messages?
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 5 лет назад
I'm sure you're not dumb! 😆 I use my system without a SIM card and it sends arm/disarm messages direct to my phone, and a loud alarm noise if it's triggered. Obviously the smartphone needs to be connected to the internet all the time - which most are, these days.
@googleuser6465
@googleuser6465 3 года назад
Hey does it have to have a SIM card or is it optional and if it does do you need credit on it or money on it
@orange70383
@orange70383 6 лет назад
So does it send you a message to your phone if you're away. Or does it just use wi-fi to alert your phone and if so what's the range. What's the range of the remote sensors, what's the alarms db, is it adaptable to add more remote sensors. Is their peripherals available for things like smoke, carbon monoxide etc. How long between chargings for the base unit, does it come with a wall type charger, can it be hooked up to 5v dc permanently. Is each system addressable or is there a chance of interference from another unit. What is the operational temperature range for both the main unit and remote sensors. What is the sweep range of the motion detector, can it be adjusted to ignore pets. These are just some questions that you normally find answers to from the back of the products box.
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 6 лет назад
Lots of question! :-) .... Yes, it sends a message to your smartphone... using wifi it will work within the range of your home LAN... or limitless if you're connected to a 2G, (and now 3G network with the latest version). The remote sensors (window, PIR, etc) have a range of about 50 metres. The base unit will work for about 20 minutes with no power and its built in battery. I have plugged mine into a power bank - with the power bank plugged in to a charger - that way it will last weeks with no power. No chance of interference from other sensors as each has its own unique code that has to be learnt by the main unit. The PIR motion detector can be fully adjusted to avoid pets walking past - obviously that needs some experimenting! .... and finally, yes, there's a very comprehensive list of sensors available as extras - including smoke, carbon monoxide and water level. There's also a VERY loud external siren, which I can thoroughly recommend - the built in one is adequate, but the external one would scare off any intruder that triggered it! Here's a list of add-on's: bit.ly/2wzZcHH

I'd like to install this system in a location with no existing internet or WiFi and use it as a standalone system with multiple sensors.
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 6 лет назад
The sensors use radio frequency to transmit to the base unit - each has a button cell battery inside (AA's for the PIR movement detector). It's also perfectly possible to install the system with no wifi - App - or SIM card and just use it with the supplied remote control. Let me know if you have any problems and I'll walk you through it.

I see you didn't test the motion sensor. How has the motion sensor been and the battery battery life? Does it take the same battery as the door sensors?
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 7 лет назад
The PIR motion sensor comes with 2 pre-installed AAA batteries (remote and sensors take CR2030 button cells) - with a tab to pull out on first use. Battery life is stated to be at least 12 months, and I've no reason to doubt it. The detection range is about 10 metres, and distance from the main unit at least 50. No issues so far :-)
@romancervantes3170

I recently bought this product and so far I like it. However, how do you open the battery cover from the PIR detector without breaking it? I already broke one by pulling it too hard.
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 6 лет назад
Sorry for the late reply! Yes, tricky isn't it! The procedure that works for me is to firmly push the release tab up while inserting a thumb nail in the gap that starts to open between the two half's. Sliding your nail up will release the plastic retaining clips, one-by-one. Let me know if you want a video demo and I'll upload one :-)

Very good review. Thank you. I'm very interested in Digoo DG-HOSA. From which you have used it for more than 1 year I have questions as follows. 1. How often is it that the notification is incorrect? 2. On average How long will you change the Windows Sensor battery? Thank you very much for your answer.
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 5 лет назад
Hello Devid. I've used it for almost 2 years, now... and it's still working as good as when it was first installed! During this time there has been many updates fixing minor app issues and adding features - although I've never had a single problem since first powering it on. Wifi notifications are accurate and received on my smartphone within 2 seconds of arming or disarming the system - same goes if the system is triggered. As for battery life of the window/door sensors (2032 cells available everywhere), my front door sensor battery was changed just last week, but that is used frequently, all day long, so expect a minimum of 18 months... and probably well over 2 years for doors and windows that are only opened occasionally. Let me know if you need help... I'll always reply, even if takes a while :-)

If you are referring to the batteries in the PIR, it takes 2 X AAA. Mine have been running for 2+ years without changing. Depends on where you live - some countries will continue to have 2G for many years to come. If you need the 3G version, it can be found here: bit.ly/2B56iX5

when its armed can you disarm by just pressing disarm on the keypad or must enter code then disarm i saw the touchscreen version has user codes but when alarm is going off just press disarm on keypad will disarm the system therefore any burglar just presses the disarm then the system offs does this need to be disarm by code or not
@phuketexplorer

The key pad can be locked after entering a password (separate menu to enable). If the alarm is triggered, it is too late for a burglar to disarm, as it will have already sent a message by SMS or wifi to the owner.

When I go to bed at night and someone triggers the doors I want it to alarm and when I leave the house I want it to arm, so which settings do I use I am confused with all the modes od 24hours, closed, stay arm and out arm. Hi, thank you for the video first of all. I have a few questions if you can answer them, please. 1. Am I able to add a door chime so when someone walks in my store it has a chime sound? If so where can I purchase this from eBay? 2. Am I able to get a notification to my iPhone when a customer walks into the store? So I can watch how my workers perform through my cctv camera’s.

Yeah but you still have time to turn it off before the entry delay counts down. And before you say you can hind the base unit ( which is what the manufacturers answer was) it kind of makes it a little difficult to put the code in
@phuketexplorer

The entry delay can be set to whatever you want. Mine is set to '0', so as soon a door or window is opened, the alarm is triggered. I turn it off before entering the house, using the key fob remote.

'Pre-advised' is a message from the carrier, saying they've got the package. It typically takes 5-10 days for shipping information to be properly updated - that's out of Banggood's hands! Could you do the following test: press the arming alarms button on the remote control and hold this button pressed, at the same time try to disconnect the window-door sensor (reed switch) or any other sensor. Has the alarm started? These cheap Chinese alarms are underdeveloped. The signal from the remote control blocks the signal from the sensor. The thief will come with his transmitter and the alarm will not react. Sorry for my English but I hope you know what I mean.
@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 6 лет назад
I've tried what you suggested and the alarm still goes off. Once the system is armed, signals from the detectors cannot be interfered with because each sends it's own unique code to the HOSA unit.

@phuketexplorer
@phuketexplorer 5 лет назад
PIR detectors can be triggered by the close movement of insects - spiders, for example. Window/door sensors need to transmit a secure code to the HOSA alarm, so if the battery has failed, its impossible for that to happen. The most likely culprit is a faulty remote control. One of mine was exposed to damp conditions and frequently triggered the system. Opening and cleaning the circuit board with Isopropyl alcohol (available at any pharmacy), fixed it. Hope that helps :-)

Yes the HOSA has a built in siren - which is reasonably loud and wouldn't go unnoticed. An optional external siren can be plugged into the side of the unit and can be heard outside, even with closed doors. That's a much better option.

Hello, did you find a solution to the power ON/OFF button issue ? The problem is that if you press the button for 5 seconds approximately, it turns off the system and disable the alarms and siren. Thanks for your answer and sorry for my english !

Bizarrely, it's possible to arm the system then turn it off by holding the power button for 5 seconds. That said, anyone breaking in will have already triggered the alarm and a message will have been sent to the owners smartphone, so it's not really an issue.

The App is called 'Smart Security System' and needs absolutely no explanation once you've installed and registered with an email address and password. Here a link to Google Play Store: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.company.pg600.cn Every box includes an English only instruction book - which I still haven't read (who does!) For a Chinese device, it's remarkably easy to set up and use. It's quite possible to not use the App at all, as every function is accessible from the easy to use menu on the main box. Obviously Digoo have put a lot of thought into making it easy.
